Space name for girl!

So my hubby and I are about to have our second daughter. We’re both pretty nerdy and really like sci-fi stuff, so when our first baby came along we wanted to give her a spce-themed name. We named her [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] (Latin name for [name_f]Earth[/name_f]/name of a comet). We came up with that one fairly quickly, maybe 2 weeks after we found out we were pregnant.

Now I’m due in 6 weeks and we STILL don’t have a solid name! We really want to stick with our space theme but we’re running short on ideas. Possibilities we’ve come up with are:
[name_f]Luna[/name_f] (Latin name for [name_f]Moon[/name_f])
[name_f]Mona[/name_f] (Old English name for [name_f]Moon[/name_f])
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] (name of a comet)
[name_f]Nova[/name_f] (an explosion in a star that causes it to brighten)
[name_m]Marsden[/name_m] ([name_m]Mars[/name_m] as a nickname)

Any good combos of these names or your own additions would be greatly appreciated! We need a first and middle name.

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Aura[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f],

Stellar ([name_f]Stella[/name_f] for short), [name_f]Liora[/name_f] for the middle name.

Rayah ([name_f]My[/name_f] son likes that name for a future daughter he states the meaning is a cosmic rainbow)Middle name [name_f]Elani[/name_f] which is from the “[name_f]Star[/name_f] Trek Voyager” meaning Innocence: thus Rayah [name_f]Elani[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Nova[/name_f] & [name_f]Luna[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]?

I love [name_f]Luna[/name_f].

What about:
[name_u]Vega[/name_u]
[name_f]Selena[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] suggested combination: [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]. It has a good rhythm on the tongue. [name_f]Luna[/name_f] and [name_f]Terra[/name_f] is also a pretty way to contrast your daughters’ names as [name_f]Earth[/name_f] and [name_f]Moon[/name_f].

Some other celestial names…

I won’t write long because I’m usimg my tab atm, but those all are star/constellation/moon/celestial related name.

I might avoid [name_f]Nova[/name_f] as a first name. There was/is a television series called, [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_f]Nova[/name_f]. Unless, you know…that appeals to you!

I like [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_u]Vesper[/name_u], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_u]Seren[/name_u] (Welsh for star) and Gwenno (Old Welsh name for [name_f]Venus[/name_f]). [name_m]How[/name_m] about something from [name_f]Star[/name_f] Trek, Uhura sounds really good with [name_f]Terra[/name_f]!

I love [name_f]Cosima[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]! Good luck:)

I love the name [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]. It means sun in french. Its pronounced So-lay. I like [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] [name_f]Elara[/name_f].

[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_m]Jupiter[/name_m]
Soliel

[name_f]My[/name_f] absolutely favourite space name is [name_u]Vega[/name_u] - as nameberry says “relating to one of the largest and brightest stars in the heavens”. I think it might go well in sibset with [name_f]Terra[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] other favourite space names not included on your list include [name_f]Selena[/name_f] (moon), [name_f]Estrella[/name_f] (star), [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] (star) and [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] (mother earth).
From your choices I’d prefer [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_m]Marsden[/name_m] or [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]; not a fan of [name_f]Nova[/name_f] (especially in sibset with [name_f]Terra[/name_f]) or [name_f]Mona[/name_f]; also not a fan of [name_f]Faye[/name_f] or [name_m]Marsden[/name_m] as a first name.

  1. [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] and [name_u]Vega[/name_u] [name_m]Marsden[/name_m]
  2. [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] and [name_u]Vega[/name_u] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_m]Marsden[/name_m]
  5. [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] and [name_f]Selena[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
  6. [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] and [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
  7. [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u] and [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] [name_u]Vega[/name_u] [name_m]Marsden[/name_m]

I think you’ve chosen beautiful theme for your daughter’s names! Good luck with choosing the perfect name for baby #2

Really don’t recommend [name_f]Terra[/name_f] and [name_f]Nova[/name_f]…

[name_f]Terra[/name_f] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f] are adorable together, though!

I adore [name_f]Nova[/name_f]! It has the same vibe as [name_f]Terra[/name_f] but is unique on it’s own. I don’t know why pp said not to put them together. [name_f]Nova[/name_f] is a beautiful name!

Other ideas:
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
[name_f]Leora[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f] (short for [name_f]Cassiopeia[/name_f])
[name_u]Andrea[/name_u] ([name_f]Andromeda[/name_f])
[name_f]Leia[/name_f]

[name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] would be beautiful!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about:
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Astra[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f]

I love the [name_f]Chandra[/name_f] suggestion too

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Terra[/name_f] [name_u]Halley[/name_u]!
I think it would go best with [name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] from your choices.
As would suggest [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
Good [name_m]Luck[/name_m]!

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] stuck out when I read your list… I really love that combo, flows wonderfully!

If not, how about:

[name_f]Stella[/name_f] (means ‘star’)
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] (goddess of the moon, means ‘radiant, shining one’)
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] (the titan of sight and the shining light of the clear blue sky, means ‘goddess, godly’)
[name_u]Seren[/name_u] (means ‘star’)
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (a constellation name taken from the lyre of [name_m]Orpheus[/name_m], contains the star [name_u]Vega[/name_u])
[name_f]Astra[/name_f] (means ‘of the stars’)
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f] (means ‘divinely beautiful’, sounds astronomical)

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] would go great with [name_f]Terra[/name_f]!!!

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f] is gorgeous! I used to have it as a combo, with [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] as a first.
