I use mobile so I don’t see that symbol/pop up, but I do[name_f][/name_f] know you can’t unlike posts after a certain amount of time!
[name_f][/name_f](or that used to be the case, sorry if it’s changed and I’m wrong

does anyone know if some new emojis got added in the update? there are a couple that don’t look familiar to me, this one
[name_f][/name_f] especially but i can’t tell if i’ve just been ignoring it!
yeah, i’ve noticed too and they feel smaller
ooh yes, they’re definitely smaller too!
someone has probably asked this before somewhere, but is there a ‘style combiner’ tool somewhere on Nameberry? to find names that fit two different name styles (e.g. timeless and nature)
not necessarily a nameberry site question, but i was wondering if anyone knew how to find statistics for exactly how many times a name has been given to a baby since recordings started? particularly when the rank is outside the top 1000 in the us.
trying to find more info on my beloved summit and his usability, but i don’t ever dive into this side of names, so i’m lost, haha ![]()
edit: i think i’ve found info on many names (including summit and summitt) from this website, but if anyone has another site/technique they use, i’m interested in hearing it still! ![]()
I mainly use [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- and find it the easiest to use.
[name_f][/name_f]There’s also Forebears[name_f][/name_f] for more world wide stats (though it is from 2014), Baby name explorer[name_f][/name_f] for [name_f]England[/name_f] and [name_m]Wales[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f] and the official one for Ireland
i’ll have to play around with those! thank you ![]()

@readingreverie[name_f][/name_f] there’s also this[name_f][/name_f] which has all the US Data [name_f][/name_f]- but allows you to see the name in context [name_f][/name_f]- so [name_m]Summit[/name_m] was used for 88 babies in 2024 and is therefore as popular as [name_m]Jules[/name_m], [name_f]Karsen[/name_f], [name_m]Kyland[/name_m], [name_m]Mayer[/name_m] and [name_m]Tamir[/name_m]
ooh, that’s so interesting and helpful!!
I made a quick graph[name_f][/name_f] showing the usage of [name_m]Summit[/name_m] as a male name 1880-2020. (Note that it is in the nature of SSA data that 0 can mean anything from 0 to 4)
[name_f][/name_f]I wanted to include newer years as well but that is turning into a bigger task than expected that my laptop might not be suited for ![]()
oh my goodness, thank you so much!! i really appreciate it, wanda ![]()
A post was merged into an existing topic: Glitches
not a big deal, but when i used to open the forums, there would be a pinned post at the very top of the page, above whatever topic had been most recently replied to. i’ve noticed this post is now missing? the pinned topics in the All About Nameberry category had also become unpinned, and i was able to pin them back, but i can’t find the post that used to be on the home page! it feels a bit naked without it
[name_f][/name_f] does anyone know how i can get it back? not urgent obviously, just thought i would check ![]()
screenshot to illustrate[name_f][/name_f] there used to be a pinned topic (maybe something like “welcome to the nameberry forums”?) above where the “i’ve never met a” topic is
is there any way to see how close you are to moving up a trust level?
hi mallory! i’m not sure if this well answer your question but if you look at Understanding Discourse Trust Levels[name_f][/name_f], it should tell you everything you need to move up! and maybe you could connect some of them to you? i’m not sure if it helps or is a completely wrong answer, as i’d double check with the mods ![]()
I’ll check that out!! thank you ![]()
I think TL3 has specific requirements which Nameberry changed from the Discourse defaults! [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] listed them here: Lounge Requirements[name_f][/name_f], which might be helpful! But as far as I know you can’t see your own progress beyond estimating or guessing ![]()
TL1 and 4 info in the original article is accurate and we know the TL3 ones, but something weird seems to be happening with TL2 - @zoedandelion is the only person to hit it in the last six months, and it looks like she was more than double the requirements for everything (way, way over for everything other than days visited). Some other users seem to be at the listed requirements but haven’t gotten promoted. So I’m assuming the requirements for TL2 are different as well as TL3. (Also sorry to stalk you Zoe! You were just the only example.)
I actually had to get promoted manually! I read that article and noticed I’d had all the requirements for a few weeks (much longer than the “lag” time) so I pm’d [name_f]Brynn[/name_f] (admin)! [name_f]She[/name_f] bumped me to TL2 and said she hadn’t seen something like mine (all the requirements but not promoted) before… but if no one else has been promotes automatically then it must be a real glitch!
