We had to put our beautiful doggy [name]Roxie[/name] to sleep tonight because she had very bad nerve damage in her hips and rear legs. Poor doggie. Her name was [name]Roxanne[/name] [name]Louise[/name], and she used to follow me everywhere until it was so hard to walk. When I am sad, names and Nameberry and all the Nameberry posters are such a comfort to me. Thank you everyone for our wonderful virtual community.
Oh, [name]Susan[/name], I’m so sorry to hear about sweet [name]Roxanne[/name] [name]Louise[/name], and I’m sending you huge hugs. I’m sure you made her life wonderful, [name]Susan[/name], and I bet she’s watching over you from doggie heaven.
I hope she’s at peace now, and that you can be comforted by warm memories of [name]Roxie[/name] and the joy and love you shared with each other.
Rest in peace, [name]Roxie[/name]…
What kind of dog was she, [name]Susan[/name]?
I’m sorry about [name]Roxanne[/name]
Animals touch our lives like children do and unfortunately they aren’t with us for very long. She is lucky to have been loved by you and your family.
Oh [name]Susan[/name]! I’m so very sorry about your beloved [name]Roxie[/name]! I hope we can (as you said) provide you with a little comfort in your trying days!
[name]Roxie[/name] was a black Lab mix. We rescued her. Her owner had died after she had just given birth to puppies and she was in a house all alone with the puppies, her dead owner and no food. She kept her puppies alive but nearly starved to death. When we got her, she was terribly thin.
We saw one of her little black adorable puppies. She always looked at me and went wherever I went. I was her favorite. She was the only dog I ever had.
[name]Susan[/name] - I am so sorry to hear this about your dog [name]Roxie[/name]. As this thread was bumped to the top, I was all ready to join in the fun game while I’ve been catching up on missed posts and make my deserved tribute to you only to find you going through the loss of your dear dog. My sympathy to you and your family. Pets really do love us no matter what and it’s such a missing piece when they have to leave us. I know you were a good mom to [name]Roxie[/name] and she appreciates all you’ve done for her.
[name]Susan[/name], [name]Roxie[/name] sounds like such a special dog. What a heroine, to keep her babies alive like she did. I’m so happy you two found each other, and I bet she lived every day of her life with you filled with gratitude for the kindness and love you gave her.
[name]How[/name] are you holding up, [name]Susan[/name]?
I only cried when I said goodbye to her, and then I cried again when [name]Kent[/name] called from the pet hospital because we needed to consult. I kissed doggie so many times and smelled her head and her cheek.
I have not been crying today, but I am thinking about her. My friend came over for lunch.
It’s good that she died because she was miserable. But it is sad. I think she went to heaven, and I prayed that God would take her there after [name]Kent[/name] said the pet hospital was going to put her to sleep. I think there is plenty of room in heaven for my doggie [name]Roxie[/name].

I’m so glad you got to say goodbye to her, [name]Susan[/name]. For her sake, I’m glad that she’s at peace now. And I agree with you: I’m sure there was pleanty of room for a doggie who nearly sacrificed her own life to keep her babies alive.
You’re in my thoughts! (And if you e-mailed that one time, I didn’t receive it…Hmm…)

Thanks [name]Jill[/name]!
Emailed what? Did I email you?
Thanks, Disa. Yes doggie was like a little child. She loved people more than other dogs.
Doggie Roxxie is in dog heaven now, [name]Susan[/name]. She was loved on earth and had a lovely family to live with. You did the kindest thing, even though it was hard.
love

Yes, Nameberryites are very comforting!
[name]Hi[/name], [name]Ailsa[/name]! I voted for your name on a poll.
It was hard to have [name]Roxie[/name] put to sleep, but now I don’t have to worry about whether she is in pain or if she is getting worse or any of that. It’s bittersweet.
[name]Karen[/name], I am so glad that you are back at Nameberry! Where were you? I missed your incredible logic and analytical thinking. If you go away again, let us know when you’ll be back because I missed you even though I only know you on Nameberry.
I think [name]Roxie[/name] went to heaven, and up there wherever it is, she can hang out with some of my relatives who loved dogs. I still have my kitty.
If anyone is ever upset or sad about anything and you want some support, feel free to put it on this thread so we can write to you!
That is a great idea [name]Susan[/name]. xx
Oops!
Recently, you mentioned that you wanted to contact me, and I thought you were getting my e-mail from [name]Pam[/name]. Maybe I’m just confused, which wouldn’t surprise me in the least. ![]()

I saw that you had made a post over 2 weeks ago seeking me out by name, so I responded where I was:
I didn’t mean to completely wander off for very long, but there you go. I don’t think I would ever stay away forever, and it’s surprisingly nice to know I was missed. I never know how my essays and meandering deliberations will be received. I certainly like thinking it out on paper and then sharing too much.
I’m sure as good a dog as [name]Roxie[/name] was and a friend to you as you were to her, she’ll probably make a lot of friends in heaven. I have a kitty as well, and I will be sure to keep her informed how much I love her even when she tries to scratch my face as soon as I lay down to sleep (she thinks she’s petting me). I’m glad there is a thread here where we can keep up with the lives and such apart from names. Thank you for suggesting and inviting people to post their stuff in your thread. That’s what’s so awesome about you, [name]Susan[/name].
