I definitely have been here long enough that I should know this… Oops… But is there a list somewhere of all the moderators/admins of the forums?
Ha, I found it as soon as I asked: About - Nameberry[name_f][/name_f] in case anyone else needs it!
Is the option to preview our post permanently gone? I use that with everything I do on here, and I’m really sad to see it gone ![]()
I was able to get the old version back with the little toggle switch in the top left corner of the post editor! (at least on my computer browser – don’t know if it’s the same on mobile if you’re using a phone)
[name_f][/name_f]I also didn’t like the lack of post preview
[name_f][/name_f] And that the emojis convert to the actual emoji instead of staying as text in the editor.
And it’s not just the preview, either! Seems there’s a few updates…you can still link names manually I think (test: [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]), but you can’t manually blur spoilers or hide details. Really missing the preview section!

Curious – are these updates largely to do with reducing the amount of lag on the website? Aside from the images, which I understand is a matter of copyright. ![]()
Is the mobile device double spacing apart of the update? And the removal of extra spaces? It is really annoying.
Unfortunately I can’t switch the edit mode on my mobile devices.
ETA: I just found the toggle switch on my iPad.
thank you so[name_f][/name_f] much for this!! ![]()
[name_f][/name_f]I had so much anxiety over this, you’ve helped me tremendously!! ![]()
I’m glad I could help! ![]()
Is there a way to look at all of the Nameberry articles from over a specific year? For example, everything posted on the non-forum side of the sight in 2019.
Not that I know of, but if you do figure out a way let us know!
Bit random, how do you manually link names? I haven’t been able to figure it out! Thank you ![]()
to make the link [name_f]pink[/name_f] you’d write
[ name_f] name [/name_f]
with no space after the bracket, and replace f with m to make it [name_m]blue[/name_m], or u to make it [name_u]green[/name_u]!
name_f links to the feminine entry in the database, name_m links to the masculine entry, and i think name_u links to a random one or the most popular. hope this helps! <3
You’ve saved the day! Thank you so much
[name_m]Just[/name_m] curious! What programming language was Nameberry’s front and backend developed in?
I have no idea, I’m sorry! It was developed by [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] [name_m]Hunter[/name_m], who manages the tech side of Nameberry.
[name_m]Ever[/name_m] since the last update I can’t seem to find the “blur spoiler” option… Please help ![]()
When you’re drafting a response, make sure the toggle at the top left of the box is on the “M” that has a downwards arrow beside it. If it’s showing an “A,” click on it so it will switch to the M. Then if you hit the plus sign in the right corner, blur spoiler is at the bottom!
[name_f][/name_f]Let me know if that works/doesn’t make sense.
Unfortunately that doesn’t work for me, if I click the plus sign 6 options show up, but not “blur spoiler”, and I can’t scroll further down
Or type [ spoiler ] [ / spoiler] without the spaces. (Maybe annoying though - not sure why it isnt letting you scroll)
