Nonbinary Parenting

For those who are Nonbinary parents or know of any, when their child goes up to said parent, do they say Mom/Dad even if they don’t align with the parent’s gender identity? (Mom being Female at birth, Dad being Male at birth)

I don’t have any problem with “gendered” terms myself, [name_f][/name_f] I just had curiosity as I like to be inclusive with my language but also learn from other perspectives

It varies from person to person!! Some use Mom/Dad, but some use [name_m]Ren[/name_m] (from paRENt). Apparently [name_f]Maddy[/name_f] is one some people use, too (like a mix of Mommy & Daddy), and I’ve also seen [name_f]Zizi[/name_f] and [name_f]Zaza[/name_f] suggested.

I personally plan to use [name_m]Amad[/name_m] (which comes from a conlang from a fantasy series which is meaningful to me), or [name_f]Daya[/name_f] (which is[name_f][/name_f] gendered, but afaik not used in [name_f]English[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- it means mother in my native language).

Hey you two, I don’t have that much to add, but I wanted to point out a similar older thread that I had bookmarked: 🌞 trans/non-binary parents
