[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] is my newest name crush and I’m considering adding it to my list (If I can get the husband on board. So far, he’s not a fan). [name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to see what people’s general thoughts and opinions were on it. [name_u]Haven[/name_u]'t really thought about middle names yet, so all suggestions are welcome.
I’m not a fan of the name
I can definitely see the appeal of [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]. It has a lot of personality. I went to school with a [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]. Her friend called her Kel or Kel-kel- which I thought was cute. For middles:
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Natalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Marisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]
Sorry, I don’t like it. It just feels like a quite trashy [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] alternative that probably sounded quite chic in the 80s.
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]/[name_f]Roxanna[/name_f], [name_f]Raphaelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Marcela[/name_f]/[name_f]Marcelle[/name_f] have the same slightly-dated European charm, but also keep their exotic rarity.
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] is an awesome name, I much prefer it to [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. It is my aunt’s name, affectionately known as [name_m]Rock[/name_m].
I love the name [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]. She is also [name_f]Barbie[/name_f]'s friend in the [name_f]Barbie[/name_f] movies lol so I’m sure most little girls would love the name!!!
I’m not much of a fan of it. I much prefer [name_f]Rachel[/name_f].
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Odette[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Emily[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Marisol[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
I’m not a fan of [name_f]Raquel[/name_f].
I’ve known a lot of [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]'s of Latina descent. I think it makes sense if [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] meshes well with your heritage. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though it’s nms, if you love it, go for it
If you choose [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] I would go with a Spanish-feeling middle or a sort of frilly middle to negate any hip-hop vibe you might be worried about.
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Yesenia[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Priscilla[/name_f]
GL!
I’ve taught hundreds of kids, and the only one I ever heard complain about the other kids making fun of her name was a [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]. (I don’t get it, either; [name_f]Chastity[/name_f], [name_f]Miracle[/name_f], and Reality had no such problems.) She did say she liked her name in spite of that, though.
I love [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]!
I only think of [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_m]Welch[/name_m] - which probably shows my age…
But I don’t think it is a bad name. Seems too hard/harsh though.
I don’t hate it, but I don’t love it. I know it’s a girls’ name, but I’ve always thought it sounded pretty ambiguous. I prefer [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] (call it dated, but it’s a traditional Biblical name, and I don’t think those really go out of style…I like the sound, anyhow) for girls and [name_m]Raphael[/name_m] for boys.
[name_f]My[/name_f] sister’s middle name is [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] and I’ve always wanted to honour her by using [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]. It’s beautiful!
I’ve always loved these combos
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_u]Sutton[/name_u]
I seriously love the name [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] parents were possibly going to name me [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], so then I discovered [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] if I ever have a daughter, I thought it was pretty.
Also, some frilly spelling could be [name_f]Raquelle[/name_f] …maybe your hubby would like it or the fact that [name_u]Rae[/name_u], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], or [name_f]Kelli[/name_f] could be her nickname??
I love [name_f]Raquel[/name_f], anyways:
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
Maybe he’d be on board with it if he chooses her middle name?
I quite like [name_f]Raquel[/name_f]. It strikes me as a retro, exotic alternative to the somewhat dated [name_f]Rachel[/name_f].
I prefer it to [name_f]Rachel[/name_f]. I’ve pondered using it myself. I like it as a middle name especially due to the emphasis on the second syllable. [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] [name_f]Raquel[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] [name_f]Raquel[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Raquel[/name_f].
I’ve also seen and liked [name_f]Raquela[/name_f] but I’m not sure it seems as strong. I like that [name_f]Raquel[/name_f] seems uncompromising and dramatic. A bit of a bombshell name. [name_f]Raquela[/name_f] seems “prettier” - which for me isn’t always entirely a good thing.
[name_f]Raquel[/name_f] is an awesome name. Back in high school I wrote/directed a play where the main characters’ name was [name_f]Raquel[/name_f].
Nothing wrong with it [name_f]IMO[/name_f], but I remember watching a [name_f]Barbie[/name_f] movie when I was younger where the mean girl in the story was this snobby chick named [name_f]Raquelle[/name_f], and ever since then the name has always sounded super b*tchy to me.
I doubt anyone else will make the connection, though.
Sorry, but I’m not a fan of the name.
