Ok, I’m not going to reply with quotes, but I’ll answer/comment on everything!
[name]Lemon[/name] #1 - [name]Fiona[/name] and [name]Estella[/name] is actually an appealing pair to me right now. [name]Fiona[/name] and [name]Rosaleen[/name] or [name]Rosalie[/name] is also one I’d like to think more about. using another [name]Rose[/name]-name feels a little uncreative to me, but I can live with it. I feel like it would be overkill to give her a flower mn too though, so the twins would definitely need their own themed middle names.
Kyemsma - [name]Audrey[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] has a really interesting feel. The names feel different, but they kinda work together. [name]Annabel[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] is just an adorable and almost ‘too perfect’ twin set. I’d suggest this to someone in a heartbeat. I don’t know if it’s for me though. The names are a little too sweet and innocent
bedhead - [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] are two of my favorites from the list. I worry about [name]Amelia[/name]'s popularity (some top 30ish names I don’t see at all in my everyday life-- other names, like [name]Amelia[/name], I see alot). [name]Eleanor[/name] is a name I’ve loved since I was a teenager. I don’t know if she’s the perfect sister for [name]Scarlett[/name] and [name]Penelope[/name], but the name is definitely still on the short list. I think my DH likes it so much too because I’ve talked about it for years!
turquoisekitty- [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Francine[/name] has a certain charm to it for me. I like the repeated C’s I think (but how they have different sounds). I’ve been thinking about [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] together too- it’s cute right?
gwensmom- thanks for your brutal honesty! I need that. [name]Mildred[/name] is a “dreary sounding” name. I feel like she needs a chance though. Great point about [name]Delilah[/name]. I’m telling you I NEVER gave the name a second look and up until an hour ago, I had never even given the nameberry page a glance. I didn’t realize it meant seductress. I don’t like that meaning at all. So, [name]Delilah[/name] is leaving the list.
I do see the [name]Gen[/name] & [name]Penny[/name] concerns. I often call [name]Penny[/name] just [name]Pen[/name] and I can definitely see myself calling [name]Gen[/name], [name]Genny[/name]. So, I think is probably worrysome. I like [name]Evie[/name] as a nn, but it’s not the “natural/obvious” nn. that annoys me a little.
I’m waivering on [name]Tabitha[/name] right now, but I do admit, [name]Tabitha[/name] and [name]Estella[/name] make a great pair.
suzannevk - (E)[name]Stella[/name] and [name]Fiona[/name] is a good option
lyndsay- I also thank you for the great opinions and honesty! [name]Fia[/name] is a great nn option for [name]Fiona[/name]. I was also thinking of calling her “[name]Fay[/name]” (instead of [name]Fee[/name]- I think it feels a little lighter and more feminine). I just asked [name]Carly[/name] (she speaks spanish better than me) “doesn’t fia mean ugly in Spanish?” “No mom that is fea” me -“ok what does fia mean, if anything” her- “it’s a verb -to buy.”
[name]Carly[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] is a concern I have too. As with [name]Penny[/name]/[name]Pen[/name] above, [name]Carly[/name] sometimes get shortened to Car. Car and [name]Cor[/name] (caust that A would just be so hard for me to say- lol) is lame.
You can picture [name]Natasha[/name] or not?
Were all the [name]Vanessa[/name]'s you knew mean? [name]Lemon[/name] and I have a theory? haha!
mommyx3 - aww, I’m sorry you are back at the drawing board with your girl names too. I’ll check for your posts and see if I can offer any support. I do see the benefit of waiting until after birth. My DH says he disliked the names we picked “all along” but it only seemed to come out when others expressed concerns. I’m fine w/ negative thoughts- people will grow to like it or just move on ya know? I have always announced the names before birth and I didn’t feel any compelling urge not to this time.
[name]Lemon[/name] #2 (Limon as you’re known sometimes)- looking at [name]Estella[/name] and [name]Genevieve[/name] in your post just now got me thinking-- what if I called [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Genna[/name] ([name]Jenna[/name]). I like [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Genna[/name]. although carly, penny, stella, and genna sounds a little silly now that I think it through.
[name]Cassandra[/name] - [name]Cassie[/name] is a nn I like, but it’s kinda close to [name]Carly[/name]…though not as close as [name]Cora[/name], so maybe it should come back?
[name]Christabel[/name] and [name]Christiana[/name] - I know male and female chris’s and don’t feel like there is room to add another one right now.
[name]Elaina[/name] - I have bad karma with the name [name]Elena[/name].
[name]Esmeralda[/name] - hehe, I’ll tell him I picked that instead of [name]Mirabelle[/name].
[name]Helena[/name] - looooove it (it’s like my favorite H name out there) but I alternate between pronunciations and DH says the 3rd one, so if we can’t agree in our house, it probably isn’t ready for our family. I really wish there was only one right way (or a “most popular”) way to say this name.
[name]Katharine[/name] - [name]Katrina[/name] made the “short-ish” list last night. I have nothing bad to say about that or [name]Katharine[/name].
[name]Lydia[/name] - I have nothing negative to say about this either. I don’t think DH is keen on the name though
[name]Magdalen/name(a) - I tried to push this last night. It didn’t get very far, but we never really finished talking about it or said yes or no. I’ll see what he thinks.
[name]Ramona[/name] - I like this
[name]Rosalind[/name] - I prefer [name]Rosaleen[/name]/line or [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Camille[/name]/[name]Camilla[/name] - too much alliteration w/ a last name starting w/ [name]Cam[/name]
[name]Corina[/name] - could be my perfect name! [name]Cora[/name] + [name]Rena[/name] = [name]Corina[/name]… I’m in love. seriously… I haven’t felt this “into” a name in 2 days. I think people would automatically pronounce it [name]Cor[/name]-rinna though. so I don’t even know if I’m into it.
[name]Eloise[/name] -I tried, but I can’t embrace it.
[name]Genevieve[/name] - already discussed. [name]Genna[/name] is my fav. nn now.
[name]Giselle[/name] - I don’t love that.
[name]Vivien[/name]/an/ne - I don’t know what it is, but something is holding me back from this name.
Thanks all-- I’m basically still thinking and trying to figure out where we stand right now.
