Thank you. I am not going to worry about all this![]()

Dating scans can be out, depending on the angle they take the measurements from (I was told this by an ultrasound tech).
My LMP is always out because my average day of ovulation is 21, not 14. If you’re guesstimating your ovulation date, it’s possible conception was a bit later than you think. Maybe you got an earlier positive as well? Some people get a positive well before two weeks.
I have a 5 day discrepancy between what I think is my due date and what the hospital thinks it is. It definitely stressed me out when the dating scan showed baby was behind what I was expecting, but everything is completely fine now. I hope things work out for you and that baby is fine! ![]()
It’s true. I am guessing about ovulation based on weird cramping on one side.
[name_m]Per[/name_m] early pregnancy tests, I’ve never tested earlier than a week prior to my period so I have no idea! It’s good to know that those hormones show up earlier for some, and maybe that’s what happened to me, too.
Also (out of order! ) I didn’t know ultrasounds can be wrong at the initial scan. [name_m]The[/name_m] doctor was doing the ultrasound instead of a US tech. In my field, people sometimes think they’re getting a better cleaning when it’s done by the dentist, but they’re not trained for that work in the same way a hygienist is trained. I wonder if it’s the same feeling between US techs and doctors. Two and a half more days.
[name_f]Thankful[/name_f] for you girls. I feel so encouraged ![]()
[name_m]The[/name_m] more I talk to ultrasounds techs, the more I realise scans really have a pretty big error margin. I knew they weren’t infallible, but I’m learning a lot with each pregnancy and scan (especially from techs who are open about the fact that scans aren’t perfect).
Your dating is based on how long baby is at the scan, but depending on where they’re implanted and how well the scan can see them, the measurement might not be exactly top to bottom, which would result in a date discrepancy.
If it’s of comfort, the tech at our dating scan also said that big discrepancies early on are less concerning than ones later on. So a 12 day delay at 20 weeks would be a much bigger red flag than it is at 8 weeks.
Crossing my fingers and toes for you!!
thank you ![]()
[name_m]Just[/name_m] had my monthly OB appointment, which went really well. I’ll be 16 weeks on [name_m]Thursday[/name_m]. It was so great and reassuring to hear baby’s heartbeat. It’s just the best sound in the world!
Now I’ve just got to wait a few weeks for my anatomy scan. Can’t wait to see how far the baby has come and (hopefully) find out if we’re having a boy or a girl. Mostly so we can more definitively talk names. ![]()
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] everyone is doing well and feeling good!
At the scan today, the baby measured at 6 weeks and this time there was no heartbeat. I wish you all the best with your babies ![]()
I am so sorry ![]()

So sorry to hear that. You’ll be in my thoughts.
Oh love… I’m so sorry
Sending you lots of love! ![]()
Look after yourself and be kind to yourself while you grieve and heal. Xx
Exciting! I am so hopeful for your anatomy scan. Do you have any ideas about names so far?
My heartburn has gotten really bad and started way before I remember it being an issue last time. I know I had GERD issues for the first time ever for a bit postpartum, but I also really thought it had resolved. I guess I am just more prone to it now. Hydration is a challenge these days, but I am trying to be more diligent about keeping my water bottle filled and nearby.
We have a pretty solid list, but we haven’t talked about names for a really long time, so the list might be a little outdated. We decided not to have a serious name talk until we find out the sex, just to make things a little easier. Of course, I have still been thinking about it nonstop.
But I feel like we have a lot of good options on our list, so hopefully we’ll be able to pick something fairly easily.
I’m so sorry about your heartburn! That doesn’t sound fun at all. I hope you’re able to get some relief soon!
I am so incredibly sorry. Thinking of you and sending you strength. ![]()

We’ve told our children and the rest of the family and friends yesterday, my mum knew pretty early on and my best friend did too but it’s nice to share this with everyone. It was pretty lowkey and relaxed as we told my in-laws with a onesie saying baby number 4 and the ultrasound and then just posted that on socials.
[name_m]The[/name_m] kids are so excited and [name_m]Jago[/name_m] has said he really wants a brother this time round but I’ve got a gut feeling it’s another girl. My mother in law thinks it’s a girl too and she has been correct every time when guessing the genders, even with the twins. I don’t know if I want to find out this time but I said that with [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and then buckled straight away when asked if I wanted to know at a scan.
I am so sorry ![]()
sending you love ![]()
We had our first ultrasound yesterday and it took all I had not to surprise my inlaws who were watching the kids! I would’ve except they are raising their granddaughter/our niece and I know the cat would be out of the bag if she heard. It will be another few weeks until we’d be able to tell my dad. Am I the only one who overthinks announcing? I’ve been burnt twice before though when my sister announced baby #3 for us, then blabbed to my dad’s entire side of the family about #4. I wish I could get away with waiting most of my pregnancy, but summer makes it hard to hide a bump
I’m already showing a lot at nearly 13 weeks.
I have definitely overthought it every time! I always doubt myself and our timing and ask hubby “are we sure this is right?” multiple times ![]()
I had another scan today at my local hospital and got to see baby again, 13 weeks today! I also got to chat with a midwife and even saw my midwife from J & V’s birth in passing which was so lovely!
I’m waiting on some blood work back to go along with the nuchal translucency testing but all is looking good. I’m still feeling really nauseous and feeling and being sick so they just wanted to check that out and I’ve been told there’s a chance I could be put on some anti-sickness meds to help because the last week I’ve been struggling more with sickness.
