[name_f]Cat[/name_f] name:
[name_m]Newton[/name_m] [name_m]Reginald[/name_m] Schibbelhut
[name_f]Cat[/name_f] usually known as Mister. Full name Mister [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. Mister because he is male and [name_u]Ellis[/name_u] after [name_m]Aston[/name_m] [name_f]Villa[/name_f] chairman Sir [name_m]Doug[/name_m] [name_u]Ellis[/name_u].
Yellow Lab Mix
[name_m]Milo[/name_m] [name_m]Remus[/name_m]
[name_m]Milo[/name_m] - The name the shelter gave him was [name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Armstrong[/name_m]. But my SO and I didn’t find that very fitting on him—cute, but ‘it’. After first meeting our new dog, I knew he needed a soft, gentle sounding yet masculine male name. [name_u]Sam[/name_u] was what first came to mind, but that was too common, plus also didn’t fit his lovable, goofy, dopey personality. I’d been in love with [name_m]Milo[/name_m] for years, and was even on my list for as a potential child name. So when it came up during a quick nameberry search of ‘soft boy names’, it was perfect. We both loved it, and it fit him perfectly!
[name_m]Remus[/name_m] - When I mentioned that he needed a middle name, my SO was set on [name_u]Rey[/name_u]/[name_u]Ray[/name_u] or [name_m]Raymond[/name_m]. I wasn’t sold. He kept listing off other [name_u]Rey[/name_u]-related names and [name_m]Remus[/name_m] came up. [name_m]Remus[/name_m] J. Lupin was one of my absolute favorite characters in [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], so I was immediately smitten.
Other names we initially considered were Zuma and [name_m]Thane[/name_m]. We also had another puppy, named [name_u]Saige[/name_u] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f], but unfortunately we had to give her up to a specialty rescue group. (Initially, her name was [name_u]Saige[/name_u] [name_f]Avalon[/name_f], and then changed to [name_u]Saige[/name_u] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]—perfect and SO fitting—, and then changed again to [name_u]Saige[/name_u] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] by said rescue group.)
My 8 year old Chihuahua passed away on Nov. 15th… Her full name was [name_f]Guadalupe[/name_f] Raimunda, known as [name_f]Lupe[/name_f] or [name_f]Lupita[/name_f].
We adopted a puppy from the dog pound. We don’t know his breed but we think he is what we call over here a ‘Bardino’ or ‘Majorero’. His name is [name_m]Baltimore[/name_m] Anacleto. He goes by Balto, which is the name of one of my favourite movies!
We have a four year old tuxedo cat named [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Kelso[/name_m] Bowser Manco (Manco is the last name). His name before we rescued him was Bowser. [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Kelso[/name_m] is a character in Scrubs, which my boyfriend and I watched together when we first started dating 8 years ago. Because of this, we can say, “Who has two thumbs and doesn’t give a crap? [name_m]Bob[/name_m] [name_m]Kelso[/name_m]!” We also recently watched all of That 70s Show again together, so the [name_m]Kelso[/name_m] is because of [name_m]Kelso[/name_m] in that show. His name tag says “[name_m]Bob[/name_m],” but I mostly call him [name_u]Bobby[/name_u] or Boobie. His other nicknames are: Boob Manco, The Loaf, Burrito [name_m]Man[/name_m], and I am constantly saying, “What a man!” around him, so that should be considered a nickname at this point.
We also have a one (almost two) year old orange tabby named [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] Spook-a-Loo Manco. She has always been called MJ since we rescued her (she was originally named [name_u]Carroll[/name_u], and that just did not capture her personality; MJ is the perfect fit). We named her MJ after the character in Spider-[name_m]Man[/name_m]. She sleeps with a Spiderman plush in one of their many many cat beds and has her own Spider-[name_m]Man[/name_m] blanket. I don’t know what a Spook-a-Loo is, but I made it up one day and have called her that so much ever since. She’s just a Spook. I can’t really explain it, haha. We also call her: Pook the Spook, Squish, Squishy, and MJ-bo-ben-jay.
Had to re-home our pigs (guineas) due to allergies but they were named Cornwall [name_u]Jo[/name_u]-jo [name_m]Halil[/name_m]-[name_u]Pasha[/name_u] Kosouke and Porky Asuna [name_f]Mai[/name_f]-[name_f]Petunia[/name_f]; we clearly had fun naming them.
We adopted a huge and clumsy puppy last summer and were in two minds to keep the name he was given in the shelter, [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], or change it.
Our current dog is [name_m]Morris[/name_m], so it fits our style perfectly. But it bothered us at first that we hadn’t named him.
Names we considered to change it to:
[name_u]Wallace[/name_u], [name_m]Wilbur[/name_m], [name_m]Wilson[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], [name_m]Desmond[/name_m].
But he’s a [name_m]Wesley[/name_m] 100%. It doesn’t matter to us now, that the shelter named him. We quite like it. It’s part of his story!
He gets Wesleybobs, Bobs, [name_m]Wes[/name_m], Wesso.
I am getting a guinea pig and calling her either [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] “[name_u]Penny[/name_u]” or [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] “[name_f]Lilah[/name_f]”, but I don’t know whether to get too stuck in and find a middle too! My dog has a normal dog name, [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], and my cat is Munchkin (I didn’t name him so he doesn’t have a human name).
I have always given my pets middle names except my [name_f]Sugar[/name_f] Gliders and I don’t know why I haven’t. Dogs are [name_u]Madison[/name_u] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] [name_f]Susan[/name_f]. Parrot is [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] and Guinea pigs are [name_f]Sugar[/name_f] Pie and [name_f]Honey[/name_f] Bun. If anyone has middle name suggestions my gliders are [name_u]Loki[/name_u] and [name_f]Luna[/name_f].
[name_f]Darla[/name_f] [name_f]Marianne[/name_f]
[name_m]Dante[/name_m] [name_m]Juan[/name_m]
Sofía
[name_u]Angel[/name_u] (girl)
My guinea pigs are [name_f]Charity[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f].
[name_f]Charity[/name_f] is kinder and laid back, with a loving personality, while [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is much more energetic and spunky. I love the name [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but there are too many ending O sounds in [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] for my taste, so we decided to use [name_f]Willa[/name_f] instead.
[name_u]Dexter[/name_u] Dogface aka “Fatboy”
Scrap that.
I just adopted a guinea pig, who was called Hercules but now he’s Remy. Middle name incoming, most likely to be Rebel.
My cats are both girls named: [name_u]Baby[/name_u] Yocheved (same fn we adopted her with) and [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
Fun!
My fur-babies are:
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]-She’s a part Siamese cat. She’s mostly called [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. I call her [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] sometimes. She answers to both, which is pretty impressive!
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]-Brownish grey short haired [name_f]Tabby[/name_f] kitty cat. He’s called [name_u]Ari[/name_u] almost always. He’s only [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] when he’s being naughty.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]-Boarder [name_f]Collie[/name_f]/Pit Bull mix dog. She’s generally just [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. Dh and I call her ‘Feefs’ a lot too.
This is so cute!
[name_f]Sugar[/name_f] [name_f]Gazelle[/name_f]: [name_f]Sugar[/name_f] is a Basenji/[name_m]Shepard[/name_m] mix, and we adopted her a bit later in life so we couldn’t change her first name. We call her [name_f]Gazelle[/name_f] because she’s lean and limber and loves to run around.
[name_u]Dusty[/name_u] Hippo: He’s named [name_u]Dusty[/name_u] because he’s tan and from the desert, and Hippo because he looks just like one!
Accidental double post!
Mottled brown and black tabby striped domestic longhair:
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] Zuul
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]: when she was still just a few weeks old and with her mama I knew this is what I wanted to name her. She was a feisty little kitten and it just felt right. While as an adult she’s more aloof, she definitely still has a bit of a wild streak. Her nicknames are [name_m]Art[/name_m], [name_m]Artie[/name_m], Little Miss, Artamush, and Girlie.
Zuul: so when she was a kitten, maybe two days after we brought her home, she hopped into the fridge while our roommate was making a sandwich and no one saw her do it. About 10 minutes after he had finished making his food we start hearing a faint but persistent mewing. Fortunately it didn’t take more than a minute to figure out where she was, but my roommate made a Ghostbusters joke as she popped out of the fridge, “There is no kitten, only Zuul!” And it just stuck.
[name_u]Orange[/name_u]/white tabby domestic shorthair:
Morphous Mellow
Morphous: when he was adopted as a kitten he was still recovering from some upper respiratory illness and slept virtually all the time, which lead my partner to consider the name [name_m]Morpheus[/name_m]. Whenever he was awake though, he was a total fuss gus of a kitten. Very vocal and always looking for attention. So he tweaked Mopheus’ spelling so that the pronunciation would be like “more fuss.” He’s 11 now and still a fussy cat lol. Nicknames include Morph, Morphy, Fuss [name_u]Gus[/name_u], and Mr. Mellow.
Mellow: his “name” at the shelter was Yellow Mellow on account of his sleepy state and golden ginger tone (still orange, but more gold than red). while he is a bit of a whiner, he’s always been more the cuddly, Netflix-and-chill type, and so Mellow stayed.
Currently I have a rat [name_u]Theo[/name_u], really [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m].
