Names you're sick of hearing/Just hate?

I spotted a thread like this in the boys’ forum, so I thought I’d make one  So, what are the names you’ve heard about ten too many times in the past month? And what names just bug you for no reason at all? I’m sick of hearing [name]Bella[/name]. It’s a beautiful name and it’s sort of my name as well ([name]Isabella[/name]) but i swear, every time I meet a little girl she’s a [name]Bella[/name]! And I hate any name that ends in 'ee". [name]Kaylee[/name], [name]Jaycee[/name], etc. Other spellings are fine, just not “ee”.

Well, I don’t have any names that I hate, but my friend [name]Sophia[/name] does.
She hates her own name, we have like, five [name]Sophia[/name]'s in each class, and she can’t stand it, until one day, she just declared that she go by [name]Krystal[/name], her middle name. She has to ask, “Which [name]Sophia[/name]?” [name]Every[/name] single stinking time.
And my little sister whose in sixth grade says there’s a lot of [name]Sophia[/name]'s as well.

Erm, I really don’t hate any names, and I don’t really hear any names 100 times a day–I’m lucky that I’ve met one or two Isabellas, Olivias, and Sophias. lol. What I’m sick of is a whole genre of names, though–[name]Mackenzie[/name], [name]Kinley[/name], [name]Kinsley[/name], [name]Tinsley[/name], [name]Tenley[/name], [name]Henley[/name], [name]Bayleigh[/name], [name]Riley[/name], [name]Brinley[/name], [name]Braelyn[/name], Brayleigh, etc.–they all scream made-up an all the times I have heard names like those sort of just mesh together. I’d MUCH prefer to meet 10 Isabellas tomorrow than to meet another [name]Mackenzie[/name] or [name]Riley[/name]. They’re fine names, but just ugh, the way they all blend together!

I don’t hate any names really, besides the whole [name]Kaylie[/name], [name]Kylee[/name], [name]Kayla[/name], McKaylie etc… those drive me crazy!

I totally agree with ashthedreamer. I don’t mind common names like [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Emma[/name], [name]Ava[/name], etc. But I can’t stand the trendy, made up sounding ones.

I’m getting tired of seeing [name]Aria[/name]. I don’t know any irl, but it’s like every day I see new topic on the name here! It’s a lovely name, and I like it, but I’m being overexposed to it!

Im tires of all the [name]Kaitlyn[/name]/[name]Caitlin[/name]/[name]Katelin[/name] etc. I know WAYYYYY to many!

I’m more ‘not again’ in terms of combos…

[name]Ella[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Ella[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name] [name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]

And I can’t stand the name [name]Ruby[/name].

[name]Lucy[/name]- can’t stand it

It’s the trend for using surnames/place names/random words as first names that really bugs me. As much as the continuous flow of [name]Isabella[/name]'s, [name]Olivia[/name]'s and [name]Sophia[/name]'s has made the names depressingly bland and boring, at least they’re genuine names.

I know 30 '[name]Ellie[/name]'s" although their given name is different. Wow, blows my mind!
I don’t like overly frilly or “stuck up” names. No your kid isn’t going to be rule the world, but he will have problems spelling that 15 letter name.

RenRose- A lot of “random word” names have been in use just as long as [name]Isabella[/name] etc. Maybe you should do a little research before you post an opinion as fact.

I think there’s only “one opinion” on this board sometimes… You all are pretty much saying the same things over and over and I can’t get any genuine responses for questions just “it sounds too much like this” or “it doesnt look right” when I’m asking for facts and not opinions.

I’m actually getting tired of seeing one of my chosen (and all time favorite) names on these forums! Many people want to use it but they’re a little scared to use it by itself so they find some crazy first name and use my beloved name as a mere “nickname”. Usually the first name doesn’t even have anything to do with the “nickname” they’re using!
I’m also tired of the ‘give your kid a nickname before they’re even born’ trend. Like, “I’m going to use [name]Isabella[/name], but I’m going to call her Isbee so she’ll be different.” If you want your kid to be different don’t use one of the top names, simple as that! I think nn’s should be something they aquire through life, giving them a nn now really diminishes their chance of being given a nn based on their personality, or based on how their grandpa says their name, etc. (and those are always the best nicknames!)

Oh, and I can’t stand [name]Josephine[/name].

[name]AMELIA[/name], or [name]AMELIA[/name]-[name]ROSE[/name] or [name]AMELIA[/name]-[name]MAE[/name]. I hear it far more than I like it. I know there are some massive fans of [name]Amelia[/name] who may now come for revenge and and beat me with my keyboarbml\sdhfs\fdsiv \ishfbs ijsd jbsdfhbsfkjlhf but it’s a very hard thing to get my head arounsLDHIBFslh bghldb because there’s nothing inherently wrong with the name itsellkaBRHEBdgighgisd

I hate the name [name]Madison[/name]. I despise it. It was one of the first names suggested by my daughter’s father and I said absolutely no under any circumstances. It was so popular between the late nineties and mid-noughties, especially amongst the lower classes, it seemed to me. And maybe that’s harsh of me to say…but I truly hate it.

I agree with this statement. I’m also not a fan of using boy’s names on girls.

I’ve often thought that if people want to give a nickname to their child at birth, then they should just call the kid the nickname in the first place. My brother and his wife have a daughter, [name]Alexandra[/name], and they refuse to call her anything other than [name]Lexy[/name] and have no plans to call her anything but that. So why bother calling her [name]Alexandra[/name] on the birth certificate? I really dislike [name]Lexy[/name] too.

I’m tired of seeing/hearing [name]Lily[/name]. I know so many little girls and babies named [name]Lily[/name] my head might blow up! Total real life count (and I don’t know many kids) is 8, all 5 and under. When my grandmother suggested [name]Lily[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] as a baby name (her name is [name]Pearl[/name]) I wanted to throw a fit but I know she doesn’t know any [name]Lily[/name]'s so I kindly told her why it doesn’t work for me.

I know [name]Sophia[/name] is ubber popular, it’s my god daughter’s name who was born last year but she is the only [name]Sophia[/name] I know haha.

[name]Emma[/name] is the other one. I was tired of that one back in the 90’s so you can imagine how old and dragged it sounds to me now. In [name]Canada[/name] there were SO MANY girls named [name]Emma[/name] growing up it was insane. I am perplexed at how it’s suddenly so popular when in my mind it’s having the reverse effect. Same with the name [name]Isabelle[/name], so the variation [name]Isabella[/name] is very bland to me.

Others I just am tired of hearing or don’t see the appeal; [name]Caitlin[/name] (and variations), [name]Kaylie[/name], [name]Hailee[/name], [name]Kiley[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Amy[/name] and more.

I hate it when people suddenly fall in love with ugly sounding names that have not been popular for ages. Some older names that are coming back are lovely, such as [name]Grace[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name] etc. But for some other names have their is a reason why they haven’t been popular for 50 to 100 years. They are ugly! I am sorry if I offend anyone who loves these names, but I will never see their appeal. [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Gertrude[/name], [name]Henrietta[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Edith[/name], [name]Estella[/name], [name]Francine[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Jude[/name], [name]Silas[/name], [name]Jonah[/name].

I am sure their is names that I love that people hate for a good reason, so I understand if people disagree with me.

I am tired of [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Bella[/name], and I can’t stand the -lyn names either… also names like [name]Edith[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Josephine[/name] are so boring to me…

I totally agree with this… they just don’t sound… “rich” I guess is the word. I also despise [name]Madison[/name], and strongly dislike deliberate misspellings. I don’t understand the point… the name is still pronounced the same way, it’s the same name, it’s not any more ‘unique’.

A lot of the really popular names right now I quite like and think are very pretty, i.e. [name]Isabella[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Sophia[/name] but I always laugh to myself when someone thinks they’re giving their child a “unique” name when using one of these, or another near the top. My good friend recently named her daughter [name]Mia[/name], which is very beautiful, and if popularity isn’t a concern for you, a lovely choice, but she said to me, “[name]Mia[/name] is such an unusual name, she’ll probably be the only one in the state!” All you have to do is do a search online to know that’s not true! You’re naming a child for the rest of their life, is it really that hard to do a google search?
