Wilder

I just saw an add on Instagram for name announcement signs with the baby name [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] for a girl. I was wondering your thoughts. I think I kinda like it but unsure if I’m brave enough to use it. Maybe for a dog?

Better for a boy, I think.

LOVE [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], on a boy or girl!! (though I prefer just [name_u]Wilde[/name_u])

I completely agree! [name_f]Wildflower[/name_f] is so pretty, too.

Wilder seems masculine to me. Its kinda like [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], which is mostly used on boys but it started being a unisex name. [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] is the same but personally I only like it for a boy. [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] feels very surname-esk to me like [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] (although that isn’t her real name) but maybe it would work as a middle for a girl. [name_f]Wildflower[/name_f] just seems a bit much even though I like the imagery.

I like it the middle name spot!

Wilder is bold but I like it

It’s been growing on me lately, but for a boy. This one doesn’t work for a girl for me personally, sorry!

I’ve never met anyone named [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] of any gender, though, and if I met a girl or woman with that name, I might well change my mind.

I like [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] alot! It’s bold and leans more boy for me . Still… I think it’d make an unexpected but spunky choice for a girl.

I like it! I tend to prefer more unusual names for girls more than boys so [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] does lean more girl to me, but I like it as a middle more than a first name. I like it with something more vintage as a first e.g. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u], [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] (although it does sound a bit like a surname some times!!) If you do have doubts about it, I think it would make a cute and unexpected dog name!

I love [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] - for a boy or a girl! [name_u]Wilde[/name_u] is lovely too.

@tallemaja had [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] on her UC for a while, and I adored it. I think - especially paired with an bold and feminine first/middle name, it becomes bold and magical.

Here are a few ideas that I think would be magical ~
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] (yes it’s been done, but it was done well)
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
[name_f]Antigone[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_u]Wilder[/name_u]

Wilder [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f]
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f]
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_f]Gwendoline[/name_f]
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f]
[name_u]Wilder[/name_u] [name_f]Cressida[/name_f]

I think it’s awesome, particularly on a girl. I also like [name_u]Wilde[/name_u].

I’m not a fan of it on either gender, it sounds much more masculine to me but it might work on a girl too. Masculine names for girls are trendy.

Agree with [name_f]Kate[/name_f] 100 percent.

I think it would work for a girl. There’s so many girls named: [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_u]Sawyer[/name_u], [name_u]Spencer[/name_u], [name_m]Clark[/name_m], [name_u]Banks[/name_u], etc.

I can see [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] fitting into that group of unisex names.

I prefer it on a boy, but [name_u]Wilder[/name_u] could work great for a girl’s middle!

I think it works well for both! On a boy, it reminds me of nature names like [name_u]Forest[/name_u] or [name_m]Bear[/name_m] but on a girl, it feels literary like [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] because of [name_f]Laura[/name_f] Ingalls [name_u]Wilder[/name_u].
