My sister’s name is [name]Sidonie[/name].
It’s not really a “rare” name, since it’s quite popular in [name]France[/name], and not too difficult to find in the US, but it is far from common. We pronounce it like “[name]Si[/name]-[name]DOE[/name]-nee” but we’ve heard some frenchies place the accent on the “si”. It’s a family name of ours.
Some nicknames that have evolved from it are:
[name]Sid[/name]
Ni Ni
Bologna (As well as Macaroni)
I think it’s more refreshing than [name]Sydney[/name].
I checked these out on ssa.gov so I will include the highest ranking (out of 1000) since 2000.

My son’s name is [name]Nixon[/name], and my neighbor’s son is [name]Gannon[/name]. I hadn’t heard either of these names before we used them. Now, I know of three other Nixons…
I’m interested in the names everyone is posting - we’re trying to name our second son due in [name]August[/name] and are having a really hard time since [name]Nixon[/name] is so unique…
The rarest name i have heard is Orry. Although i do not like the name at all u may like it. The Orry i know is very mean, gets in trouble alot, and has been held back 3 times! [name]Don[/name]'t know if this will ruin it for you but good luck!
