What are your middle names?

My middle name is [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. Not a filler name - it was my dad’s grandmother’s name and back in 1980 when I was born, it was rarely used.

My middle name is [name_f]Cate[/name_f].

I haven’t used it for either of my girls but did consider [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] for this baby for a little while (about 2 days, haha) then decided it wasn’t right,

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and we did use a version of it on our oldest daughter ([name_f]Eliza[/name_f]). My husbands is [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] and also used a version on our youngest daughter ([name_f]Leona[/name_f]).

My middle name is [name_u]Alexis[/name_u]. It’s not after anyone in my family, my parents just couldn’t think of anything else that went with DanniLynn.

My middle name is [name_f]Anne[/name_f]. It’s my mother’s middle name too. My parents just couldn’t choose a middle name for me so they put my mother’s one.

My middle name is Makiya. It makes me [name_f]Jennifer[/name_f] Makiya :). That was my grandmother’s name. [name_m]Just[/name_m] so happens that I also decided to bestow it upon my little princess.

Your great great grandma was basically called [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] Doolittle then? That’s pretty cool!

I’m [name_f]Ebony[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. Although I don’t hate [name_u]Eden[/name_u], it definitely won’t be being used on any future children. [name_u]Eden[/name_u] was very unique in our area when my parents chose the name.

Kachel…made up from my Dad’s initial and the name ‘[name_f]Michelle[/name_f]’ (which was apparently judged to be too common). It’s not spelled properly to pass for [name_m]French[/name_m], and not pronounced like the [name_m]German[/name_m] or Celtic words spelled similarly (I’m informed it means ‘tile’ in [name_m]German[/name_m]), so I’ve adopted the pronunciation of [name_m]Cashel[/name_m] (sp?), the Celtic word for ‘fortress’ (which has significance for me). Also, the Celts didn’t have a written language, so who’s to say how they would have spelled it?

This is why parents shouldn’t get kre8tiv.

My middle name is [name_f]Paige[/name_f]. I’m not a huge fan of it, but it does sound nice with my first name. There’s no real significance behind it, I guess it’s just a name that my mom and dad liked. I don’t think I’ll ever pass the name down to any of my children.

Mine is the dreaded Madison. It’s a family name my parents were considering for a boy. My mom suggested it last minute to talk my dad out of Felecia, which he was insisting on for some unfathomable reason. I wouldn’t pass it on because honestly, I’m sick of hearing it. The name doesn’t hold any real significance to me because it’s so overdone.

My middle name is [name_f]April[/name_f]! I love it because it feels very vibrant (springy, even) and isn’t filler. My mother told me that her second choice would have been [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I am so so glad she didn’t do that instead.

She chose [name_f]April[/name_f] after my grandfather, whose birth month it is.

Edit: Contrary to the fact that both my first and middle name are honoring names, I will absolutely not be honoring anyone with my children’s names. I don’t like it much; I’d rather they get their own name. Mine were workable because a) family member my FN is after never uses their full name b) MN April I don’t actually “share” with anyone.

My middle name is [name]Jayne[/name], the same as my mum’s. [name]Jayne[/name]/[name]Jane[/name] has been a name in our family for generations so, yes, I will be passin it down to my daughter.

Yes, yes she was  Though frustratingly I found out she generally went by [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] instead!

My middle name is [name_f]Janel[/name_f], so I’m [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Janel[/name_f]. I’ve never really cared for it, especially since my siblings have family names in the middle and mine was just pretty.

[name_f]Susanne[/name_f]
My mother named me after her bff from her childhood.
My mother’s name is [name_f]Susan[/name_f] and her bff’s mn was [name_f]Anne[/name_f], so it made sense that I got the mn name [name_f]Susanne[/name_f].
I don’t like giving children names after their parents. I think it is nice to use grandparents names as middles though. So if I am blessed with a daughter she might get [name_f]Susan[/name_f] or [name_f]Anne[/name_f] or I might consider [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. But I would have my husband’s mother to think about too, so it wouldn’t be fair.
Her name is Marilea. ([name_f]Mara[/name_f]-lee)

My middle name is [name_f]Jill[/name_f] after my cousin who died when she was four months.

My legal middle name is [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. It was my mom’s maiden name.

My religious middle names (only really used in family, and not on any legal paperwork) are [name_f]Tzippa[/name_f] and [name_f]Leah[/name_f]. [name_f]Tzippa[/name_f] is a diminutive of Tzipporah, like being named [name_f]Betty[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Each of those are Hebrew names of my great-grandmothers.

As a kid I was grumpy that [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] was on my legal/English stuff because [name_f]Leah[/name_f] would have been so much simpler and girlier, and my first name was unusual so I wanted a normal middle I could have used instead. Nowadays I don’t hate any of them.

My middle name is [name_u]Kaye[/name_u], which rhymes with my mom’s middle name ([name_f]Mae[/name_f]). [name_u]Kay[/name_u] is typically a short form of [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and my mom’s name is a form of [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] so I guess I’m sort of named after her.
