What is a name you love but would never use

Hey berries, I did one of these for the boys. Basically, what is one girl name you love but would never use because it was to popular, to far out there, or it wouldn’t match with your other names.
Mine has to be Winneka or [name_u]Lennox[/name_u].

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] for starters… bad association from childhood assigned to that name

[name_u]Hazel[/name_u] - it seems so freaking popular. So it’ll be confined to the middle spot for me

[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - another family member has already claimed this name so that is why if I were to have my [name_f]Annora[/name_f] she would go by [name_u]Noor[/name_u]

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Emily[/name_f] - too common

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - also too common

[name_u]Angel[/name_u] - I have a personal bad association because of someone I know named [name_u]Angel[/name_u]

[name_f]Dixie[/name_f] - feels too ‘out there’

[name_f]Tanya[/name_f] - rhymes with my name, so no chance

I have never been a fan of [name_f]Abigail[/name_f] myself. But I also had some bad associations with it so that really crossed it off for me. I also like [name_u]Hazel[/name_u]. But it is way to popular like you said especially the combo [name_u]Hazel[/name_u] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. When I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] I think [name_u]Nova[/name_u] but [name_f]Annora[/name_f] is so precious. It’s not to out there but it’s still unique.

I remember when like five of my close friends (None knew the other) all named there babies [name_f]Emma[/name_f] or [name_f]Emily[/name_f] I immediately crossed it off the list. I don’t know a lot of Lucys but I have always loved it. When I think [name_u]Angel[/name_u] I think school nurse or angel food cake. I liked [name_f]Dixie[/name_f] for a while but when that tiktok star became popular I didn’t want my kid to have that association tied to her. I like Tayna but it kinda feels old school to me. Nothing wrong with that just not my taste .

Aww I love [name_u]Carter[/name_u] on a boy or girl. I say if you love it go for it.

[name_f]Flavia[/name_f]: I much prefer the Classical Latin pronunciation of flah-wee-ah and no one pronounces it like that. Not to mention, the fla-vee-ah pronunciation rhymes with a biological part that’s not so pleasant.

Some of the more popular names, like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], are gorgeous but just too common for me. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and its variants are also on that list, though I might still use them.

There’s more, but [name_f]Luna[/name_f], [name_f]Mia[/name_f], and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] are all old favorites of mine (I still love them) that got way too popular for me to actually want to use.

[name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], I love it so much, but… it’s a little bit out there for me to actually use. I would totally use it as a middle name though, one of my favorite combos is [name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f].

I absolutely love [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] but sadly couldn’t use it.

[name_f]Aurembiaix[/name_f] or [name_f]Philophrosyne[/name_f]

[name_u]Willow[/name_u]! I find it so magical and lilting… but alas. It’s too popular (top 5 in my country) and with my last name becomes the stage name of an adult actress… not something I want my child finding when they innocently google themselves :woman_facepalming:

I also love [name_f]Astraea[/name_f] but it sounds too much like “Australia” in a comically-thick Aussie accent. I also think the spelling and pronunciation would confuse people.

[name_f]Rose[/name_f] and Fae/Fey because they sound silly with my last name.

[name_f]Luna[/name_f] because it’s now too trendy and will date.

And Luthien which I adore, but to the average person (read: not a [name_m]Tolkien[/name_m] nerd lol) it sounds like [name_f]Lucienne[/name_f] with a lisp! :disappointed:

I love [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] but can’t get past its meaning. Also love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] but it doesn’t work with my last name.

[name_f]Emma[/name_f] - I have some bad associations with it (but also good ones)

Sophia/Olivia/Ava - All too common (Emma is too)

[name_u]Madigan[/name_u] - It means small dog, which feels to childish

Ellie/Eli/Lexie - Too childish since they are nickname names

[name_f]Cressida[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] -love them but I’ve used them on characters

Amelie, Olivia and Emma are way too popular
Chicago, Indiana and Gertrude which I love but most people don’t
Ramona, Imogene just don’t have the full potentional
Mariposa, Jordan, Dylan, Rowan aren’t allowed where I live for girls

[name_f]Flora[/name_f] - extremely similar to a bully from school
[name_f]Sappho[/name_f] and [name_f]Skadi[/name_f] - too out of the box to give a child imo.
[name_m]Frodo[/name_m], Elendil, [name_f]Tauriel[/name_f], Éowyn - too Lotr/Hobbit (although I LOVE Éowyn, and would’t be surprised if I actually used it)
[name_m]Otis[/name_m] - my cats name
[name_u]Basil[/name_u] - friend of my already ‘claimed’ it
[name_u]Storm[/name_u] - too ‘similar’ to my all time favorite [name_u]Wolf[/name_u]
