[name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Caleb[/name_m], the name of my actual son. [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a family name, but he’s specifically named after my grandfather. [name_f]My[/name_f] great-grandfather and two uncles also had the name [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] is the American version of his Hebrew name, [name_m]Kalev[/name_m].

[name_u]George[/name_u] [name_m]Avner[/name_m]. [name_u]George[/name_u] is also a family name, the name of my paternal grandfather and three great-grandfathers, including one who was murdered at Auschwitz. [name_m]Avner[/name_m] is a Hebrew name that I love.

[name_m]Louis[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] great-uncle [name_m]Louis[/name_m] was a famous chemist and the chemistry chair at [name_f]Columbia[/name_f] University is named after him. [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], also a family name and Hebrew name.

[name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_u]David[/name_u]. [name_m]Philip[/name_m] is the name of one of my great-grandfathers and means lover of horses (I have always been a horse girl.) [name_u]David[/name_u] is one of my favorite Hebrew names.

[name_u]William[/name_u] [name_u]Walter[/name_u] IV, [name_f]My[/name_f] husbands name, itsvery important to name a son after him

[name_u]Evan[/name_u] [name_m]Louis[/name_m]
I’ve always loved the name [name_u]Evan[/name_u], I come from a welsh Family and [name_u]Evan[/name_u] is the Welsh version of [name_u]John[/name_u] and [name_m]Louis[/name_m] was the name of my great-great Grandfather who was born in Switzerland.

[name_u]John[/name_u] [name_u]Wesley[/name_u]
[name_u]John[/name_u] is the name of my great uncle who disappeared at 19, and [name_u]Wesley[/name_u] is the name of my great grandfather who emigrated to the US from [name_u]Germany[/name_u].

[name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_u]Timothy[/name_u]
I’ve loved the name [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] my whole life and my dads name is [name_u]Timothy[/name_u]

I’ll start with my son.

[name_m]Roland[/name_m] [name_m]Craig[/name_m]- [name_m]Roland[/name_m] is a name my husband loved forever and I also thought it was very handsome. [name_m]Craig[/name_m] is for my grandmother. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband’s name is [name_m]Kevin[/name_m] and for years before my grandma passed away she thought his name was [name_m]Craig[/name_m]. So my grandma has her real life [name_m]Craig[/name_m].

[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] - I have fallen in love with [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. I love the sound and the feel of it. Like [name_m]Roland[/name_m] is unusual yet known. [name_u]Bennett[/name_u] is a play on my maiden name.

[name_u]Thaddeus[/name_u] [name_u]Joseph[/name_u]- [name_u]Thaddeus[/name_u] is another name, I love how strong and handsome it feels. [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] is after my father whose middle was [name_u]Joseph[/name_u].

[name_u]Emerson[/name_u] [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] - I really do love [name_u]Emerson[/name_u], so handsome yet soft and approachable. [name_u]Merritt[/name_u] is a honor name from something on my hometown. (My husband would never agree to this one)

Honorable mention is [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u] which would of been my second son’s name has I had twin boys, but my daughter is [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] so that’s nixed off that list.

Boys’ names are harder for me so this will be challenging!

• [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Kendrick[/name_m]
• [name_m]Lorcan[/name_m] [name_m]Philip[/name_m]
• [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u] nn [name_m]Oz[/name_m]
• [name_m]Cormac[/name_m] [name_m]Rainier[/name_m]

[name_m]Kendrick[/name_m] is a nod to my dad because he dreamed of naming a boy after his father, [name_m]Kenneth[/name_m], but didn’t get the chance. Went a slightly different route because I prefer a honor name that are inspired by the original rather than the same exact name. [name_m]Rainier[/name_m] is a meaningful place name. The rest are just ones that I like and I think they could work together for brothers.

I’m reviving this thread because it’s been over a year since I’ve updated my quartet!

Wesley Shepherd ā€œWesā€ :sheep:
This will be a recurring theme with these names, but honestly, I just love this combo.
August Zebedee ā€œAuggieā€ :teddy_bear:
Slightly honors my mother, who was born in August. Zebedee is just a fun, bubbly name I love.
Elliott Wilder :socks:
Elliott’s definitely a new love, but I already adore him. He honors Elliott Smith, whose music I adore. Wilder is a longtime favorite of mine.
George Merritt ā€œGeordieā€ :wood:
This last name was very difficult. Let’s just say that if I ever have 4 boys, it will be difficult to name them. George and Merritt are both just names I love.

Wes, Auggie, Elliott, and Geordie

I love the idea of a ā€˜quartet’ of boys!

With my IRL son first:
Grantson Metz- Hubby is a farmer. Grantson means ā€œson of a farmerā€, Metz is a 7-generation, first born son mn.
[name_u]Calder[/name_u] [name_u]Maverick[/name_u] - [name_u]Calder[/name_u] was the surgeon who saved my life at age 4. [name_u]Maverick[/name_u] for Dh’s favorite movie character and gives the same initials CMM as hubby.
[name_m]Jessup[/name_m] [name_u]Lamar[/name_u] - The original land my husband purchased to farm was The [name_m]Jessup[/name_m] Place which is named after his great aunt’s husband, [name_m]Irving[/name_m] [name_u]Ray[/name_u] [name_m]Jessup[/name_m], who happens to be my third cousin. [name_u]Lamar[/name_u] was my dad’s mn for his mom’s maiden name.
[name_m]Bridges[/name_m] [name_m]Brandt[/name_m]- [name_f]My[/name_f] maternal grandmother and dh’s maternal grandmother maiden names.
Grantson, [name_u]Calder[/name_u], [name_m]Jessup[/name_m], [name_m]Bridges[/name_m]

If I’m being honest, I don’t have a backstory for most of them, but here it is!

[name_m]Wilson[/name_m] [name_m]Harbor[/name_m]- I just like the classic paired with a more surprising middle. It feels like a more masculine form of haven, but it also gives the feeling of safety and calm.
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_f]Clove[/name_f]- This is actually my spring name, but I really love it now! [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is just a good biblical, stong name. [name_f]Clove[/name_f] is a bit more unexpected, but I really like it on a boy. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]- [name_f]My[/name_f] literary name here! [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] is in the middle due to its unfortunate popularity. It would be first otherwise. C.S. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is one of my favorite authors and it’s even more special, since I share a birthday with the author! (I discovered that in a whiiiile ago, in 5th grade, and I was very excited. :joy:)
[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]- [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] reminds me of [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and his knights and I just really love the name! [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] could also be a honor for the same author, but I just think it’s a lovely classic!

Sorry for my very bad explanations!

I’d realistically name 4 boys:

Paris Henry: I love the name for a boy. I enjoy classic middle names and unique/different first names. This is right up my alley. It also reminds me of Prince Paris from Troy and Count Paris from Romeo and Juliet. It just seems like a charming and sweet name. Henry is just beautiful and I’ve loved this pairing for years.

Brayden Michael: I’ve loved Brayden for years. It’s a little popular but also isn’t. I just have always thought it sounded good. It used to be my number one for a long time but isn’t anymore. I’d use it as a sibling name. Michael again I’ve always loved, I just think it flows well. I don’t like shortened Mike, so that’s why it would be a middle name.

Jetson Thomas: Love this for the nickname Jet! It’s cool and sweet. Thomas is after my father who’s passed on. It’s actually my top name right now but I listed it third for no particular reason.

Adley James: I want to name my first daughter Adley but if I had 4 boys realistically I wouldn’t be having anymore children so I’d name my last son this. I actually discovered the name Adley from a horror movie. It was the villain’s name and he was a boy. But I just liked the sound better on a girl. I think it sounds so wonderful and unique. James I think just sounds lovely paired with the name. If I had less boys I’d probably go with Michael but James fits the classic aesthetic and matches the other siblings names in style.

I’m feeling exceptionally lazy today, but also very in love with my boy names, so my sweet quartet would be:

[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Pax[/name_m]

[name_f]Haven[/name_f] [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]

[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]

[name_f]Sage[/name_f] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]

[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_f]Haven[/name_f], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], and [name_f]Sage[/name_f]

:rainbow::rainbow::rainbow::rainbow:

I strongly debated [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]Courage[/name_m] for my fourth, but [name_f]Sage[/name_f] has been a favorite longer, and I think it goes better with the others, as well as avoiding two brothers with ā€œ-erā€ endings.

Today I’m feeling:

Havu [name_m]Kaspian[/name_m]
[name_m]Ruska[/name_m] [name_m]Eemil[/name_m]
Otava [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]
Aarre [name_m]Konstantin[/name_m]

Realistically speaking…

[name_m]Oskar[/name_m] [name_m]Keith[/name_m] - I adore this spelling of [name_m]Oskar[/name_m] and have been swooning over it for a while, despite usually liking ā€˜normal’ spellings of names. [name_m]Keith[/name_m] is my grandads middle name, and I love that the K connects with the k in [name_m]Oskar[/name_m].

[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] - [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] has been my number 1 boys name for ages (though I used to hate it lol). I love the flow of [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] for his middle name, and I think the matching initials are perfect.

[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] [name_m]Drew[/name_m] - I debated having just [name_m]Finn[/name_m] here, though it felt incomplete with his brothers. [name_m]Drew[/name_m] has no special meaning, I just think it goes nicely!

[name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Claude[/name_m] - This combo was at the top of my list for YEARS! Although now it has been dethroned. [name_m]Julian[/name_m] is a subtle nod to my Dad. [name_m]Claude[/name_m] also has no special meaning.

[name_m]Oskar[/name_m] [name_m]Keith[/name_m], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] [name_m]Drew[/name_m] & [name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Claude[/name_m]

Oskie, [name_f]Atti[/name_f], [name_m]Finn[/name_m] & [name_m]Jules[/name_m]

Today, I think I would go with…

[name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] - [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is a name that I and my boyfriend both love, nothing more than that, and I absolutely adore the nn [name_m]Gabe[/name_m]! [name_m]Sylvan[/name_m] would be an honor name for my boyfriend’s mom. I also love the meaning ā€œof the forestā€ as I’m very much a nature lover!

[name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Julian[/name_m] - [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] is a name I’ve loved for awhile, and it also connects to one of my favorite musicians of all time, [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] boyfriend and I also both absolutely, hands down, love [name_m]Nico[/name_m] as a nn. [name_m]Julian[/name_m] would be an honor name for my cousin, [name_f]Julie[/name_f], who I am so close to she’s almost like another sister. It would also honor the month of [name_f]July[/name_f], which is when my boyfriend and I first started talking.

[name_m]Roland[/name_m] [name_m]Forest[/name_m] - [name_m]Roland[/name_m] has been a love of mine since Once Upon a Time introduced lil [name_m]Roland[/name_m] Hood. This name has been in the back of my mind ever since. I just absolutely adore it and I can’t let it go. [name_m]Forest[/name_m] would be both another connection to nature, as well as another connection to music through mine and my boyfriend’s shared love of the musician [name_m]Forest[/name_m] Blakk.

[name_m]Dorian[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m] - [name_f]My[/name_f] forever love. A double honor name for 2 very special people in my life. [name_m]Dorian[/name_m] would honor a [name_f]Doreen[/name_f] in my life, who was, at a time, like a mother to me when I needed one most. [name_m]Michael[/name_m] would honor an [name_m]Eric[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m] in my life who has been a mentor, father figure and best friend of mine for about 15 years now. I thought it sweet that they could share a middle name. The nn [name_m]Rory[/name_m] also comes from my love of [name_m]Doctor[/name_m] Who, which [name_m]Eric[/name_m] and I share.

[name_m]Gabe[/name_m], [name_m]Nico[/name_m], [name_m]Andy[/name_m], & [name_m]Rory[/name_m]

[name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] :nest_with_eggs:
I just love the sound of [name_m]Peter[/name_m]! There are so many wonderful associations, too! [name_m]Peter[/name_m] [name_m]Pevensie[/name_m] from [name_f]Narnia[/name_f] is one of my favorites. I love how protective he is of his siblings, and how he doesn’t shy away from adventure. [name_m]Simon[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m] in the Bible is of course another notable role model! [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] has a fun, bouncy sound, but with a rich history and the grounded meaning of ā€œson of consolation.ā€

[name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] :open_book:
To me, [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] is both bookish and outdoorsy! It truly is an underrated, boy-next-door kind of name. 1 & 2 [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] are such wonderful books of the Bible, written from [name_m]Paul[/name_m] ā€œto [name_m]Timothy[/name_m], my true son in the faith.ā€ [name_m]Lewis[/name_m] is for C.S. [name_m]Lewis[/name_m], and also just because I find it to be a charming, vintage choice.

[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] :sunflower:
I have really grown to love [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] recently! It is definitely a ā€œbigā€ name for a little one, but I really think the nickname [name_m]Izzy[/name_m] helps with that! The book of [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m], specifically chapter 53, prophesies of the coming [name_m]Messiah[/name_m], who I strongly believe to be [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] [name_m]Christ[/name_m]. It is a powerful book, and one that has given me more confidence in what I believe. As for [name_m]Henry[/name_m], I think it is a sweet and homey name that balances [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] nicely.

[name_m]Jesse[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] :evergreen_tree:
[name_m]Jesse[/name_m] is another recent acquisition for my list. I really like the way it looks written down, and how nicely it goes with the others on my list (I clearly have a Biblical theme going on right now!) [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a name I would definitely use as a first name, but I slightly prefer [name_m]Timothy[/name_m]! Others seem to see the ā€œdoubting Thomasā€ association to be a negative one, but I find the story very relatable.

[name_m]Oscar[/name_m] - [name_m]Oscar[/name_m] has always been a favorite of mine and I love the [name_f]Irish[/name_f] background
[name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] - I absolutely adore [name_m]Nico[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] or [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m] and would call him that
[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] - I’ve been obsessed with the name [name_m]Finn[/name_m], and was having a hard time deciding between [name_m]Finley[/name_m] and [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m], but eventually decided on [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] - One of the most adorable names I know, it would most likely be for the youngest boy in the family

[name_m]Frey[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] - I love a soft boy name and [name_m]Frey[/name_m] is the absolute top of the list. I love that it’s a god name that’s still friendly and down to earth, I love [name_m]Frey[/name_m] in mythology, I love how it’s familiar due to uber popular [name_f]Freya[/name_f] but a bit of a surprise. [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] is an honor name and makes heavenly [name_m]Frey[/name_m] feel a bit more grounded.

[name_m]Rhett[/name_m] [name_m]Forester[/name_m] - I don’t know where I first heard [name_m]Rhett[/name_m], but I love it. I’m a sucker for the Rh beginning, I love that it’s short and sweet and unique. [name_m]Forester[/name_m] just sounds bold and outdoorsy but still gentle and thoughtful, which I like.

[name_m]Finnick[/name_m] [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] - I never got over [name_m]Finnick[/name_m] from The Hunger Games. I fell in love with his name from day one and I like how [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] echoes the sounds in [name_m]Finnick[/name_m] while having it’s own rakish charm.

[name_m]Zealand[/name_m] [name_m]Gareth[/name_m] - [name_m]Zealand[/name_m] has my entire heart. I love a geography name and that Z beginning is fabulous. I like the connection to the sea and [name_m]Gareth[/name_m] is an honor name with the meaning ā€œgentleā€. I definitely hope my son would be a gentle, kind man.

Reviving this because I did Quartet of Girls, but missed this one.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Journey[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]Kai[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Journey[/name_m] is a recent love. He came to my list because my family has recently moved to an area where we can hike often. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have always loved hiking and now we get to share it with our kids. One day we were in the woods and my husband said, ā€œit’s not about the destination, it’s about the journeyā€ in reference to hiking, but thats true for life in general too. I fell in love with [name_m]Journey[/name_m] in that instant. I like it for a girl as well, but greatly prefer it on a boy. For [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], my grandma’s maiden name is [name_m]Salmon[/name_m] (prounced with the L, not like the fish). She’s very proud of her maiden name. I did some digging and discovered that it came from [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], so [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] it is because I’m not naming a kid [name_m]Salmon[/name_m]. lol [name_m]Kai[/name_m] to honor 3 ladies in my family with the middle name [name_f]Kay[/name_f]. All together [name_m]Journey[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]Kai[/name_m] means ā€œjourney of the peaceful warriorā€. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_m]Lee[/name_m] and Kung Fu movies. That’s a subtle nod to that love that most people will never know about, but he LOVES. lol

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] [name_m]Dean[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] was the surname of my mentor early on in my adulthood. I learned so much from that man that has really shaped the rest of my life. I miss him dearly. [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] has been a long time favorite. I love the meaning ā€œbringer of treasureā€. [name_m]Dean[/name_m] is a family name on my husband’s side. It would also make my 15yo son very happy to have a brother named [name_m]Dean[/name_m] because of the show, Supernatural.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Sonder[/name_m] [name_f]Charleston[/name_f] [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Sonder[/name_m] is another recent love. I love the meaning, that he sounds like ā€œsaunterā€, and he’s just so handsome! [name_f]Charleston[/name_f] is for my dad, his dad, and his dad, and on my mom’s side, my uncle and great great grandfather, all [name_m]Charles[/name_m]. But it’s a little more for my dad and uncle than all the others because their names are [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Elton[/name_m] and [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_m]Hilton[/name_m], so [name_f]Charleston[/name_f] pulls the -ton from those. [name_m]Clyde[/name_m] is for my husband’s dad and his dad.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Forest[/name_m] O’Brian [name_m]Scott[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- I’ve been in love with trees since I can remember. Where I grew up we only had one neighbor, my grandparents, and we had to walk 5 minutes to get to them. We were surrounded by woods. As a child I played in the trees by myself nearly everyday. And now, hiking through the forest, I feel like a kid again! So that’s the reason why I adore [name_m]Forest[/name_m]. O’Brian is for my husband [name_m]Brian[/name_m] whom I also adore. He’s been adamantly against naming a child after him with our 3 existing kids, but he said if we ever have another he’ll let me name them since I’m the huge name nerd. That means I get to name a son after my favorite person, him. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:[name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Scott[/name_m] is after his brother which I think might make both of them tear up. :face_holding_back_tears:
