Warning for people dying/about to die (both a person terminally ill and a person murdered)
Ugo Mario Del Luca (18) is Daisy’s boyfriend and nephew of Annabella. He’s a very smart student in university but music is his passion and he’s happiest with music as his major. He’s not in any bands but adores Frankentrash and how the different cultures influence the music. Ugo is also a fan of photography and although he has no albums, he’s already created some great pictures for album covers. Ugo loves tattoos and while some want Ugo to stop the tattoos, Ugo wants even more. Ugo knows Molly has been someone Daisy has avoided due to her dangerous toxicity but Ugo and Daisy are happy Molly is forced to pay Ailbhe a hefty fine for harassing her into an eating disorder. Ugo mainly now is hoping Daisy’s parents accept him despite his love for grunge and Ugo is a supporter of the LGBTQUIAP + community and is bisexual. Some of Daisy’s cousins, including Ailbhe, do respect Ugo and Daisy being a couple.
Ugo’s family has also been supportive of the couple. Ugo doesn’t have enemies in his own family and is grateful for his father, siblings, aunt, uncle, cousins, grandmother…and real mother. Although Janelle Bouvier had been divorced from Antoine, Annabella’s husband, before Ugo was born, she knows Annabella is rich and famous. Janelle loves rich and famous people and wants to get in on their cash. While she knows Annabella is obviously not marrying her, she has a different way of getting money and power from the family. Annabella’s mother and Ugo’s Nonna (Italian for “Grandma”) is also rich but is in her 80s and very ill and frail, also suffering from memory loss. Last year, Janelle decided to take advantage of Nonna by telling her that she is her daughter-in-law and needs money and requested Nonna to give her a huge sum of her inheritance for the family and to help her “son” Ugo. She “proved” Ugo was her son by showing Nonna the old photos of her and “Ugo” (actually her late son Laurent). Nonna asked why Janelle’s son didn’t seem that enthusiastic to be in the photos and Janelle said “He’s just tired” and shrugged it off. Later Janelle got caught by Annabella and Annabella told her mother that Janelle isn’t related to her and is taking advantage. Janelle recently tried doing this again this year and used the same tactic to get past the nursing home staff but this time the staff said she was very sickly and didn’t want too many visitors and that Janelle should keep her time “short and sweet”. Janelle agreed and kept it short - but not sweet. Janelle actually did the opposite of what she did last time: she confessed that she took advantage of Nonna and got away with it and that Ugo isn’t her son; her son was Laurent Bouvier and she and her late brother Rene (better known as RB) killed him 5 years ago, pushing him down a master staircase and making it look accidental. She says she loves that people suspect her or RB as the killer but never say they both killed Laurent despite it being basic physics that two people pushing would have a stronger force. They wanted to make sure Laurent wouldn’t survive the fall. Janelle admits both of them looked away when Laurent was falling, they killed him but weren’t psychotic enough to actually want to watch him die. She didn’t mind confessing this for once, Nonna had serious memory loss and was going to die soon anyway so she figured Nonna would never report her. RB and Sophie had a couple’s getaway for the weekend and since Audrey and Dominic were juveniles at the time, there needed to be an adult watching them even though they were technically too old to be babysat. RB got Laurent to do it even though they hated each other but secretly hid cameras around the house. When RB watched that Laurent was doing “liberal stuff” and calling Dominic by his preferred name and gender that he was hiding from the family, that’s when RB knew Laurent was “a danger to his family” and wanted to get rid of him. As for Janelle, she wasn’t super conservative or strict, but she truthfully never cared about Laurent and hardly talked to him outside of giving him food and a shelter when he was a child. However she was truly offended when Laurent was caught on camera saying he felt like Janelle “wasn’t much of a mother” to him. Janelle raised him by herself (although she didn’t have to) and felt like she was the best mother ever but if Laurent didn’t feel like he had a mother, maybe she shouldn’t “have a son”. Speaking of cameras, Janelle better hope that nursing home room didn’t have cameras recording what she said…
Ugo is a fan of reality TV although some people he knows call it “garbage”. He doesn’t care for trashy fake people hogging screen time and loves any reality competition show that doesn’t do this. He is always thrilled by reality competition shows especially ones with powerful winners. He’s still not over how some contestants have gotten eliminated and truthfully he can get too wrapped up in them. So it’s no surprise when Ugo auditioned for one — and made it in! The show is called Ultimi Due (Italian for “Last Two”, this show is made up BTW) and the goal of this show is complete challenges and not be one of the last two to finish. When two people are last two to finish a challenge, the other contestants vote off either of the last two finishers out of the game. If there’s a tie, there’s a revote and if it’s still a tie, the bottom two have to do trivia until someone gets two points and they stay while the other leaves. Some are free-for-all when the last two finishing are up for the vote and some are tag-team where the last team of two are up for the vote. There’s also ways to get challenge advantages and give challenge disadvantages to other players and players can make alliances. When it gets to the final three, the first to finish is the only voter who gets to send someone home and choose who goes to the final 2 with them. In the finale, there’s one last big challenge made up of smaller challenges and first to finish that wins a million euros. There’s other international versions of the show but the Italian version is the original. Ugo has been a fan for quite some time so he’s excited to actually play. He barely survived the first challenge of Ultimi Due and the person he voted off didn’t leave, so it was awkward for Ugo. But he stepped it up next challenge and was first to finish but the person voted off wasn’t who Ugo wanted gone and was actually someone Ugo wanted to ally with. He knew it was because of the majority alliance but the next challenge was a tag-team challenge and he was paired with someone from that alliance. But he gave it his all and he and his partner survived the challenge while the losing tag team were both from the majority alliance. Ugo successfully voted off the person going home and he and his tag team partner of the challenge voted together and gained trust. Next challenge was free-for-all and Ugo was one of the last two but was not the one voted off since the majority alliance trusted him more and Ugo had a friend from a minority alliance who supported and befriended him, not wanting Ugo to leave. Next episode had another tag-team challenge and this time Ugo was paired with someone weak and not in the majority alliance. Odds were against them but they weren’t the last tag team to finish, so they were safe. The last tag team to finish were both majority alliance members, one being Ugo’s former partner in the first tag-team challenge, and the vote was close. Ugo successfully voted off the player who wasn’t his former tag-teammate, believing he and his former tag-teammate could work together. As the episodes went by, the majority alliance was dwindling and at the final four it was Ugo, his minority alliance friend, his former tag-team teammate on the majority alliance, and a majority alliance player who was always accurate every vote and hadn’t been last two before in a challenge…until he did and got voted off in 4th place. Ugo and his minority alliance friend were thrilled to take him out, sparing the former tag-teammate from being voted off. At the final 3, Ugo would be one of the last two to finish when his former tag-teammate won over him and his minority alliance friend. At the voteoff, Ugo was unfortunately betrayed by his former tag-teammate and sent home with his former tag-teammate apologising and saying he couldn’t beat Ugo at the finale. At the finale, it was ultimately Ugo’s minority alliance friend who won Ultimi Due and she won in an underdog victory against Ugo’s former tag-teammate with her strategy of simply knowing the whole game and using her full knowledge of it to her advantage. While the season hasn’t fully aired yet and Ugo can’t spoil details, he says it was a great experience and he’d definitely come back if asked and he hopes his family and friends enjoyed it. While only two episodes have aired, Ugo has been recognised in public by some people and a kid thought the show was filming when he saw Ugo at the grocery store. Ugo sadly felt like he was “ruining the magic” when he told the kid the show filmed months ago and he was just buying fruit…
