Need unique "R" names!

[name]Hi[/name] everyone, I need unusual girl names that start with R. Trying to follow a family tradition, I’m just having trouble finding any R names I like!

[name]Rylan[/name], Ragan, [name]Reese[/name]

[name]Rafferty[/name] nn Raffie
[name]Raquel[/name] nn [name]Rocky[/name]
[name]Rhiannon[/name] nn [name]Ria[/name]
[name]Rocio[/name] nn [name]Rio[/name]
[name]Romilly[/name] nn [name]Romy[/name]

[name]Raina[/name] or [name]Rayna[/name]

[name]How[/name] about:

[name]Renata[/name] (Rah-na-ta)

I used to not really like alot of R names for boys or girls! But I started looking for one for a future son to keep up an initials tradition in the family and I have come to adore them! Here are some that I found that I really like:

[name]Regina[/name] nn [name]Regan[/name] or [name]Reggie[/name]
[name]Remington[/name] nn [name]Remi[/name]
[name]Ripley[/name] - although for some reason I picture this more on a boy
[name]Romilly[/name] nn [name]Romi[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name] - even though there is that dreaded Twilight association heh
[name]Rosalind[/name] - love love love this name
[name]Roxie[/name] - like the spunk of this name

I am regan and I hated my name growing up. That is all I have to say. My sister is [name]Rory[/name]. She did not like it too. We both did not like that our names were BOY names. We have three [name]Reagan[/name]'s in playgroup which surprises me. No [name]Emily[/name]'s Emmas or [name]Madison[/name]'s or Isabellas but three Reagans!!!

I like [name]Remi[/name]. Which is cruel because [name]Remy[/name] is traditionally a boys name so I eould be repeating the past.

[name]Ren[/name] is a Japenese boys name I love. I don’t know if it would make a good first name, but [name]Rhapsody[/name] is my daughter’s middle name.

Looks like [name]Rin[/name] is a Japenese female name, although the meaning isn’t as lovely.

Thank you all so much! I like so many of these, and there was a few I’d never even thought of. I really like…

[name]Reese[/name] - really cute

[name]Rhea[/name] - [name]RAY[/name]-uh or [name]REE[/name]-ah?

[name]Rio[/name] - I love this, do you think it’s too boyish or nicknamey though?

[name]Rocio[/name] - this looks cool, never heard it before. [name]How[/name] is it pronounced?

[name]Romilly[/name] - adorable, I think it’s my new fave.

[name]Ruby[/name] - long time fave, just afraid of the popularity. I think it’s becoming trendy…

[name]Rowan[/name] - another long time fave. [name]Do[/name] you think it’s becoming too popular? I see it a lot lately…

R names:

[name]Romilly[/name] nn [name]Romy[/name]

From your list so far, [name]Romilly[/name] is my favorite…

For me, [name]Rio[/name] is too masculine, though it can be considered unisex since it’s also a Japanese name for girls. According to Behind the Name:

[name]RIO[/name] (2)
From Japanese ? (ri) “jasmine” or ? (ri) “village” combined with ? (o) “center”, ? (o) “thread” or ? (ou) “cherry blossom”.

Also from Behind the Name, [name]Rhea[/name] is [name]REE[/name]-? and [name]Rocio[/name] ro-THEE-o (Spanish) or ro-SEE-o (Latin American Spanish). I knew a family with [name]Rhea[/name] as their last name, and I think that’s how they pronounced it. [name]Rio[/name] could work as a nickname for [name]Rocio[/name]…

[name]Ruby[/name] is lovely, but you’re right that it’s gaining popularity. In a Nameberry blog, [name]Pam[/name] and [name]Linda[/name] predicted that [name]Ruby[/name] would be the sixth most popular name in 2020:

Right now, at #108, [name]Ruby[/name] is just outside the Top 100. However, 2008 to 2009, it only went up 5 spaces…

For a girl, [name]Rowan[/name] for a girl ranks #496, while the name ranks #336 for a boy. I wouldn’t call it unusual, but I wouldn’t consider it too popular, either…

Other ideas:
R”is”n (ROSH-een)

Good luck!

I like [name]Rhian[/name], [name]Rian[/name], Rhiann, [name]Rhia[/name], [name]Rochelle[/name] but [name]Roisin[/name] is my favourite (say Row-sheen) so lovely!
[name]Ruby[/name], [name]Robyn[/name] and [name]Ruth[/name] all nice but too popular?

Oh I forgot about the Welsh [name]Rhian[/name]…pronounced [name]Ree[/name] - [name]Ann[/name], but I’ve heard it pronounced like [name]Ryan[/name] too.

I love [name]Romilly[/name] and [name]Rio[/name] from your list! [name]Romilly[/name] is so glamorous and unusual, and [name]Rio[/name] was a name I was convinced I’d use for a future daughter when I was younger … all because of the [name]Duran[/name] [name]Duran[/name] song. It actually doesn’t seem that masculine to me, and normally I really dislike masculine names on girls.

I’m not sure if [name]Romona[/name] or [name]Romilda[/name] have been mentioned, so I’ll chime in with those. Also :
[name]Rosario[/name] (unisex Spanish and Italian name, could nn to [name]Rio[/name])

Good luck! [name]Auburn[/name]

What about the name Runner

I like [name]Rachel[/name] or [name]Rachelle[/name] the most out of the R names. Theya re really cute and pretty.

Good luck,
