[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] [name_m]Michael[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Lachlan[/name_m] is one of my favourite boy names ever, [name_m]Michael[/name_m] for my Grandad.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Tadhg[/name_m] is arguably my favourite boy name of all time, [name_m]William[/name_m] is for my other Grandad.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Cian[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- I’ve always imagined having a little boy named [name_m]Cian[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is for my wife’s grandmother (Henrietta).

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Roswell[/name_m] [name_m]Francis[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_m]Wells[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] ~ started loving [name_m]Roswell[/name_m] as a name after traveling through the town of the alleged UFO crash, I just think it’s got such a great sound, especially with the nickname [name_f]Roz[/name_f] or [name_m]Wells[/name_m]. [name_m]Francis[/name_m] is another family name that sounds quite handsome to me right now.

Francis Peregrine “Perrin” - Francis is both my father in law and husbands first name. They also both have middle names that start with the letter “P” and my husband goes by that name. He really loves sharing his first name and initials with his dad but having his own name to go by so he has always wanted to do the same for one of his children. We also have a female version of Frances P. Peregrine is for Peregrine Took from LOTR and Perrin is from the Wheel of Time series because we both love fantasy and I have a family tradition of names tied to literature.

Taliesin Evander “Tally” or “Tal” -Taliesin is a character in Arthurian legend and is just a name I love love love. I don’t know if I could actually get my husband on board for this but I’m putting it in here because I love it so much. Evander is both family name on my mom’s side and also a way to honor my maiden name. I love it enough for a first name but it is too similar to my daughter’s name to use as a first name.

Oberon Cornelius “Bear” - Keeping with the literary theme, Oberon is a character in Shakespeare that’s ultimately derived from ancient legends. I love the long O and how regal it sounds but what really sold me on Oberon was the nickname Bear, which is a different spelling of my MIL’s maiden name. Cornelius is a another family name on my Dad’s side but one that hasn’t been used in almost four generations that I feel adds to the regal sound of the name.

Lawrence Aleric “Wren” -My mom’s father is Lawrence and one of her dearest wishes was that I would have a son with Lawrence as a middle name. I love the sound of Lawrence and the darling nickname “Wren” so I bumped it up to first name. Aleric is my father’s first name with the prefix Al. Names that start with Al are a tradition in my step-mothers family, so this name honors all of my parents.

Perrin, Tally, Bear, & Wren

I thought entirely too long and hard about this lol. The first two names feel like a sure thing but the second two are less set in stone.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Isidore[/name_m] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Isidore[/name_m] is my favorite boys name. I love the sound and it’s uncommon but not too crazy. [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] I just find super endearing for some reason (I love virtue names). [name_m]Isidore[/name_m] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] is a combo I always come back to so its an easy choice.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Prosper[/name_m] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- Another combo I always come back to. [name_m]Prosper[/name_m] is just a fun name, hits the same sweet spot of uncommon but not too out there that [name_m]Isidore[/name_m] does, and it’s usually top of my list along side it. It’s also a super usable and interesting virtue name. [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] I love the meaning, look, and sound of.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] [name_f]Sasha[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I just love the sound of both of these names lol.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Aldous[/name_m] [name_f]Fern[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- I love the name [name_f]Fern[/name_f] for a boy but I also hesitate to give 1 syllable first names, so it’s a middle. [name_m]Aldous[/name_m] is strong and distinguished and under used. Reminds me of [name_m]Aldous[/name_m] [name_m]Huxley[/name_m], of course, but also [name_m]Aldo[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Isidore[/name_m], [name_m]Prosper[/name_m], [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], & [name_m]Aldous[/name_m] // [name_m]Isi[/name_m], [name_m]Perry[/name_m], [name_f]Sasha[/name_f], & [name_f]Fern[/name_f]

Today, realistically and naming alone, my boys would be…

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Django[/name_m] [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Django[/name_m] is an important honour for me, having been the name of more than a dozen relatives. For me, the one I most want to honour is my late cousin who was five months older than me and my best friend in the world. [name_m]Lazarus[/name_m] is a less direct honour; [name_m]Eleazar[/name_m], [name_m]Lazar[/name_m], and [name_m]Lash[/name_m] are all family names, so he honours all of them without giving any kids names that are overly matchy.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Gwydion[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Gwydion[/name_m] was my great-grandfather’s name, and he has yet to be honoured by any of his descendants, despite being a war hero!! [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] is a family name, but my choice is to honour my foremothers, as every [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] on my mother’s side has been the son of a twin, which as a triplet born to a twin, I might continue.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Patrin[/name_m] [name_m]Merivel[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- [name_m]Patrin[/name_m] is another family name with a looong history of use, but it has additional meaning to me as someone who spends the majority of my free time in the woods. [name_m]Merivel[/name_m], again, is a family name.

[name_f][/name_f]

Erasyl [name_m]Shadrack[/name_m] [name_f][/name_f]- Erasyl was the name of my paternal grandfather. He means noble hero[name_f][/name_f] or precious hero[name_f][/name_f], and also honours my Kazakh heritage, which often goes unrecognised compared to my primary culture. [name_m]Shadrack[/name_m] is another family name, most notably the name of my favourite uncle.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Django[/name_m], [name_m]Gwydion[/name_m], [name_m]Patrin[/name_m], and Erasyl
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Jem[/name_m], [name_m]Gwyn[/name_m], [name_m]Pax[/name_m], and [name_m]Sal[/name_m]

Marcelo / Marcelino (Lino) - My favorite novel is Of Saints and Miracles by Manuel Astur. The main character’s name is Marcelino (Lino). Lino is not really a protagonist, rather a vessel for the land itself. Astur’s writing cultivates noticing, living enmeshed with the earth and the present moment. I also associate the name with Marcelo Pérez del Castillo who died in the Andes Disaster of 1972. The testimonies told about him make me emotional.

Salvador (Salva) - Salvatore is a well-used family name, although I feel it is too grandiose for my personal style. Salvador feels less like a relic when compared to Salvatore and more like an animated painting. The obvious connection is to Salvador Dalí, although I personally associate the name with Joan Salvat-Papasseit, my favorite poet. Salvat-Papasseit’s writing is pure magic, blending futurism and surrealism with his personal religious beliefs and ideas on mortality.

Eduardo (Lalo) - Eduardo is for a very close family member, so I don’t feel there’s much to add here. Lalo is an added bonus (I just find it so cute).

Fernando (Nando) - This name sounds alive to me, like it is carrying weight. The man who previously owned my family’s house was named Fernando, and I feel like the name has embedded itself into my walls and furniture. My love for this name is helped by the many figures both present and past named Fernando whom I would like to meet (Botero, Parrado, Alonso… to name a few).

The middle name for all of them would most likely be some form of Joseph (again, for a very close family member).

While I’m undecided on how many middle names, today I’ll go with:

[name_f][/name_f]

:yellow_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Conrᴀd Mᴀrɪcɛl :plus:[name_f][/name_f] :red_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Tᴀncrɛd Lɛwɪs :plus:[name_f][/name_f] :green_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Mᴀkᴀɪo Lɛon :plus:[name_f][/name_f] :blue_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Ɛlɪᴀs Jɛᴀn

[name_f][/name_f]

:yellow_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Konᴀ* :plus:[name_f][/name_f] :red_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Tᴀnc :plus:[name_f][/name_f] :green_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Kᴀɪ :plus:[name_f][/name_f] :blue_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Ɛlɪ

[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]*[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]In[/name_f] the event Konᴀ[name_f][/name_f] can’t be used in area (such as Portuguese speaking areas), then Rᴀd[name_f][/name_f] would be a potential nickname.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]August[/name_m] [name_m]Christopher[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] :sun:
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]August[/name_m] has been a favorite name of mine for years! I love his soft, warm, summery sound, and his potential nicknames. [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] is an honor for my mom, Kr!sta, who’s one of my best friends and inspirations. [name_f]In[/name_f] addition to this, I also love the meaning “bearer of Christ” as an honor for my faith, and his cuddly but classic feel I think balances out [name_m]August[/name_m] nicely.
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] :herb:
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] is for my favorite book and one of my favorite characters, [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] from [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_m]Green[/name_m] [name_m]Gables[/name_m].[name_f][/name_f] I love that [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] is a sort of “old-fashioned old man name” but also a name I think would be so cute & fresh on a little boy! [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] I love for his classic-but-not common feel and the literary ties from Shakespeare’s As [name_m]You[/name_m] [name_m]Like[/name_m] It,[name_f][/name_f] which also happens to be my favorite [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m] play! I also love Benedict’s meaning of “blessed” as any son I have in the future will be a blessing to me.
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Jem[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] :blueberries:
[name_f][/name_f][name_m]Jem[/name_m] on it’s own as a first name is a relatively new addition to my list! One of my top names in the past was [name_m]James[/name_m] with the nickname [name_m]Jem[/name_m], but I’ve come to love “just” [name_m]Jem[/name_m] recently. [name_m]Jem[/name_m] doesn’t have any special connections, but I love his boyish & sweet feel that I think works so well with my other names. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] is not only a naturey, cottagecore name, but also another tie to my faith—I love the description of [name_m]Christ[/name_m] as the Good [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], and us as His lambs.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Glen[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] :lady_beetle:
[name_f][/name_f]I love the literary ties of [name_m]Robin[/name_m], from [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] [name_m]Robin[/name_m] to [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Hood[/name_m]. I also love the nature connection, as there are a lot of robins where I live, and seeing a robin is always a sign that spring is coming! [name_m]Glen[/name_m] is my dad & granddad’s name, as well as my youngest brother’s middle name. With [name_m]Robin[/name_m] he feels soft, naturey, and springtime-esque, which is everything I love in a boys name.

I’ve been pondering on our future sons’ names quite often since we found out baby #3[name_f][/name_f] is another boy :yellow_heart:[name_f][/name_f] Here’s our current top 3 firsts (we’re uncertain on middles, but if I had to choose right now this is what we’d go with).

Solomon’s meaning of peace tied with the joyful sound of a nightingale’s song suits my son perfectly. I prayed for peace & joy throughout this entire pregnancy & the [name_m]Lord[/name_m] provided abundantly. [name_m]Not[/name_m] only was my birth & postpartum period filled with peace & joy, but these virtues have also been my son’s most strong characteristics since birth. His middle is also an honor for me. There are more meaningful connections to his name but I’ll stop here

[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Earnest[/name_m] [name_m]Hawthorn[/name_m]

[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]🪶[name_f][/name_f]

This name holds such a special place in my heart. It was my great-grandfather’s middle & it makes me think of his dedicated, kind, capable, & tender heart. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband reminds me so much of my Pap, which endears this name to me even more. [name_f]My[/name_f] mental picture of [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] is a screened in porch with windchimes & a garden enclosed by a wooden picket fence (basically, my great-grandparents house lol).

[name_f][/name_f]

1 [name_m]Peter[/name_m] 4:8 “Above all, keep loving one another earnestly[name_f][/name_f], since love covers a multitude of sins.”

[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]🏹[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Gift[/name_f] of [name_m]God[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] – I can’t think of a more accurate description of what it means to us to grow our family. [name_m]Zebedee[/name_m] feels so cowboy to me. I love his vibrant, sunny sound. [name_f]My[/name_f] mental picture of [name_m]Zebedee[/name_m] is vast farm country, worn flannels, the sent of soil in the air, & horses running wild.

[name_f][/name_f]

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of [name_m]God[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] is eternal life in [name_m]Christ[/name_m] [name_m]Jesus[/name_m] our Lord.”

I love Shepherd’s spiritual + nature ties. All of the biblical references to shepherds & our Good [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] instill feelings of peace, hope, & comfort in my heart when I think of this name. He feels rugged, enduring, & gentle. [name_f]My[/name_f] mental picture of [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] is strong, sturdy hands, quilts & woolen blankets that smell like fresh air, & grassy fields peppered with livestock.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_m]Psalm[/name_m] 23:1-3 “The [name_m]Lord[/name_m] is my [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m][name_f][/name_f], I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me besides still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me on paths of righteousness for his namesake.”

I love your names! [name_m]The[/name_m] all have this vintage/nature/literature feel that is warm and soft yet still undeniably masculine. [name_f]In[/name_f] some ways it does feels like two sets of twins to me: vintage gentleman [name_m]August[/name_m] and [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], and woodland adventurers [name_m]Jem[/name_m] and [name_m]Robin[/name_m].
