Hey, I wanted to see your thoughts on my first name Ríona. I’m half Irish with an Irish last name beginning with M and my two middle names start with an A and an M.
[name_m]Even[/name_m] though I’ve experienced years of no one being able to say my name correctly (Silent o), I love the more lowkey femininity to it and the meaning behind it, aswell as the unique Fada (í) on the “i”.
[name_f]My[/name_f] family also calls me Ri,Ria or Rio(my favourite) as nicknames.
I’ve never heard of your name, but I quite like it. It feels like a name that wouldn’t feel out of place in early 20th century [name_u]America[/name_u], but also could be a vintage revival name. Is it common in [name_u]Ireland[/name_u]?
It’s really lovely! I’d have known how to pronounce it but I can see that being a slight frustration for a Ríona outside of [name_u]Ireland[/name_u]. It seems like a name that works pretty well internationally though!
