Itās about a month since I did this last, so here is my updated version!
[name_f]Verity[/name_f] [name_f]Hero[/name_f] - Like last time, [name_f]Verity[/name_f] remains my favourite girls name of all. I think itās sharp yet not harsh, and Iāve always been partial to āVā and āRā sounds. [name_f]Hero[/name_f] is a name that I would only ever use in the middle spot, despite my love for it, due to it being a bit of a GP. Iāve recently paired it with my beloved [name_f]Verity[/name_f], and I love it.
[name_f]Ines[/name_f] [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] - I donāt usually pair [name_f]Ines[/name_f] with [name_f]Roxana[/name_f] but Iām liking it right now. [name_f]Ines[/name_f] was also included in my last list, and it remains in my top 4 names.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Tulip[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is the sweetest name, and the spunky [name_f]Tulip[/name_f] brings itās vivacity to life. I like the nickname [name_f]Bee[/name_f], and honestly I like [name_f]Bee[/name_f] as a full name but it doesnāt really fit in with the rest of the sibset. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] has been promoted since my last quartet into the first name position.
[name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Daffodil[/name_f] - [name_f]Eva[/name_f] has my favourite vowel and consonant sound so naturally itās right up my alley, and I canāt believe she wasnāt included last month! I like the nicknames [name_f]Evie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f], and if I end up with a little [name_f]Eva[/name_f] I would use this interchangeably with [name_f]Eva[/name_f] itself.
Girls are a bit tricky for me, but today Iām thinkingā¦
[name_m]Rowan[/name_m] [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] - [name_f]My[/name_f] forever love. I just adore the name [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and the connection to nature she has. [name_f]Valerie[/name_f] would be an honor name for both my younger sister, who is basically my best friend, and my nana.
[name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] - [name_f]Lorelai[/name_f] is one of my boyfriendās longest standing name loves and one that I adore! [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] would be an honor name for my cousin, [name_f]Julie[/name_f], who is practically another sibling to me. It would also honor the month of [name_f]July[/name_f], which is the month my boyfriend and I started talking.
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] - [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] is another of my boyfriendās favorite names, and it also connects to my mom through red being her favorite color. [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] comes from the movie Stardust, which was one of the first movies my boyfriend showed to me that I just absolutely loved. It was also a day I was sick as heck, so it reminds me of the good feelings of my boyfriend coming over and caring for me.
[name_f]Hayley[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] - [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] is a shared love of mine and my boyfriend. [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] would be after the [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] borealis, which is something Iāve just always found beautiful and stunning. It would also connect to my boyfriendās favorite musician, [name_f]Aurora[/name_f].
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
This is literally the perfect combo for me. Both are classic and timeless, but still fitting. Theyāre strong but sweet, and have a long history of usage.
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] - [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] is literally an example of the perfect name for me. Sheās cottagecore and vintage, but still charming. And I love how sheās the name of not only a state but a country, which to me gives her powerful and strong vibes.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - [name_f]My[/name_f] all-time favorite and longest name love. She has this wonderful royal connection and a long history that exudes both power and grace. Sheās also a Biblical name which makes it mean all the more to me.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]
This combo is the epitome of soft and sweet for me. She sounds very dainty and refined, and both names have wonderful nicknames.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - She means āfamous warriorā but is immediately softened by the nicknames [name_f]Lou[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Sheās charming, sweet, and my perfect sister for [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f] - Another of my top favorites. To me sheās very literary, soft, and dainty. She gives the imagery of a pretty pink princess.
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
Donāt mess with this girl, because sheās royal but sassy. [name_f]Helena[/name_f] to me is actually a softer name, but paired with [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], one of the most powerful names to me, it gives sass and power.
[name_f]Helena[/name_f] - As mentioned, [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is actually much softer to me. Sheās very literary, bookish, and quiet. However, she can be given spunk by the nicknames [name_f]Lena[/name_f] and [name_f]Leni[/name_f], which are both very sassy names to me.
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f] - One of the most powerful names there is to me. Sheās very regal, powerful, and in control. She has a long history of use and is very familiar.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
The dear baby of the family, sheās adorable and cutesy and everyone loves her.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - [name_f]Clara[/name_f] is the softest, sweetest, most dainty name to me. She gives me cottagecore vibes, and stylistically reminds me a lot of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], another favorite. She gives tea parties, horseback riding, piano lessons, and pet bunnies.
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - I love how this name can change vibes depending on how itās paired. [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] exudes dignity and power, while [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] exudes daintiness and sweetness.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] Plathās writing and poetry, so feel this is an appropriate homage without the older-sounding [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and a less obvious burden on the child if thatās how itās perceived (Plathās suicide). [name_f]Fern[/name_f] also from a favourite childhood series of mine, Fever Crumb, whoās a very sweet girl. Probably the first name I remember thinking I want to name my daughter that.
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_m]Thistle[/name_m] - More books! Always adored [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] Potterās [name_m]Peter[/name_m] Rabbit, and itās a lovely, spunky name. Iād love to call her [name_f]Trixie[/name_f]. [name_m]Thistle[/name_m] because it sounds cute!
[name_f]Viola[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] - [name_f]Viola[/name_f] from Twelfth [name_m]Night[/name_m] by [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m], so still going strong with the literary connections, though I must admit I havenāt actually read it yet. Still, I hear sheās kind and witty, and love the sound of the name. No strong associations with [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], but itās vintage and the right amount of clunky in my opinion.
[name_f]Opal[/name_f] [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] - Less bookish here (as far as I know), having encountered [name_f]Opal[/name_f] on The [name_m]Legend[/name_m] of [name_f]Korra[/name_f] TV show, whoās sweet and pretty. I love the sound and connotations of the word. [name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] I just found today, and think it sounds so lovely, thatās all
[name_f]Una[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] - this has been one of my favorite combos for years now. I originally oved [name_f]Una[/name_f] because of [name_f]Una[/name_f] [name_f]Meredith[/name_f] in the later [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_m]Green[/name_m] Gables books and [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] originally because of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] [name_m]Foster[/name_m] in [name_m]Tuck[/name_m] Everlasting. I eventually loved the names independently of the characters. While this is probably not my top girls name any longer, I do still love it and Iāve loved it for so long that I canāt imagine not using it.
[name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lyric[/name_f] - I love how strong and dramatic this combo is! [name_f]Lyric[/name_f] is an honor for my music loving grandma named [name_f]Lynn[/name_f]. [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] isnāt really inspired by anything in particular, but I havenāt seen a [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f] character that I disliked.
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] Dianthus - I have liked [name_f]Alma[/name_f] for a while, but recently found out that one of my great-great grandma was named [name_f]Alma[/name_f] which moved it closer to the top of the list. Dianthus is an odd choice I know, but I have a grandma [name_f]Dianne[/name_f], who I would really like to honor in some way, and my mama loves her garden and dianthus are one of her favorite flowers.
[name_f]Marta[/name_f] [name_f]Evgenia[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Marta[/name_f] and I like the whole family of feminine versions of [name_m]Eugene[/name_m], but I really enjoy the pizazz that the V brings to [name_f]Evgenia[/name_f].
[name_m]Cypress[/name_m] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Wren[/name_f] - [name_f]My[/name_f] dadās initials are CEW and so were mine before I married. I adore [name_m]Cypress[/name_m]. Itās a new love. Iāve had it on my radar for a while, but didnāt think my husband would go for it. He surprised me! He loves it! He also really likes [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] now which is funny to me because I wanted to use it for our 8yoās middle name and he vetoed it back then. [name_f]Wren[/name_f] is just cute and would connect her to her 8yo sister, [name_f]Raven[/name_f], through them both having bird names and [name_f]Raven[/name_f] would LOVE that.
[name_f]Phryne[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] - This one is mainly for my grandma, Velm@ K@y āToadā. Yes, my grandmaās nickname is Toad. [name_f]My[/name_f] momās nickname is WooWoo. Lots of funny nicknames in my family. lol Anyway⦠[name_f]Phryne[/name_f] means ātoadā. Velm@ was derived from [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. K@y and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] both derive from [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] as does my first name, my mom and sisterās middle name, and 2 of my auntsā first name. I fell in love with [name_f]Phryne[/name_f] watching [name_f]Phryne[/name_f] Fisherās Murder Mysteries and then reading the books. When I discovered it meant ātoadā I was completely hooked. Iāve loved [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] since I was 15 and read [name_m]Dracula[/name_m].
[name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - Honors my granny, Emm@ M@ebelle J0hnson and my grandma, M@ry J@ne. I adore [name_f]Maple[/name_f]. Itās been in my list several years now. [name_f]Maple[/name_f] trees make me think of my favorite time of year, [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] has been a love for several years, too, for no other reason than itās just lovely. And [name_f]Jane[/name_f] also links my love for [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_m]Austen[/name_m].
[name_f]Vesper[/name_f] [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] - Honors my grandpa, V1rgil 0tis R@ndall, and my husbandās great grandmother, [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband loves the name, [name_f]Vesper[/name_f]. Heās been wanting to use it since I was pregnant with our 11yo. Itās not my absolute favorite, but there has to be some compromise and I do think itās a really cool name. [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] I think is gorgeous. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] Iāve loved since I was 5.
[name_f]My[/name_f] quartet has changed⦠here is the new one
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] - [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] is one of those names I keep coming back to. Itās pretty, not too common or too unusual, has this cool celestial vibe I just love⦠and for some reason EVERYONE thinks I should name my child [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], Iām starting to wonder if this is destined to happen to or something. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is an honor for many family members (Joseph is a family name for me, thatās been many peopleās first or middle name for generations), and seemingly the perfect middle name for [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], I have searched a long time and simply cannot find one I like better.
[name_f]Valeria[/name_f] [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] - [name_f]Valeria[/name_f] is a name I love, it has a beautiful, feminine sound mixed with a strong meaning, a rare combination Iāve always adored, and I love V names. [name_f]Dawn[/name_f] is both the name of my favorite aunt and a word name I like but wouldnāt use as a first - I love the symbolism of [name_f]Dawn[/name_f], like the birth of your child is the beginning of something new and great.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] - [name_f]Stella[/name_f] is another name I just love, the way itās described as both beautiful and celestial but also down to earth is exactly what Iām looking for in a name. Itās also sort of an honor for my mother, her name is [name_f]Stacy[/name_f] and [name_f]Stella[/name_f] has the same uncommon St- beginning, so it reminds me of her without being the same name. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a honor for my grandmother [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f], as well as just a strong, timeless choice that pairs well with [name_f]Stella[/name_f].
[name_f]Vivian[/name_f] [name_f]Halo[/name_f] - [name_f]Vivian[/name_f] is a great name, I love both the full name and the nickname [name_f]Vivi[/name_f], and I love the meaning of ālifeā. I love [name_f]Halo[/name_f] for its unique combination of cool sound (short, modern, -o ending) and its connotations of light and joy. And I just really love the sound and feel of this combo together!
