To me, I don’t think it gets sexier than [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] (a la [name_f]Veronica[/name_f] [name_u]Lake[/name_u], whose real name was [name_f]Constance[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] Ockelman!)
What name is the fairest of them all in your eyes/ears?
[name_f]Lolita[/name_f], [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f], [name_f]Venus[/name_f], etc., all have connotations of languid, luxurious women, but these names in general with long “a” or “o” sounds tend to give me that image.
Some other random ones that feel sexy to me: [name_f]Jezebel[/name_f], [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f], [name_f]Jacinta[/name_f], [name_f]Fiammetta[/name_f], [name_f]Fiorella[/name_f], [name_f]Liora[/name_f], Lilit…repeated, lulling sounds, I guess.
[name_f]Inga[/name_f], female name related to the Norse mythology and being guarded by Ing, the god of infertility and peace.
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Soleil[/name_f]
To me, there’s absolutely nothing sexy about the name [name_f]Lolita[/name_f]. Romanticising [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] is just plain wrong and not at all in keeping with Nabokov’s own perception of the story. There’s nothing sexy about a name associated with a man raping a minor. The book is phenomenal, however.
When saying “sexy”, I think femme fatale names:
[name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f]
[name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_f]Circe[/name_f]
[name_f]Cleopatra[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Gilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Jezebel[/name_f]
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]
[name_f]Salome[/name_f]
[name_f]Satine[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
Ha, those would have been my exact words; don’t even get me started on the films.
But to be fair I think from a more modern perspective [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] has become a term in itself, taken out of the context of the novel. People hear [name_f]Lolita[/name_f] and think sexual promiscuity, yes, but not paedophilia. There’s ‘[name_f]Lolita[/name_f] Fashion’ and I think it’s a perfume now or something too. [name_f]Dolores[/name_f] [name_m]Haze[/name_m] isn’t necessarily it’s direct connotation.
