I went to school with a [name_f]Mette[/name_f]. She’s the only one I’ve ever met, and the name’s really stayed with me. Nameberry’s description says it’s a Scandinavian diminutive of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but my impression is that it’s actually short of Mechthild or [name_f]Mathilde[/name_f]/Matilda.

Her older sister was [name_f]Netta[/name_f], which I thought was really cool at the time, but these days those two names would be too matchy for me!

Lucia, pronounced loo-chee-uh. I love that pronunciation, it’s so fun and energetic!

[name_f]Rea[/name_f] - pronounced [name_u]Ray[/name_u]-uh not [name_f]Ree[/name_f]-uh
Isolina - a fresh alternative to [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
Merly - Estonian
[name_f]Sina[/name_f] - pronounced See-nuh

Celénie, Platon and [name_f]Rosalinda[/name_f]!

I went to school with a Maricruz and have always thought it was very pretty and an interesting compound name. Her sister was [name_f]Itzel[/name_f].

There’s a cashier at the grocery store near me named [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] and now I love that too.

There was a [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] and a [name_f]Valeria[/name_f] in my son’s preschool class last year.

And I met a baby [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] at the park a few weeks ago.

My grandma and [name_f]Kamala[/name_f] [name_m]Harris[/name_m] share one very gorgeous, meaningful name.

Also, I met this sibset, [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f], [name_f]Ana[/name_f], and Happiness when in Tanzania. Loved that!

Glenavon. I knew of a local woman named that, but I’ve never seen it anywhere else.

I used to teach a little girl Called [name_f]Amora[/name_f] (which is taken from the Italian word for ‘love’) and she had a brother called [name_u]Darien[/name_u] and a sister called [name_f]Cosima[/name_f]. Beautiful sib-set.

I also taught a girl called [name_f]Bluebelle[/name_f] who had two sister ([name_f]Eleana[/name_f] and [name_f]Malina[/name_f])

like vis a vis! I love the character

What character?

One of my best friends in school was [name_u]Loki[/name_u]! He had a younger brother [name_u]Wolf[/name_u] and younger twins who were called [name_m]Achilles[/name_m] and [name_u]Aster[/name_u]. He also had a half brother named [name_m]Jack[/name_m] (which was quite out of place I thought). What made it an even cooler name was that his surname was also from the [name_u]Marvel[/name_u] universe; Th0r5en!

Vimbai! (vimm-buy). Couldn’t help but tell her how cool I thought that name was, and she was thrilled that I said it correctly
