This is such a nice post, [name]Josie[/name]! You are wonderful yourself. I wish I could see your artwork, and you could see mine. [name]Love[/name] [name]Mirabelle[/name] and, is your other daughter’s name [name]Penelope[/name]? I think it is. Let me know. I really can’t remember things. It’s a wonder I remember names to put on my lists.
I love opals! Thanks! And I use lots of moisturizer, so more that smells lovely would be great. Is it dry where you live in Australia? It is pretty dry here. [name]Love[/name] rainbows! I’m so happy to know so many other people who love names. It makes me happy every day! I think of all of you as my friends even though I can’t see you.
Oh, I love it!!!

What is/are your favorite thing(s) about [name]Susan[/name]? [name]Susan[/name], you have an incredibly dry sense of humor that always cracks me up! You are truly reliable, straight forward and unyielding with suggestions. You rarely get flustered with fickle mommies (I surely fall under that category), but further assist them.
-
What name do you now love because of [name]Susan[/name]? I’m a HUGE [name]Peter[/name] fan now. I also loved a suggestion you had of [name]Plum[/name] as a middle name - delightful. I wish I could have gottent he DH to go for it.
-
What gem most reminds you of [name]Susan[/name]? (We’ll add it to her crown…) I’m going to say an [name]Emerald[/name]. [name]Reason[/name] being is that it’s the stone of the [name]Taurus[/name]. Taureans are strong and true and that reminds me of [name]Susan[/name]'s personality (btw, [name]Susan[/name], if you’re a [name]Taurus[/name], I’m a genuis!).
-
If you could send [name]Susan[/name] a gift, what would it be, and why? Hmmmm. That’s kind of tough. Maybe a new lap top? Definitely something practical.
-
If [name]Susan[/name] were a color, which would she be? Purple. Feminine, but not too feminine. Bold. And I like that it’s a mixture of blue and red. [name]Blue[/name] being fluid and calm and red being firey, I think it’s a great mix that equals balance… which is what you are!
You’re the greatest, [name]Susan[/name]! Thanks for all of your great suggestions.
[name]Hi[/name] [name]Susan[/name], thank you! My other daughters name is [name]Genevieve[/name]. Although they always go by [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Mira[/name] or [name]Mira[/name] and [name]Evie[/name]. And I read about your collages, they sound really amazing! I just finished a big purple chalk pastel cockatoo. I do alot of different artwork but the ones I sell best are canvases. I like to do canvases with big bunches of flowers or lots of flowers. Last week I went to [name]Melbourne[/name] and saw [name]Salvador[/name] Dali’s paintings, I think they travelled from [name]Philadelphia[/name]. It was my first night without the girls which was nice but strange. He was an amazing amazing painter!! I love to do sculptures but I usually love them so much I give them to family and friends or keep them, I find it much easier to sell paintings.
I use alot of moisturiser as well, haha. It is very very dry where I live. The state I live in is mostly rural except for the coast line. I live in the city, Brisbane and we are starting to come out of the worst drought ever that went for a decade or something crazy like that. Our water restrictions were so high! It was no watering gardens, 4 minute showers and laundry water had to be recycled. Now it is getting better but water conservation is still a big deal.
It is so hot now. [name]Even[/name] though it is winter, about a fortnight ago it got up to 38 degrees celsius
I’m so happy to meet people that love names as well! Nameberry is almost the only reason I use the computer now. It is a real community ![]()
Dear [name]Carter[/name],
Thank you for your delightful and warm post! I love to help people think of names, even if they don’t share my taste, don’t listen to me, like yooneek names, whatever! I am so obsessed with names, I just keep trying. But I don’t post on all the threads because it would wear me out. Once I give a mom or dad a list, I don’t worry about what name they select. Since I never see them and I don’t really know them, I usually get the most excited about the names themselves, and that they’re in print on a list. I’m happy that other posters are looking at them. I know, that’s weird. It’s like naming little bits of space that float through computerland. I just love typed names. They look so important in a list! But sometimes I bond with the poster and I feel like I know them. That has happened several times, with [name]Blake[/name]'s family and with [name]Josie[/name] and some other people that I can’t remember now, but I remember the joy I felt when they announced their babies were born.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Peter[/name] and [name]Plum[/name]. [name]Plum[/name] is a great middle name!
I am wearing purple today, a muted lavender T-shirt. [name]Love[/name] periwinkle blue, too!
[name]Love[/name] Emeralds. I am a Virgo, though.
Hmmm, if I had my own laptop and didn’t have to share with others in my family, I might be on the computer all the time. That wouldn’t be good!
That’s right, [name]Genevieve[/name]! I knew it was one of my favorites - the patron saint of [name]Paris[/name]. [name]Penelope[/name] is also a favorite of mine, that’s why I got mixed up. [name]Love[/name] those beautiful long names with lots of syllables! [name]Mira[/name] and [name]Evie[/name] are cute nicknames. I wish I could see your whole family!
Your art sounds wonderful! Wish I could see it, too. I think Dali is amazing, and he has influenced me. I never know what’s going to happen when I start one of my collages. They always end up looking very fanciful. My kids say my art looks kind of like Chagall.
I am going to bring some of my artwork to church this [name]Sunday[/name]. We are going to have a big display of art. I am trying to think of what to bring. Probably the dove and the fires, and maybe a watercolor of two girls that I know from [name]Kenya[/name]. Maybe my [name]Jackie[/name] [name]Wilson[/name] portrait. Or my Pottery [name]Barn[/name] [name]Madonna[/name] and Child. We will see.
I don’t know about celsius here. We have Fahrenheit. It was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit during the fires and extremely dry. That’s why the firemen couldn’t contain the fires for so long. Now my favorite mountains by where I grew up are black with white and gray ashes on them. When I see them, I pretend they’re not real. That’s the only way I can deal with it. They are so ugly! But I still love them because they are mine. In about ten or fifteen years they will look a lot better.
I love Chagall!!! I love Portrait with a wineglass. It is the same shape as the eiffel tower. I also love Miro. The works initially look simple but they are so complex…
Good luck with your art display, it sounds great! I looked up Fahrenheit and 38 celsius is about 100… and that is in winter!! It isn’t always that hot in winter here tho. It gets very cold. For about three days, haha.
I’m sorry to hear about the fires, just remember that new life and trees will come out of those mountains soon.
In February this year [name]Victoria[/name] (about two hours from me and where I went to uni) had very bad bushfires, about 200 people died and 400 injured. I would have hated to be close to that, it’s so sad. I hope that your family and friends and their homes are all okay.
I am reading nameberry in between doing the washing. I don’t know how two little babies that don’t do much go through so many clothes!!
[quote=“josie”][quote=“susan”]That’s right, [name]Genevieve[/name]! I knew it was one of my favorites - the patron saint of [name]Paris[/name]. I have a theory that the younger you are or the older you are, the more clothes and stuff you need. When you’re in a college dorm, you don’t need much. That time plus maybe your early to mid-twenties are the simplest. But babies need so much stuff! Fortunately, a lot of their stuff is tiny so it doesn’t take up so much room. But their strollers, baby swings, car seats, playpens, and highchairs take up so much room, it’s unbelievable. And I never had twins. It’s twice as much stuff, huh? When we had our first baby [name]Peter[/name], we had to live in a second story apartment in Hollywood with no air conditioner and no laundry facilities. We were in our mid-twenties. [name]Peter[/name] slept in the dining room because we only had one bedroom. My husband’s Grandma [name]Cecilia[/name] came over once a week and got our laundry. She took it home and washed it, and then brought it back. She did this for several weeks. My mom came over every day for six weeks and helped me because I wasn’t doing that well (don’t ask!), and [name]Peter[/name] was very ill when he was born. He had trouble breathing. But he got better very quickly.
Only a few people died or were injured in the fires. Everyone I know is fine, and their houses are okay. Some people had bad asthma though, and had to leave the area. My asthma acted up, and I hardly got anything done during the fires.
We went to see my mother-in-law today in her little convalescent home. The home is only two blocks away from the wild brush. She told us that a bear has been coming into the backyard of the home. That is very unusual for around here. The poor bear has lost most of its home to the fires. It is a black bear, not a Grizzly of course. We don’t have Grizzlies around here.
[/quote][/quote]
Your clothes theory is so true! I think from when I was about 20-23 I had one pair of jeans I wore almost every day!! That’s good that no one was hurt. And poor bear! I hope it finds a new home. It’s so strange to me that there are bears where you live… the only things that come in our backyard are seagulls! Today I was at a cafe near a very busy road and I saw a mother duck and her babies about to try and cross, I didn’t want them to because I thought they would definitely get killed. But the mother duck managed to lead four babies across six lanes of traffic! It was amazing and so cute. They followed her in a little line and if the mum jumped over something the babies would to. I think ducks are very good parents. I had a duck when I was young called [name]Alice[/name]. She was gorgeous but made such a mess of our garden!
From the beleaguered NB husband ([name]Kent[/name]),

I have come to pay tribute!

What is/are your favorite thing(s) about [name]Susan[/name]? [name]Susan[/name] has an appreciation for a variety of names, is upbeat and tactful, and starts many interesting threads. Also, I’m loving this thing with the capes!

If you could send [name]Susan[/name] a gift, what would it be, and why? Homemade chocolate chip cookies, 'cause it’s hard to go wrong with those. Tell me you like chocolate, [name]Susan[/name]; I’m trying to remember.

-
If [name]Susan[/name] were a color, which would she be? I’m going to go with turquoise (that’s a compliment).
Thank you! Very happy to hear that people enjoy some of the things I write…I always hope so
[name]Just[/name] so you know, I’d much rather talk about names than whales
I’m glad I’ve found a place to do so. Since my hubby and I have been married almost 2 years I couldn’t dream of talking about names with any family/friends. They automatically assume it means I’m pregant or we’re trying. Which is not the case… So here I have a free place to obsess along with you and all the other wonderful nameberry posters…and it’s been wonderful!
As long as you’ll all have me…I’ll stick around
[name]Susan[/name], I’m glad you love emeralds. They are my birth stone and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I just [name]LOVE[/name] them!
And hugs to baby [name]Benjamin[/name] and all your friends/family!
Dear Teabee,
Thank you for posting! [name]Aren[/name]'t capes funny? And the great thing about them is that the only place they get too tight is around the neck. That can easily be adjusted.
Yeah, [name]Peter[/name] is such a cool name. But a lot of people think it is so tame. I just don’t get that. It’s like saying that yachts are boring. Or that the sky is boring.
[name]Love[/name] jade! And I love homemade chocolate chip cookies, too! I love [name]Cocoa[/name] Krispies, but they don’t sell them at my supermarket anymore.
[name]Turquoise[/name] is one of my very, very fave colors, thanks!
Dear [name]Queenie[/name],
Is your cape trimmed with ermine now?
love
Redriding
ha,ha, ha!
[name]Susan[/name], I had the weirdest dream last night, featuring your son, [name]Peter[/name]! He was walking around saying, “I am [name]Peter[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]! Vote for me because my name rules!” Can you believe it? [name]How[/name] random a dream is that?!
I hope you and Mr. Mokey are doing well!
This is very odd. I will have to tell him about your dream. He is already bewildered because we talk about his name on Nameberry.
I have dreamed about Nameberry before. [name]Remember[/name]? That everyone had to have names picked out and ready to go for their kids.
My husband sadly said to me today, nobody commented on what I said about you on the [name]Queen[/name] of Nameberry thread. So if anyone reads this, look for his post and maybe you could say something if you don’t mind. Thanks! It’s under [name]Susan[/name], but it’s by [name]Kent[/name]. His name is on it.
Oh my! I totally missed [name]Kent[/name]'s post! (Sorry, [name]Kent[/name]!) You’re very welcome, and I know we all loved saying kind (and very true) things about your wife.
[name]Susan[/name] is amazing, and it’s easy to tell from her post that she married an equally caring man! (I hope she’s enjoying her red shoes!)
I love your kids’ names!
[name]Kent[/name]'s post is above this one.
When I went to bed, the TV was on (political shows), so I’m guessing my brain took the political theme and cast your [name]Peter[/name] as a candidate with a great slogan!
I thought [name]Kent[/name]'s post was sweet; I especially like the red shoes! [name]Red[/name] shoes and capes, [name]Susan[/name], I must say I’m impressed. It’s so true about not having to worry about how a cape fits; this is making me want to run out and find one, or maybe a capelet 'cause I’m short.
Maybe something like this: http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/15/153474/18_2008/34917541.jpg
Or this: http://perfectdetails.com/mm5/graphics/00000002/capelet-black-lg.jpg
[name]Kent[/name] bought be [name]Finn[/name] [name]Comfort[/name] red sandals. They were what I wanted for my birthday. I have them on right now! So comfortable. I don’t wear capes anymore. But they are great. Now, one of my fave jackets is thick cushy fleece with big horn buttons. It has some leopard on it, some red and black [name]Indian[/name] blanket design, and some black with dark red deer. It sounds really tacky, but I got it several years ago at Nordstrom and it’s really cool. Good for cold [name]California[/name] winter weather, would be a joke in really cold weather like in [name]Colorado[/name]. I know because I tried wearing it there. Brrrrr!
