Princess Beatrice's #2

[name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and her husband [name_m]Edoardo[/name_m] Mapelli Mozzi are expecting their second child in spring 2025! Let’s start the predictions

Big siblings are [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] (Wolfie, from Edoardo’s first marriage)

What are your guesses?

For girls…
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Chiara[/name_f]
[name_f]Gaia[/name_f]

Wildcards: Mary/Maria, [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]

For boys…
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m]
[name_m]Dante[/name_m]
[name_m]Raphael[/name_m]

Wildcards: [name_m]Romeo[/name_m], [name_m]Philip[/name_m]

I’m kinda stumped for middle names, considering [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] used a lot of family ones for her two sons and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] already being used by [name_f]Sienna[/name_f].

Curious to see what all of you think!!

edited for spelling

[name_f]Florence[/name_f] or [name_m]Luca[/name_m]

I think she’s pretty close to her mum, so [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] in the middle is a possibility? Edoardo’s parents are [name_f]Nikki[/name_f] and [name_m]Alex[/name_m], so they might make an appearance. For first names, I’m thinking classic, popular and well-used in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] and Enland!
Girls:
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] (probably my front runner)
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
Boys:
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] (my top choice)
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Noah[/name_m]
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]

I definitely think they’ll find a nice balance between Italian & [name_f]English[/name_f] names, but not leaning too traditional either way.
Girls:
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]

I’m so excited for them and of course the chance to guess a [name_f]Royal[/name_f] baby name!

I’m thinking they will choose another underrated name that has [name_f]British[/name_f] or Italian roots.

[name_f]Girl[/name_f]:

[name_f]Ruby[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Arabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Elodie[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (probably not likely with [name_m]Prince[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m] but I love it with Sienna)
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]

Boys:

[name_m]Enzo[/name_m]
[name_m]Arlo[/name_m]
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Theo[/name_m]
[name_m]Julian[/name_m]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]
[name_m]Elio[/name_m]

For middle names, I think we could see [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], [name_f]Nicola[/name_f], [name_f]Susan[/name_f] or [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] for a girl’s middle name.

For a boy, maybe [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m], [name_m]Edoardo[/name_m], or [name_m]Philip[/name_m].

@Mary_Rose @jalexis15 okay I’m kinda kicking myself for not thinking of [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] in the middle name!!!

I’ve seen many people speculate that [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is an honour for [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] due to its’ meaning (sienna = red → sarah and her vibrant red hair), do we think there’s any truth in that?

After a night’s sleep, my top choice for now for a girl is [name_f]Alice[/name_f]! Edoardo’s sister is [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f], and it would also honour prince Philip’s mother, [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] of Battenberg.

some honour names I’ve thought of after a quick wikipedia search

  • Angela/Angelina/Angelique → Pss. Beatrice’s great grandmother, the [name_f]Queen[/name_f] Mother, had [name_f]Angela[/name_f] as one of her middle names
  • [name_f]Mariana[/name_f] → Pss. [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] had a great grandmother with the name [name_f]Marian[/name_f] who also happened to be related to Pss. [name_f]Alice[/name_f], the [name_f]Duchess[/name_f] of Gloucester, who was an aunt-in-law of QEII. [name_m]Can[/name_m] you tell I’m rooting for [name_f]Alice[/name_f]?
  • Any variation of [name_f]Doreen[/name_f] → Pss. Beatrice’s had a great grandmother called [name_f]Doreen[/name_f], who was Sarah’s maternal grandmother

That’s it for now, but who knows what else I come up with in the coming months!

Well last time I thought they might name their daughter [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], and I’m still a little upset about how close and yet so far I was from a correct prediction.

I’m with @highhippogriff in thinking [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is a really good option.

I think my left field guess for a girl is [name_f]Florence[/name_f], it’s around the same popularity in the UK as [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and like [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], it ties to an Italian place name.

For a boy I think it would be a short and sweet -o ending name that’s popular in the UK so [name_m]Leo[/name_m] (nice tie in with half-brother Wolfie), [name_m]Theo[/name_m], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] or my personal bet [name_m]Arlo[/name_m].

[name_f]My[/name_f] full name bets would be [name_m]Arlo[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

So based on them choosing [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] I think they will pick another name that works in both Italian and [name_f]English[/name_f], with an honour middle name. I think if it’s a boy the middle name will be [name_m]Philip[/name_m] (like Zara’s and Eugenie’s sons) or [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m] (after Edo’s middle name and his dad’s name)

Girls:
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f]
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] (sounds similar to [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] to honour mum)
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] (one of Eugenie’s middle names)
[name_f]Gabriella[/name_f]
[name_f]Sofia[/name_f]

Wildcard: [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] or [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]

I initially thought a boy might be [name_m]Luca[/name_m] but I think that’s too close to Zara’s son Lucas’ name

Boys:
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]
[name_m]Nico[/name_m] (based on Edo’s mum’s name Nikki)
[name_m]Alex[/name_m] (Edo’s middle name and father’s name is Alessandro)
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]

[name_m]Wild[/name_m] [name_m]Card[/name_m]: [name_m]Enzo[/name_m] or [name_m]Max[/name_m] (Maximilian)

Combinations:
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]
[name_m]Nico[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m]
[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m]

Well.

Margarer might be an option for middle names. It is Sarahs middle Name

[name_m]Or[/name_m] [name_f]Susan[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] after her maternal grandmother

[name_m]Philip[/name_m] or [name_m]Ivor[/name_m] (middle Name of Sarahs Father)

His maternal gramdparents [name_m]David[/name_m] and [name_f]Susan[/name_f].

[name_f]Susan[/name_f] would honor his grandmother and her grandmother

His paternal grandparents Gianpaolo and [name_f]Gigliola[/name_f].

[name_f]Susan[/name_f] [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f]

[name_f]Susan[/name_f] after their grandmothers and [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] after [name_m]Edoardo[/name_m] and his father

I like [name_f]Susan[/name_f] as a middle Name

I’m not very good at guessing these things, so I initially wasn’t going to even throw out any options, but I figured I shouldn’t pass up the opportunity.

A little sibling for [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] “Wolfie” and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] Elizabeth…

Boys . . .
[name_f]Sasha[/name_f]: From [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m], Edoardo’s middle name and his father’s first name.
[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]: Pairs nicely with [name_m]Christopher[/name_m], would have a tie to Edoardo’s mom’s name, [name_f]Nicola[/name_f].
[name_m]Fergus[/name_m]: Perhaps inspired by Sarah’s maiden name, [name_m]Ferguson[/name_m].
[name_m]Nikolai[/name_m]: A bit more of an out-there choice compared to [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m], but still honors [name_f]Nicola[/name_f].
[name_m]Vincent[/name_m]: This doesn’t have much meaning, but I think the similar sounds of “vihn” and “ehn” in [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], and the strong but understated feel of [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] and [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m] go well together.
[name_m]Edwin[/name_m]: Good to honor [name_m]Edoardo[/name_m] slightly indirectly. [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m], [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], and [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] would be cute siblings!

Girls . . .
[name_f]Diana[/name_f] / [name_f]Diane[/name_f]: Edoardo’s mother’s middle name, obvious connection to [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f].
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]: [name_f]An[/name_f] honor for Beatrice’s mother, [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f].
[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]: I’m not sure this is “royal enough,” but I think it is a nice honor for [name_f]Sarah[/name_f], and pairs well with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f].
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]: Could be seen as too “bland” next to the likes of [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m], but I like this as an honor for both [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] (with the similar sounds the second syllable of [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] and Jane) and [name_f]Lady[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Dawnay.
[name_f]Victoire[/name_f]: A spin on the family name [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], which I could also see them using.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]: As said above, could definitely see them using this, if not in the first then surely the middle. Beatrice’s first middle is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], which they used for [name_f]Sienna[/name_f], and Eugenie’s is [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], so it’d be the perfect match. Also has a tie to [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f].

Wildcards . . .
[name_m]Bertie[/name_m]: Edo’s great grandfather’s (?) name was [name_m]Robert[/name_m]. Perhaps a fuller form, I’m particularly thinking of [name_m]Albert[/name_m].
[name_f]Jubilee[/name_f]: Is this name considered a bit of a faux pas for a royal to use? I’m not entirely sure.
[name_m]Felix[/name_m]: I’m not aware of much royal news or members, so this could be used too much for them to pick it, but I think it pairs nicely with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and well with [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m], too.
[name_f]Lennon[/name_f] / [name_m]Lenny[/name_m]: [name_f]Lennon[/name_f] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] are quite similar style-wise to me, although I’d lean more towards [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] as one that’s more “royal-esque.” [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] has a tie to [name_f]Princess[/name_f] Eugenie’s second middle name, [name_f]Helena[/name_f].

Of these, I’d be the most excited for them to use [name_f]Sasha[/name_f], [name_m]Bertie[/name_m], or [name_m]Lenny[/name_m], although I’m not particularly sure any of them are likely. I’d be most inclined to say they’ll go with [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] for a middle if it’s a girl and [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] for a boy. We shall see!

Girls-

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - my top choice with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f]. Feels modern yet soft, elegant and lyrical, and has Italian / Latin heritage.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] - classic, timeless.
[name_f]Serafina[/name_f] - feels playful with both [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] yet still royal enough!
[name_f]Florence[/name_f] - i’m 50/50 on this but [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] are such playful names I feel like maybe?
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Ottilie[/name_f]

[name_m]Wild[/name_m] card
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]. ([name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] was wife of [name_m]William[/name_m] IV.) I really like this paired with [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m], and I think it would be quite a sweet, modern sibset for royals.

Boys-

[name_m]Benedict[/name_m] - my top choice
[name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] -I can see them using this as a middle but he would go by [name_m]Max[/name_m], similar to [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] Woolfe- [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m].
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] -
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m]

[name_f]Susan[/name_f] [name_f]Alessandra[/name_f] would honor both of their maternal grandmothers as well as [name_m]Edoardo[/name_m] and his father.

Maybe [name_m]Sandro[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m]. After [name_m]Edo[/name_m] and his father as well as [name_m]Price[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m]

[name_m]Or[/name_m] [name_m]Sandro[/name_m] [name_m]Ivor[/name_m]. After [name_m]Edo[/name_m] and his father as well as her matrrnal grandfsther [name_m]Ronald[/name_m] [name_m]Ivor[/name_m]. [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] used his first Name to honor him with her second son.

I’ve had this in the back of my mind to play prediction on but haven’t had the time until now.

I saw that they call her [name_f]Cece[/name_f] so something easily nicknameable seems to be key. [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] is extremely popular in the UK (I remember being surprised to see how popular), while still feeling Italian. I’m hoping they don’t do [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], both because it’s so popular and also because they already used [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] in the middle.

[name_f]Zara[/name_f] has a little boy named [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] so I am reluctantly not including [name_m]Luca[/name_m] as a prediction. I also saw that [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is one of Edo’s stepsiblings which really threw me because [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] would be so great here.

[name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] feels very literary but I have a hard time seeing them going that way (given Sienna’s name). Plus [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] makes it hard - [name_m]Dante[/name_m] would be great but [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] & [name_m]Dante[/name_m] are so [name_m]Divine[/name_m] Comedy, [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] would be cute but [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] & [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] are very Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f] About Nothing.

Hot take but I think it will be something that will be surprising but due to how modern it is rather than how name nerdy it is (sorry to anyone guessing Genoveva). Though thisq was also the first time I realized that [name_m]Edo[/name_m] has a half brother [name_m]Albemarle[/name_m] “Alby” - how cool?!

[name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m] don’t seem to be an honor names but [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] & [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] both are. I’m including a few honor-ish picks (Nico for Nicola) but I think most will be contained to the middle spot (or non every day spot in case they throw me by having the baby go by their middle name). I’d be particularly charmed to see [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] because it would be a nod to [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] as well as the fact that everyone says [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] looks like [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and even casted her in The [name_m]Young[/name_m] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. Also [name_f]Mary[/name_f] because it’s Beatrice’s other middle name and she wore the [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] Fringe tiara for her wedding or [name_f]Nicola[/name_f] for Edo’s mom or [name_f]Susan[/name_f] as [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] and [name_m]Edo[/name_m] both have grandmothers named [name_f]Susan[/name_f]. For a boy, I think the obvious candidate is [name_m]Philip[/name_m] but we may also see [name_m]Ronald[/name_m] or [name_m]Alessandro[/name_m].

Coming back to add one that just popped into my mind. I could also see them using [name_m]Elliot[/name_m] or [name_m]Ellis[/name_m]! I think Elliot’s a bit more likely, and pairs well with both [name_m]Wolfie[/name_m] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_f]Sienna[/name_f] and [name_m]Christopher[/name_m].
