What are your middle names?

My entire family is big on family names for middles. [name_m]Both[/name_m] of my cousins have [name_f]Marie[/name_f] ([name_u]Ashley[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] & [name_u]Courtney[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]) and so do my aunt and grandma ([name_f]Donna[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] & [name_f]Lillie[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]). My mom got [name_f]Diane[/name_f] ([name_f]Teresa[/name_f] [name_f]Diane[/name_f]) and I got [name_f]Beth[/name_f] ([name_f]Amanda[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]). We’re the only females on her side of the family that don’t have [name_f]Marie[/name_f], haha.

I have a fun story about middle names, though. My grandparents had three children - two girls and a boy. The boy was named [name_m]Gregory[/name_m] [name_m]Allan[/name_m]. Their first daughter grew up to marry a man with the middle name [name_m]Alan[/name_m] and their second daughter grew up to marry a man with the middle name [name_m]Allen[/name_m]. So all of the men on that side of the family have the same middle name, all spelled different, and none of them were related beforehand. Cool, huh?

My middle name is [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]. I’ve never cared for it much. My mom picked it because it sounded good with my first and last name. She liked the way it sounded when she said first and middle together ([name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_u]Leigh[/name_u]). She thought the [name_u]Leigh[/name_u] spelling was more feminine, but it just confused me when I was younger. I thought “eigh” was supposed to sound like it did in the words eight, weigh, and neighbor, so I thought my name should be pronounced like “lay”

My first name is more interesting. I was born in the late 80s, so it was the #1 name in the country, but my mom didn’t know that. She heard it from the news while she was pregnant. [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] McClure (or [name_u]Baby[/name_u] [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], as she was known then), was trapped in a well, and my grandmother and mom decided that if she survived, they would name me after her as a symbol of her strength.

My middle name is Athanassia. It’s Greek to honour my father’s heritage. It’s the female version of Athanasius, who was my great-grandfather.
I used to hate my middle name, but I’ve come to love it - I’ve never met anyone with the name before.

My middle name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I’m not aware of any special reason for my parents using it.

My middle name is [name_f]Kristen[/name_f], I’m not a huge fan. I’m not named after anyone, I guess my mom just thought it sounded good. I’ve thought about changing it to [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] as it’s very similar but much better imo.

My middle name is [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f].
I’m [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]. I don’t think there was any special reasoning behind my middle name… I think they just thought it sounded pretty. lol
But it combines well with my 1st name both verbally (it flows well) & in meaning (it combines to mean essentially: “strong angel”).

My middle name is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. It is my grandmothers name. I don’t dislike it but I wouldn’t use it in any of my children’s names. I would possibly use [name_f]Rose[/name_f] though.

My middle name is [name_u]Patrice[/name_u] which doesn’t have any significance really. Which makes me [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f] [name_u]Patrice[/name_u]. My parents thought I might be a boy (they didn’t find out the sex of me or my siblings). They didn’t have a name for me for a few hours after I was born. Mom wanted [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] and dad wanted [name_u]Ariel[/name_u]. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t know how they came up with [name_f]Gabrielle[/name_f]. Not that I don’t like my middle name but I don’t think I would use it on any of my future daughters (if I even have daughters)

My middle name is [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. Its not a family name or anything. My mom just really loved it. She decided to spell it with an ‘s’ because that’s the way it’s spelled in the Bible. I like it to. I think its a beautiful name. I am very happy she spelled it with an ‘s’ because thats also the [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling.

My middle name is [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. It’s a family middle name but I also think it fits very well with my first name, [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. There is a good chance I will use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] for a middle name for my daughter when I have one.

No middle name for me! [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_f]Sarah[/name_f].

Mine is [name_f]Mae[/name_f]!

My middle name is [name_u]Blair[/name_u]!

Mine is [name_f]Ann[/name_f] after my maternal grandmother. I think ill choose [name_f]Diana[/name_f] as a mn for my future daughter, after my mum

My middle name is [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I was born [name_u]Harley[/name_u] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], though my dad wanted to name me [name_f]Kenna[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] (after his father [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m]). I actually found out years ago that my mom actually was thinking of naming me [name_u]Harley[/name_u] [name_m]Davidson[/name_m]. I’m really glad she didn’t.

Mine is [name_f]Marie[/name_f], which was after a close friend of my mothers who died before I was born. My first name is [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] (named after another close friend of my mother, who is also a close friend of mine now.) The combination [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is a little ‘boring’ but I’ve always liked it, as I’m named after 2 people who were very special to my mother.

[name_f]Angela[/name_f] [name_f]Therese[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Therese[/name_f], but that’s because I picked it (ok, do confirmation names count?). As for [name_f]Angela[/name_f], it’s my grandmothers name, but I’m not and never have been in love with it; goodness knows I love my Grandma to death, but not her name. And I probably wouldn’t name my children any of them, but that’s only because I love the names I’ve already picked too much : )

I think so I don’t have one but they are included in legal documents aren’t they? My friend always includes her confirmation name in her full name ([name_f]Orla[/name_f] [name_f]Beverley[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]).

I don’t think they are excepted as a ‘legal’ name, but I include it anyway : ) Which makes my full name (not including LN) [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Renee[/name_f] [name_f]Angela[/name_f] [name_f]Therese[/name_f]. A pretty mouthful : )

My middle name is [name_u]Angel[/name_u]. So my name is [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_u]Angel[/name_u]. It’s not bad, when I was younger, I didn’t want to have an uncommon name, but I thank my parents for me not being another [name_f]Ava[/name_f] or [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] now.
