A bunch of random polls today, brought to you by my time on Nameberry today, scrolling through random threads and lists!
If you could only add one to your list?

A long poll thread on the topic of short lists vs. long lists vs. the ever elusive medium list!
Not particularly talking about themed lists, for example, I might have a “sisters for Vision, Favor, and Merit” list, but I’m specifically referring to comprehensive lists that are not themed/created with a specific topic in mind. And as always, if your preferred answer to these questions isn’t on here, please share and @ me!
What list lengths do you keep?
How many names are on your short list (not a cumulative number, for example: if my boys had 7 and my girls had 7, I wouldn’t reply with 10-15, I’d say 5-10) / what would you consider a short list to be?
How many names are on your medium list?
How many names are on your long list?
What makes up the names on your short list?
Do you keep guilty pleasure or middle only names on your short list?
What makes up the names on your medium list?
Do you keep guilty pleasure our middle only names on your medium list?
What makes up the names on your long list?
How often do you update your lists?
Do you include family names on your lists?
Does your long list include the names on your short list?

I tend to keep themed lists in addition to short, long and medium lists.
I keep track of my changing faves multiple times a week, but I don’t really edit my lists more than a few times a year. [name_f]My[/name_f] changing preferences become new lists/spreadsheets.
my medium list pretty much includes every name that I like but don’t love but could love if I have a partner who absolutely loves the name
@Etymology Ooh, interesting on the updating bit! If you don’t mine me asking then, where do you keep track of your full short/medium/long lists? Is it just separate spreadsheets, are they in a notes section, a listography? This topic will forever interest me!
@SparkleNinja18 Oh, this makes so much sense! I’ve never thought of it that way…so smart! I will have to keep this in mind!!
I am a strong believer in not anglicizing name spellings, so my personal preference is [name_f]Niamh[/name_f], but if I had to choose which would be easier to wear or pronounce in an English-speaking country, it would be [name_f]Neve[/name_f]!
Is the flow Drummer Judah at all acceptable?
I have only the long list, no short list…
Short list is for names I would realistically use; medium list is for names I’d use under specific circumstances, long list is for name so sort of like or have liked in the past, I rarely update it anymore though.
@lateaugust, I very much agree with what [name_m]Theo[/name_m] said!
@seawillow For some reason, I’m getting tongue-tied and saying “Jrummer Judah” instead of “Dummer Judah,” so I said no. That could very much only be a me thing, though!
