I’ve been rolling this name around in my head for the past few days. Can I get some reactions to [name]Pascaline[/name]?
Not a fan, sorry. It reminds me of the word “pasteurized”.
I have an aunt named Pascalina who Americanized her name to [name]Patsy[/name]…oh so many members of my family refuse to use their gorgeous Italian names!
I do think [name]Patsy[/name] makes a cute nn for [name]Pascaline[/name] or Pascalina though.
I think I prefer Pascalina over [name]Pascaline[/name], but it is very pretty.
I think it’s OK but I’m not a huge fan, I’ve never met her but a friend of a friend is named Pascaline and my Husband worked with one. It makes me think of Easter and springtime which is nice.
I found on a French board I post on a Pascaline who goes by Câline which means cuddly
I adore [name]Pascal[/name] on a boy so [name]Pascaline[/name] on a girl is pretty cool. I’d be more comfortable with it in middle territory, maybe that -ine ending is hard to pull off for most names, but the right girl could pull it off with the right nn options. [name]Patsy[/name] is good, maybe [name]Pax[/name] would be an option and Caline is cool : D. [name]Callie[/name] seems another friendly option.
I like it! It’s uncommon and provides some interesting nicknames. All and all, looks like a winner.
ETA: I forgot to say that I have Pasqua and Pasqualina (my great-grandmother’s sister’s name/nickname) on my list, so perhaps I’m biased.
I like it. I agree with others; it’s a winner
I don’t know any… but my former teacher’s daughter name is Pascalia (close enough). Everybody likes her name.
Like it!
I really don’t like it sorry,it sounds like a butter substitute.
I believe [name]Pascale[/name] has been used as the feminine form of [name]Pascal[/name] and I find it much more attractive.
Just noticed pp’s have suggested Pascalina…even though it’s a minor change,it changes my perception of the name entirely. Pascalina I really like
I’ll admit that it may be because of a personal place/family connection, but I really do like it!
I love [name]Pascaline[/name]!!! I’m pronouncing it Pass-cah-line, but I like Pass-cah-leen too! It sounds light and fluffy when you say it aloud, and I’m partial to P names
I think it’s pretty. I tried to think of anything that could be used to make fun of a [name]Pascaline[/name] and the only thing I could think of was Mescaline
I don’t care for it; but it’s just stylistically different from what I like. It just doesn’t sound pretty with that hard K sound in the middle, and I don’t find the -leen very attractive. It does have some similarity to [name]Kathleen[/name] and [name]Colleen[/name] but I don’t really like those names either. If it’s supposed to be pronounced -line, I think it sounds way too much like alkaline.
Best wishes.
It seems too long and forced. What about something simple like Pastel?
I think it sounds ridiculous to be honest. It just sounds long, made-up, and completely unusable.
Pascalina, on the other hand, is a little better. If you’re absolutely set on using something with “[name]Pascal[/name]” in it, I would choose this name. Though, stylistically, I am still not a fan. You must also be aware that she’s definitely going to want to shorten her name, so have a nickname handy.
Not a fan because I can’t figure out a decent NN for it.
I really like [name]Pascal[/name], but I’m not sure I’m 100% on board with [name]Pascaline[/name]. I agree with dresendoll that something about it seems a little forced.
[name]Love[/name] it, and [name]Pax[/name] would be a cute nn as a pp suggested. If it were Pascalina then [name]Lina[/name] would be a cute nn. I like it because it’s very pastel and fresh. I also like Pasqualina.
Seconded!
[name]Pascale[/name] however is very pretty!
