Unique Last Names that you've come across?

I have a fairly unusual name (it’s P0s@d@)
The most unusual surname I have come across is Honeyman

Glasco
Starke
Lafrenz
Letts
Funk

[name_m]Griffin[/name_m], Good, [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Riel[/name_m], Sweet, [name_m]Danger[/name_m] (pronounced DAng-urr), [name_f]Malena[/name_f]

Outside of a small handful of people(obviously those in my family don’t count in that handful lol), I have never come across my own surname. Staeheli (pronounced Staley) it is of [name_m]German[/name_m] orgin I believe.

My last name is Laik, pronounced “like”. It’s Estonian, where my grandpa was born

I’ve met people with these

Parotta
Yaw
Ryba
Creer
Dezollo
Boleau

My mother’s maiden name is Loeffelholtz (in the original [name_m]German[/name_m] it was Löffelholtz, but it was anglicized several generations ago), which I’ve never seen on anyone not related to me. Actually, I once read an article written by a woman named Loeffelholtz and when I excitedly researched her it turned out she’s my mom’s second cousin.

Wow, that’s cool! [name_m]How[/name_m] is it pronounced? I’m clueless XD

I had never heard my fiance’s last name before, so I thought it was uncommon. It is uncommon in the U.S. at least. But then I saw a video from his town in Mexico of a kindergarten celebration and every other kid had the same last name! I won’t say it on here, but a similar name is Espinosa. It is so common that his dad’s last names are Espinosa Espinosa. (Meaning both his mom and dad had the last name Espinosa). It’s probably about as common there as my last name, [name_m]Brown[/name_m], is here.

Some of my favorites from family and other sources:
Opel (pronounced like [name_f]Opal[/name_f]…inspiration for my name here)
Loverin
Leeper
Soule (I knew a G@rdener S0ule … great name)
[name_m]Byrnes[/name_m] (prn [name_m]Burns[/name_m])
[name_m]Brian[/name_m]-[name_m]Brown[/name_m] (always thought it was funny that my friend had a whole name as her last name)

Loveland - pronounced more like “love-lend” or “love-lind” than “love-land”
Soule - pronounced like the word “soul”
Sharpless
Zingo
[name_m]Fairchild[/name_m]
Thunderwolf

I went through a yearbook and found some more:

Kiss
Olofson
Glass
Blondeaux
Boring
[name_u]Bird[/name_u]
Hannaford
[name_f]Peach[/name_f]
Twist
Lady
Scarfone
[name_u]Love[/name_u]
Cheatham
Youngblood

My own surname! I dont really want to post it here, but its spelt like brother with a G and rhymes with Rover, except the v is a th. It gets said wrong all the time. There’s only about 12 of us in the UK and they are all part of my close family!

In fact, both of my grandmothers had unusual maiden names. One was like Risk with an L, the other like [name_u]Shelby[/name_u],without the H.
Sorry for being so cryptic. [name_m]Just[/name_m] want to protect my heritage!

My surname is [name_u]Love[/name_u] and I love it, pun intended. I don’t know how unique it is but I have yet to actually meet another [name_u]Love[/name_u] who wasn’t related to me in some way.

Trying to think of ones I know, that might make interesting first names…

[name_m]Lowell[/name_m]
[name_f]Dionne[/name_f]
[name_m]King[/name_m]
Savoy
Hourihan
Blakeney
[name_u]Donnelly[/name_u]
Galbraith
Kierstead
[name_m]Hamilton[/name_m]
Cyr
[name_f]Doucette[/name_f]

I’ve been watching a lot of That '70s Show lately, and [name_f]Donna[/name_f]'s last name – Pinciotti – is so cool and fun to say. I wonder if it’s a real last name or just something the show’s creators made up. There’s some data for the name on ancestry.com, so I think it’s legitimate.

I saw someone with the last name De [name_u]Winter[/name_u] which I thought was pretty

I think mine is unique, at least where I live. It’s Elsmore.

Others I’ve heard of are Quirk and Peloquin.

My own surname, there are only two families in my country with that name. And none of them has my name. I am unique

Gopalkrishna, Nobles, [name_m]Umar[/name_m] (first name ridwan), Gumbita, Naegele, Dellavadova
