A Rational Magic/The Starfall Coven/???:
The surname of our main protagonists — Ferrin — was an accident, but it’s unintentionally awesome because of the sheer amount of issues their family’s knowledge (and actual presence in the fairy world when it comes to [name_f]Anya[/name_f], [name_f]Lani[/name_f] and earlier Eden) of Azaevelum causes for said fairies. It’s the tenuous link between ferrous and Ferrin, all things considered, but I still think it’s pretty great.
Their fairy friend is [name_u]Katriel[/name_u] ‘Kat’ [name_m]Wystan[/name_m].
Tales of Wildridge Manor (working series title):
[name_u]Rue[/name_u] Arison as the ‘is he really a bad guy or is he really good underneath it all’ antagonist from book one. I just… like this.
That past idea about a secret garden of some kind:

Oh, yeah, I was playing about a bit and this one doesn’t have a story but [name_f]Elvia[/name_f] [name_u]Rosen[/name_u] [name_f]Lore[/name_f] is such a protagonist name to me. It just is.
In a longer story three characters are basically representative of extreme good/light and extreme bad/dark and the neutral one who keeps balance, and they all have devil names (don’t ask. they are humans.) Good= [name_u]Diablo[/name_u] nn [name_f]Dee[/name_f], Bad= Apollyon nn [name_m]Paul[/name_m], Neutral= [name_m]Lucifer[/name_m] nn [name_u]Luce[/name_u]
One of my favorites is [name_u]Florence[/name_u] [name_u]Marion[/name_u] “Flora” Dahlrymple! I haven’t written her in a while, but I totally adore her name. Her best friend is called [name_u]Killian[/name_u] Ketteridge, which I also really love. And her sisters [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] “Pearl” are some other faves! I love those stories… I should get back to writing more of them.

Many of my characters are girls, particularly my MCs. Many of my secondary characters are their sisters. This is all mostly because I am a girl with a sister myself! “Write what you know,” right? Plus, girls’ names have historically been a lot more intriguing to me than boys’ names! Though, im coming ‘round on so many boys’ names with every additional day I spend perusing Nameberry!

Yeah same, the only story with a male MC has another who’s female xD also I almost judged Xobbjats and then I remembered Staeriisha Szeyia and her friends Tellav Thloa, Anaema Talleiroei, and Taechkeeap xD
this is definitely not from a fan fiction but i love the name egan meaning ‘little fire’ for my “antagonist”. obviously it’s not a combo, but his family’s main power is fire and he’s the youngest of the siblings!
his brothers (already created in the original book universe) are eris and lucien + three more alive and two more deceased. their last name is vanserra!

Though it is a bit odd, having an Arabic name and [name_f]English[/name_f] surname. I was just intrigued when I heard the actor [name_u]Sean[/name_u] Astin’s surname. Like seriously. Astin!!! I love it! So [name_m]Farid[/name_m] [name_u]Amari[/name_u] [name_m]Astin[/name_m] sounds a bit weird, but it’s one of those names you can’t change cause you’re so attached.
Agdavene Illoni- I have no clue of where this name came from. Her original name was supposed to be [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], and one morning I woke up, and said, “Agdavene” instead, and it just stuck.
[name_u]Jack[/name_u] Eland- This one sounded so amazingly British to me for some reason. I don’t know why, but I just love repeating this name over and over because it’s so catchy.
[name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_u]Bo[/name_u] ‘Ben B’- This one is entirely random. Loved [name_m]Benedict[/name_m], my best friend loved [name_u]Beau[/name_u], so I put them together and boom. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it. Nicknamed [name_m]Ben[/name_m] B 80% of the time.
Most of my characters are boys! I find it way easier coming up with boy names than girls.
Secondary characters are usually their best friend.

Okay, back again. I spent way too long today trying to name a cat. Why was it so difficult? Because I wanted the name to be strange, but human enough to, uh, work on a human, because our cat is a shapeshifter. You know.
Originally, he was Mischief Inkblot ‘Inky’, but now he’s the considerably more human-suited [name_u]Valor[/name_u] [name_u]Poet[/name_u] ‘Val’ (blame other people in Wardwell House for the strange names, I guess). Our MC is [name_u]Rune[/name_u], so I think these two work pretty well together.
The other main characters…? Well, I haven’t named them yet. I have named two dragons, a minor sibling character for [name_u]Rune[/name_u], and the realm of the dead you can access via Rune’s bed (okay, it’s underneath his bed, but my point still stands) and that’s within barely 1150 words, somehow.
I was actually just thinking about my weirdest character names, so. . . I’m not sure if these are cool, exactly, but they’re certainly strange.

Zinnia’s parents are named [name_f]Elanor[/name_f] and [name_m]Zorian[/name_m] Badgerscythe (some of my coolest names wasted on side characters), both of whom are notoriously indecisive. Ordinary was created by mad scientists named Dr. Cumber, Dr. Thimble, and Dr. Adaway, and his name is Dr. Cumber’s idea of a joke, coupled with Dr. Thimble’s favorite food of cream puffs. As for Whybert, the story goes that his parents were taking so long to decide on a name that eventually someone said, “Okay, the next thing you say is this kid’s name.” The dad, however, was watching TV and didn’t hear, so he complained, “Commercial break!”. The mom, realizing what had happened, said, “Why, Bert?” and that’s how we got that.
I also have a character named [name_f]Serenity[/name_f] Merrimon, but when she was little, her older sister said that since she wasn’t very serene, perhaps they should have called her Difficulty instead, which is how the nickname Ficu originated, which is what she’s called by everyone except her mother, who’s a stubborn holdout on Sere, and strangers who her mother’s talked to first. Anyway, Difficulty “Ficu” Merrimon. Hmm, who else? Oh, there’s [name_m]Aurelius[/name_m] Dormouse, which I like because then he can put up a sign that says “DORMOUSE. Odd jobs. They must specifically be odd: I will organize the boxes of forgotten love letters in your attic into the shape of the [name_f]Mona[/name_f] [name_u]Lisa[/name_u], I will thoroughly clean your dusty castle library so long as you’re alright with my reading the books, but I will not do anything so mundane as mow your lawn or deliver your newspaper. Email goldmouse.tealeaf for details.” Also, I can’t forget the time only a few days ago when I asked my friend for help naming a character. She said perhaps [name_u]Finn[/name_u], and I said I had thought of that, but I wanted a longer full name, at which point she seems to have suggested [name_u]Finnegan[/name_u], but I misheard her as Finniander, which I must say I like better than any other options.
