[name_m]Just[/name_m] had my NT scan at 12w5d and everything looked perfect. 
As someone who has gone through a missed miscarriage in the past, I can’t describe the relief I felt when I saw my little baby moving around. [name_f]Truly[/name_f] incredible.
We still haven’t told anyone in our lives about the pregnancy, but I think we’re going to start telling people now that I’ve had my scan. I’m really excited, especially to tell my parents, who have been dying to be grandparents for a long time now.
I’m honestly surprised by how good I’ve felt during my first trimester. I expected to be quite sick, but other than being really tired and a little bit of nausea, I’ve really been fine. I feel very lucky about that!
This is a high risk pregnancy, because I’ve had type 1 diabetes since I was 11, so I’ve been dealing with all the extra specialists and test I’ve needed, which has been a little stressful. But so far, I’ve been able to keep my blood sugar under really tight control, so I’m hoping things will continue to go smoothly in that regard.
I’m just so excited and relieved!

Congratualtions! That is exciting and I am so glad for you that you haven’t had too tough a first trimester. I imagine all of the extra testing is a challenge, but I am glad things are well-controlled.
I haven’t neen great about the timing of my thyroid medication, but my numbers have been pretty good, and I am hoping that my TSH check this week will still have me in a good spot. I’m testing a little earlier than planned so that I could sync up an additional blood test with it. Fingers crossed I get an experience phlebotomist this time - last month I needed up needed to be stuck a second time and had a particularly painful blood draw overall when normally I have had better experiences at that location.

@starless thankful for the good scan. I know that anxiety all too well. How fun to get to share the news! [name_f]Any[/name_f] fun stories yet? I had a not too close friend at work who literally rolled her eyes when I told her. That was so incredibly disappointing! Everyone else has seemed genuinely happy for us.
@NameSearchAccount Considering thyroid complications, how will your health be monitored through your pregnancy? Does that mean you’re little one will likely arrive early? My family had a pretty extensive history with thyroid issues but I have yet to join that bandwagon. I expect it won’t be long!

I have to get my thyroid levels checked every 4-6 weeks, but that’s about it. There is no indication that it will cause an early delivery unless I were to not make medication changes if my TSH gets out of the 0.2-2.5 range. Treatment is very very simple and so far I haven’t had to change my levothyroxine dose from what it was pre-pregnancy - my TSH has barely changed at all so far! I think I may be able to reduce to getting it checked every 6-8 weeks after this next blood draw as long as everything remains in the healthy range. I’m TPOAb negative, which basically means I don’t have an autoimmune issue that attacks my thyroid, and it seems like I was just in the unlucky 10% of people whose postpartum thyroiditis that didn’t obviously resolve on its own postpartum. (My endocrinologist thinks maybe I could have tried tapering off the medication to see if my levels went up but remained within normal if I hadn’t been planning to get pregnant again as soon as I did following my first TSH check after I stopped breastfeeding, but that’s irrelevant now.)

[name_m]Had[/name_m] my first appointment yesterday and we got to hear little one’s heartbeat! Scheduled for 1st trimester ultrasound 1st week in [name_f]June[/name_f].

I had mine today! My LMP was 3/17 and I was thinking DD Dec 20th, making me like 8w pregnant. Sonogram showed 6w5d. Everything looked good and doc mentioned the baby had a strong heartbeat. I return on 3 weeks to make sure baby is growing. Longest 3 weeks ahead, ever.

I know I wasn’t going to think of baby names but I got really hooked on this one boy name and my cousin just announced it for her son who was born today. I know it’s silly but I can’t pick it anymore. Fingers crossed for a daughter. I know you all understand

We finally just told both my parents and my husband’s parents tonight! It was amazing to finally get to share, they are beyond excited and shocked. A lot of tears were shed! We’ve been trying for this baby for over 6 years now, and I’ve never made it to my second trimester, so everyone so far has just been over the moon for us. Excited to start telling our friends now!

I’m still feeling a little tentative about posting but I’m due at the mid/end of December, I’m just about to turn 9 weeks by my calculations and very excited to welcome baby number four.
We already have four year old twins (Jago & Verity) and a two year old (Zinnia - who will be three by the time this baby gets here). We are due to go for a scan in a few weeks time so very much looking forward to seeing baby and getting an update on dates and to check baby is doing well.
The morning sickness has been bad this time round and comparable to how bad it was with the twins but it was also super bad with Z so I’m really hoping its another single pregnancy and not another set of twins because five under five is a maddening thought.
We thought that Z was going to be our last baby but I had such a strong feeling when she turned one that she’s wasn’t our last so agreed to revisit the idea when she turned two and we both agreed that there was definitely somebody missing in our family so started trying last September/October but just chose to be really casual about it and not think too much about it
Congratulations to everybody! I’ll probably spend some time reading the past posts to catch up.
