When she first found the boy in the woods, [name_f]Jenny[/name_f] knew instantly she had met a king. The shape of the blood around his head, still red but turning brown on the leaves, the way the occasional rays of sun brightened up his pale face, and the regal aura of calmness he had about him left no doubt of that. [name_f]Jenny[/name_f] felt honored by his presence, she didn’t tell anyone of him. The king was her secret, and she told him everything, but when one day he finally spoke to her, too, he had a horrible story to tell.

Deadly Butterflies
It never really left Ivy alone, you know. Fear. Butterflies. Whatever term you want to use for that thing that flutters in your stomach and throughout the rest of you, turning everyday tasks into a mountain too brutal to climb. Still, she was trying, she had a list, and she had the support she needed to perhaps make it further up the mountain than she has before, just in time to graduate high school. Her starting list?

  1. Go shopping by herself
  2. Ask a stranger for their story
  3. Tell her parents the truth

It’s a simple beginning, yet none of the items seem possible to complete, and she certainly has no plans to complete them all in one day. But when the most unexpected of tragedies strikes, Ivy finds herself going through all three in less than twenty-four hours. Perhaps she can keep walking even as the butterflies inside transform into something more sinister with every step. Either way, her life is forever altered.

Hey @BookSneakersMovie- that plot sounds so cool, how would you feel about me trying to turn that into an actual story? No pressure and not like I’d actually do anything with it :joy:, I just wanted to make sure that you were okay with your idea being used!

@dogs_books I was thinking about making a story like that too :joy: Maybe we can collaborate!

Oh, it’s fine! All yours (obviously )

It’s totally fine if you want to write something like that, maybe just switch it up a bit.

Forever Empty

The last time I can remember laughing was exactly 2 years, 5 months and 8 days ago. The memory of that day sits like a pit in my stomach. A sharp excruciating pain that slowly dulled over time until I eventually came to barely notice it. Numb and hollow, a slow and insidious aching for something that hides in the depths of my soul and subtly, silently yearns to be fulfilled. Since that day, hopelessness shrouded and enveloped all. Feeling forever empty became my new normal. I wrapped that feeling around me like a thin blanket and took comfort in the fact that it kept me clear-eyed and obedient. That is why I didn’t expect to laugh today, when the whole world is in sorrow, and why I definitely did not expect to laugh with HIM.
