Weâve got a scary update on our pregnancy: itâs twins.
As we went in to find out the gender (singular), we were enthusiastically told that âthey are both boys!â. I just about fell off the table. Not because of the boy thing, Iâm convinced we just cannot make girls haha. The sweet woman just had no idea we didnât know there were two in there.
Weâve kind of gotten over that initial shock, but in a few months, weâll have eight boys under 10 â thatâs still kinda scary, right?
In any case â we need two names now. We like [name_u]Julian[/name_u], [name_m]Joshua[/name_m], [name_u]Beau[/name_u], [name_u]Callum[/name_u], [name_m]Duncan[/name_m], and [name_m]Marcus[/name_m]. But which of these could be twins? What other names (containing a [u]) could we use (we already have Arthur, Lucas, Hugo, Edmund, Quentin, and Samuel).
Oh, and weâre also out of (family) middle names now. All our boys have long, classic middle names: [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u], [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], [name_m]Theodore[/name_m], and [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m].

Julian-I love love love this name. Itâs on my top three list, & it fits in beautifully w/your crew.
Joshua-This one doesnât do much for me. It just seems sort of 80s, I guess? Itâs not awful.
Beau-I donât hate it, but itâs just a little bro-ish sounding to me. I may be in the minority here. Your sonsâ names are just so handsome & sophisticated, & I donât know that [name_u]Beau[/name_u] fits that well. But again, if you love it, itâs not bad at all.
Callum-I love this name. Kind of prefer [name_m]Calum[/name_m], just because I feel like the nn [name_u]Cal[/name_u] makes more sense that way, & it looks sleeker. Itâs a bit sportier than your boysâ names, but it fits fine. Itâs very sweet & handsome & not too common.
Duncan-This fits w/your crew. Itâs not my personal favorite, because I feel like itâs almost too quirky. But itâs kind of fun.
Marcus-Oh, I like this for you. Honestly not a name that I usually care for, but itâs kind of unexpected & fits in really well.

Weâre currently debating whether or not to repeat initials. We havenât done that so far, but we love some names that would share an initial with a brother. What are your opinions/tips on this issue? Would it be weird to only start repeating now? Should we avoid giving the twins the same initial? What are your experiences?
