I prefer [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]. Such a beautiful name.

I strongly dislike [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], but feel mutual about the others. [name_f]My[/name_f] preference would be [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f].

I’d vote [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] though, since it’s the most classic (and most popular?) plus it looks the softest and most inkeeping with your other names.

I’d really hate [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], I have no idea why, but it feels the most dated and ‘meh’ to me. Maybe because it conjures up nicknames/names I don’t like Cath, [name_f]Cathy[/name_f] & [name_f]Cathleen[/name_f].

I voted for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], I love the slavic association, the [name_f]Kat[/name_f] nickname and it just changes the feel for me completely. If [name_f]Katerina[/name_f] was on here though, she would have won my heart by a landslide.

I actually like [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] but a close second would be [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]

Honestly when I see it spelled any other way than [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], it just urks me.

[name_f]Katharine[/name_f] is [name_f]DO[/name_f]-[name_m]ABLE[/name_m] for me, but I don’t like it any other way.

I have a half sister who spells it [name_f]Kathrine[/name_f] and it honestly annoys the bajeebees out of me!

I think they’re all nice. I prefer [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], which seems more modern to me. I could go for [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] (a la Hepburn) as well.

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] seems a little old-fashioned. W

Whatever you do, don’t nickname [name_f]Kathy[/name_f]/[name_f]Cathy[/name_f]! I love [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]!

I like them in order:
#1 [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] - I find this so regal. [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] Hepburn gives it a certain gravitas. It is a little harder than the C, which I often see lauded as soft, but I’m not sure I always prefer soft. [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] bespeaks a queen to me, not a tea-cozy. I like this spelling for NNs [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Kitty[/name_f], or [name_u]Kay[/name_u].

#2 [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] - Soft, a bit home-y. Nothing wrong with it. I like this for the nickname [name_f]Cat[/name_f], which makes it feel spunkier than it usually does. Maybe it’s less likely to get mispelled than [name_f]Katharine[/name_f], but I’m not sure about that anyway. It’s very pretty and classic. It smells like baking cookies.

I wouldn’t use any other spelling than one of these two.

I like more C names than I do K names, but [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] is one of the few K names that feels effortless and uncontrived to me.

[name_m]Ah[/name_m] [name_u]Haley[/name_u]… I’ve been having the very same dilemma.

[name_f]My[/name_f] first favourite is [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] (a la Hepburn), which I see as being the most ‘stylish’ and ‘prettiest on paper’ option. However I wonder if my daughter might resent having to correct everyone on the spelling forever!!

Next up is [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], mainly because I prefer [name_f]Kate[/name_f] spelt [name_f]Cate[/name_f]. I also think it looks the most ‘classic’ although I’m very aware that [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is actually the older form and we adopted the ‘C’ because we had no letter ‘K’.
I also think it looks nice with our surname ‘[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] Hassett’, although too be honest they do all work really well ‘[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] Hassett; [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] Hassett’. [name_f]My[/name_f] only issue with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] is how on earth if would spell [name_f]Katie[/name_f]. I know a lot of [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]'s do spell it [name_f]Katie[/name_f]/ [name_f]Katy[/name_f]. But if I decide on the C spelling, I would be keen to use it in a nn, so basically ‘[name_f]Catey[/name_f]/ [name_f]Catie[/name_f]’ are the ones I prefer, but I don’t love either!

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] is the one I least prefer, although still really like. I think it does iron out my worries with spelling, and solves the ‘[name_f]Katy[/name_f], [name_f]Katie[/name_f], [name_f]Catey[/name_f], [name_f]Catie[/name_f]’ issue.

Like you, I would not consider [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] (I just don’t like ‘yn’ endings).

[name_f]My[/name_f] GP is actually [name_f]Catharine[/name_f], but I think it would be too problematic!!

I would probably use nn’s [name_f]Kate[/name_f] ([name_f]Cate[/name_f]) or [name_f]Katy[/name_f] ([name_f]Catey[/name_f]/[name_f]Catie[/name_f]?) depending on which suited her most- [name_f]Kate[/name_f] I see as being very independent, active, outdoorsy, tomboyish; [name_f]Katy[/name_f] is a bookworm, creative, musical, compassionate.
I also like nn [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] too, but think this is more a ‘baby name’ then an adult name (maybe because it reminds me of ‘silly’ [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] from Pride and Prejudice).

So as you can see, I’ve really thought about this!!! But I am no nearer to deciding.

I did however go with my heart and vote ‘[name_f]Katharine[/name_f]’ on the poll.

As a first name, I prefer [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. I like the [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] spelling best as a middle name. NO idea why!

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] has been a name in my family for multiple generations so it’s my favourite spelling. I think it looks polished and elegant spelled with a “C”.

Between [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], I prefer [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. It’s hard for me to chose between [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] because they give me different vibes and I don’t really like one over the other. For me it depends on what names you’re pairing with them. I don’t like [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] at all though.

I’m all about [name_f]Katharine[/name_f]. It’s so regal, and it looks very streamlined to me. I find the ‘e’ in [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]/[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] a bit clunky for some reason!

Not to worry, I have TWO cousins on my mum’s side named [name_f]Kathy[/name_f], haha, there’s more than enough of them in my family without me adding another  I find [name_f]Kitty[/name_f] quite cute, but I’m a bit weary due to teasing it could cause later on. I love [name_f]Kate[/name_f]/[name_f]Katie[/name_f] though.

I love the nicknames [name_u]Kit[/name_u] and [name_f]Kitty[/name_f], which feel fun and playful, while [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] itself is such a no nonsense name.

I prefer the [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] spelling. “K” names make me cringe for some reason.

I have always loved [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], probably because I knew two different girls at different times in my life that both spelled it this way and sometimes went by ‘[name_f]Cat[/name_f]’ which I thought was so cute.

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] gets my vote. The history buff in me prefers the C.

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Katharine[/name_f] I like about equally.
The e spelling is more popular so I’d probably go with that despite the fact that the a looks a little more attractive.

 I think you should be yooneek and spell it Kathwren so you can use [name_u]Wren[/name_u] as a nn.
