What's your favorite boy's name?

To me Boys names are a lot more difficult than girl’s, but [name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are probably [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], [name_m]Ethan[/name_m], [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] (my views on this one change from time to time), and maybe [name_m]Vincent[/name_m] (Like [name_u]Van[/name_u] Gogh). I think [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] is sort of growing on me.

[name_m]Eamon[/name_m] is ‘our’ favourite. I love it because my husband is so fond of it and he has never been so enthusiastic about any other name. It has a familiar sound (similar to [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], [name_m]Damon[/name_m]), but is a pleasantly unique choice.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_m]Leo[/name_m] or [name_u]Owen[/name_u] ([name_u]Owen[/name_u] is too close to [name_m]Eamon[/name_m] unfortunately), since both are strong, uncommon, masculine choices and to me would suit from birth to an adult.

[name_u]Robin[/name_u] is my favourite, there is just something about it. Also [name_u]Robin[/name_u] Hood and [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u].

[name_m]Emrys[/name_m] - I love Welsh names, they’re special to me and this is my favourite of the boys.
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] - To me it’s a strong and manly name, and not super popular.

Close runner-ups are [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. On boys I tend to lean towards more classic names.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] at the moment-hubby not so keen. But the only name hubby and I [name_m]BOTH[/name_m] agree on is [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]…

@ella17: I love the name [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]! Here is a link to an old [name_u]Christmas[/name_u] song by [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_u]Denver[/name_u]. He mentions his son’s name, [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], at the end.

[name_m]Emrys[/name_m].

He’s so balanced and versatile in my opinion – strong and energetic, yet gentle and mellow; whimsical and unexpected, yet reasonable and grounded; and archaic with a great history, yet is in tune with the modern. Such a well-rounded and handsome little chap.

[name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] or [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]

[name_m]Beckett[/name_m] sounds strong and fresh and that he would be a funny and intelligent guy.
[name_u]Arlo[/name_u] is short and simple - no need for frills
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] makes me think of creativity and intelligence

[name_m]Tobias[/name_m]. It seems so laid-back and serene, and gives me the image of soft golden yellows and pastel blues. It also makes me think of water - sailing boats in summer, calm lakes in late spring, the image of a little boy jumping across streams. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandad was in the [name_u]Navy[/name_u] and had an affinity to the water his entire life, so it holds special meaning to me that way. I just love it - it gives me a warm feeling whenever I think about it.

[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]

Why:

I have always loved the name [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. It has meaning to it for me, personally.
I have always liked [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] and have recently come to love it. I think both names together flow well.
I don’t normally go much on the meaning of names, but I like the meaning of these together, [name_m]Isaac[/name_m] means Laughter and [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] means [name_u]Peace[/name_u].

I have two favorites right now, [name_m]Linus[/name_m] and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m]. Middle name would likely be [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] (explanation below).

[name_m]Linus[/name_m] - I love that it’s so unusual. It’s also one of the first names SO suggested. A long time favorite of mine was [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] and [name_m]Linus[/name_m] is the perfect replacement for it.
[name_m]Ansel[/name_m] - A fun way to honor my grandpa, [name_m]Richard[/name_m]. He loved [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] [name_m]Adams[/name_m] pictures. Since SO and I are already planning on using [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] to honor his dad, I thought [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] would be a great way to avoid having another “rick” name.

[name_m]Leo[/name_m] - I love the simplicity of [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. It sounds handsome, dashing, and charming, but not over the top or trying too hard.

[name_m]William[/name_m] - I love this classic name. I find it elegant and regal. It’s one of the few names where I find a nickname appropriate, as I also love the nickname [name_m]Will[/name_m].

[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - [name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s middle name and one of our favorites. It’s another classic, handsome name that ages well.

[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] - This is my husband’s favorite and we’ve been planning for years to name our son (if we have one) [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]. Its current popularity has totally turned me off, but my husband loves it and I do still love the name. I just wish it wasn’t so popular.

I recently updated my rankings and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] nn [name_m]Rhett[/name_m] replaced [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] as #1 for the first time since I was 15! [name_u]August[/name_u] (nn [name_u]Gus[/name_u]), [name_m]Edward[/name_m] (nn [name_m]Ned[/name_m]) and [name_m]Julian[/name_m] (nn [name_u]Jude[/name_u]) are the names that follow it

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite boys name has not changed since I was little. [name_u]Seth[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. Here’s the rest of my top ten…
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_m]Jonah[/name_m]
[name_m]Matteo[/name_m]
[name_m]Jake[/name_m]
[name_m]Kaleb[/name_m]
[name_m]Scott[/name_m]- What me and my husband decided to name our first boy. Compromise
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
[name_u]Flynn[/name_u]

[name_f]My[/name_f] fave is [name_m]Nathan[/name_m].
I like its simplicity and familiarity and the fact that it’s not overly popular.

[name_m]Louis[/name_m] (pronounced with french accent). I agree with some of you who said that [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] is an awesome name - I’d pick it as my second favourite. I also like [name_u]Logan[/name_u] a lot, as well as [name_m]Milton[/name_m] and classic [name_m]John[/name_m].

I’ve been liking [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] lately. I love the meaning of it and that it isn’t too common (at least where I’m from)

I tend to like classic and irish names when it comes to boys so my current favorites are [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m](even though it’s really popular), [name_u]Tristan[/name_u], [name_m]Killian[/name_m], [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] and [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]

I had fun reading these.

If I had to choose my top 3 boy names, they would be [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_m]Boaz[/name_m], and [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]

[name_m]Abel[/name_m] - This is my son’s name. I think it’s one of the best and underused Bible names. (I’m not complaining about the “underused” part - so happy my boy has an uncommon name). Yes, I know that [name_m]Abel[/name_m] was the first murder in the Bible, but he was also the first to show true faith. (As described in Hebrews 11). One of the things I really like about this name is that I can picture any “type” of man with this name. [name_m]Both[/name_m] my husband and I have short and tall people on either side, so his genes could go either way. I can picture a big strong man named [name_m]Abel[/name_m], but also a “smaller” guy named [name_m]Abel[/name_m] too.

[name_m]Boaz[/name_m] Another OT name that I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]. [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] from the Bible made me fall in love with the name. Not sure if we would use [name_m]Abel[/name_m] AND [name_m]Boaz[/name_m] though. They go together well, but maybe a little TOO well.

[name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m]
- This has been my #1 boy name since I was 10 years old. Such a strong name and one that most people like, but not many are ballsy enough to use, ha! A big name. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the nickname [name_m]Wolf[/name_m]/[name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] or Wolfie. I was fully intending to name our first son [name_m]Wolfgang[/name_m] but chickened out. I’m crushing on the name again - big time, so we will see if we end up using it next time around, if we have a boy.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite boy name is [name_m]Houston[/name_m] [name_m]Callahan[/name_m]…no specific reason other than I just like the way it flows.

[name_m]Silas[/name_m]. Has been for almost a decade now. Sure hope I get to use it one of these days! Unfortunately if I use it, it will mean I can’t use my favorite girl name - [name_f]Selah[/name_f], since I do not like matching initials for siblings. (But I’m hoping for all boys anyway. )
