I agree that basicsand and mommydearest are probably the same person. They’re both incredibly rude and condescending.

momtothree is definitely a troll. She announced the birth of implausible “surprise” triplets.

At least we can find satisfaction in the fact that most of them are very transparent. Like all the trolls’ nonexistent children, we weren’t born yesterday! :slight_smile:

This is all circumstantial evidence, but I’m convinced daddy8 and ftmdad are the same person. If you remember, daddy8 was a proven troll who posted on the Momberries page about his schizophrenic son and disabled newborn triplets. There are a spooky number of similarities between daddy8’s postings and ftmdad’s postings. I don’t know, sometimes I come across a troll and can tell straight away, even if they don’t directly incriminate themselves. Maybe it’s because I’m a high school English teacher and I’m used to the way kids write. Anyway, I’d bet a lot of money daddy8/ftmdad is a trolling teenager.

  • daddy8 replied to the thread “If you had a baby tomorrow” with the names [name]Rosella[/name] [name]Peyton[/name]/[name]Jazmine[/name] [name]Dixie[/name] and [name]Justin[/name] [name]Travis[/name]/[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Colt[/name].
  • ftmdad says his birth name was [name]Dixie[/name]-Rosslyn [name]Dove[/name], his future baby boy will be named [name]Justin[/name], and his baby who died was named [name]Oliver[/name]. Also, claimed the name [name]Colt[/name] as a favourite when discussing potential middle names for his son.
  • daddy8 said his brother is a female-to-male transgender whose birth name was [name]Cheyenne[/name] [name]Rosemary[/name].
  • ftmdad says he is a female-to-male transgender who changed his name to Clydenne Hound (a mash of [name]Clyde[/name] and [name]Cheyenne[/name]).
  • daddy8 said he lived on a farm with horses and dogs.
  • ftmdad says he was raised on a farm with horses and dogs.
  • daddy8 said he had two uncles who passed away from leukaemia. His father had leukaemia as well.
  • ftmdad says his infant son died of SIDS and his [name]SIL[/name] had breast cancer.

Other inconsistencies in ftmdad’s stories:

  • Mention of only one brother, yet on one thread said he has three children, and on another said he and his wife had four miscarriages and two stillbirths.
  • His name and his brother’s name (Clydenne Hound [name]Wolfe[/name] and Ridlyn Soldier [name]Wolfe[/name]) don’t show up on any Google searches.

As I said, it’s all circumstantial, but, as I was reading some of ftmdad’s posts, I was struck by the similarity of their stories. Also, the fact that ftmdad only showed up very recently after daddy8 was outed as a troll. I don’t want to embarrass this poor kid, but I think they should know that trolling isn’t okay. I know it’s fun to make up fake families and lives, but it’s unfair to those who comment on your threads, especially when posts refer to disability, illness, etc.

P.S. I’m well aware I have too much time on my hands :wink:

@sarahmezz, you’re not alone. I’ve also been strongly suspicious of ftmdad. His stories seem inconsistent: He grew up in a home that raised dogs, but is asking internet strangers about whether to get a dog? He says in one thread that teenage pregnancy runs in his family, and in another that his brother and wife (that are having trouble conceiving) are the only ones that can have biological kids. Plus there is the telltale trolling sign of sharing way more information than is necessary ([name]SIL[/name]'s breast cancer in the dog thread, and a whole thread on “helping” his brother with fertility issues despite not actually know any of the circumstances).

@maggie - I notice a lot of trolls, but don’t want to say anything just in case. When all someone posts about is getting a puppy, it’s a bit presumptuous to call troll, even though you strongly suspect they are. But I’m sure about this one!

I just wanted to say [name]Pam[/name] and [name]Linda[/name]. Their will be alot of troll birth announcements. [name]Celestia[/name] is one and so is momtothree. Hopefully the troll problem gets better and people realise. You do not need a baby to be on nameberry. I’m 14 and have loved this site since I was 12 and also have a name blog but obviously some people don’t get it.
