[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Graciela[/name_f] Huamaní (10) is Claritza’s daughter and Clancy’s acquaintance. While she lives in [name_f]Colombia[/name_f], she shares a lot of positivity with the American and Canadian families. She misses her friends dearly and begs her mother for a cell phone to talk to the friends she’s gladly met along the way.
She loves swimming and gymnastics and is top tier in these sports. She feels like a champion and is graced in her skills, advancing quickly and letting her team shine. She will always be the girl to count on, and her friends miss her so much ever since her move away.

She is true to the people she cares about and makes their lives so happy. She never wants to let anyone down so she makes time for people’s appreciation. [name_f]Every[/name_f] lifetime achievement is special to her and she strives to reach goals.

Bullying is something she’s far from doing and understands some of her friends abroad may do it. She doesn’t condone it, her mother will support her and guide her way, but she will never talk down on her friends no matter where she goes.

Warning for aforementioned toxic friends and aforementioned false beliefs of infidelity.

[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_f]Milana[/name_f] Blanton (38) is a mother of one of Lucia’s friends, [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] Blanton, who currently lives in [name_m]Quebec[/name_m]. She understands Lucia’s struggles with adapting without her friend group, but she’s encouraged [name_f]Claritza[/name_f] to help [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] make new friends. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] relates to [name_f]Claritza[/name_f] given she too is a single mother to an only child, not to mention the bond [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] had in their group. She wishes [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] would have more friends outside the group as well, especially seeing [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] had a nice bond with [name_m]Ollie[/name_m] Kretschner and is having a hard time keeping that friendship going. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] knows [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] is quite shy, being the most so out of her group, but also that [name_m]Ollie[/name_m] really needs her. Juliette’s on good terms with Ollie’s mother [name_f]Loretta[/name_f], who’s tried so hard to get her husband to realise that she would never have an affair with him. Loretta’s recently taken a DNA test herself that showed she isn’t even the mother of [name_m]Sammy[/name_m], though she’s convinced the test is wrong and that the negative tests showing Sammy’s paternity could be wrong as well. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] isn’t so sure what to think of this, but knows it’s difficult for [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] to process such things. She’s already dealt with hardships in her role as a mother, let alone the possibility of not even being one’s mother.

[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is trying her best to get [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] and Ollie’s bond back on track. Often times she’s invited [name_m]Ollie[/name_m] over to her house, knowing [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] can sometimes be too shy to ask herself. She doesn’t mind that these times are usually at her house and not Loretta’s, given [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] may also not be in the mood to ask. Ask Loretta’s eldest, [name_f]Grace[/name_f], who is very well-aware on this. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] also knows Juliette’s career, [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] literally works in DNA research, though she’s hesitant on telling her mother [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] this, as more DNA tests feel like dropping a bomb on Sammy’s situation. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] knows [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] is happier with [name_m]Ollie[/name_m] than some of the “mean girl” friends and is glad [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] hasn’t been a bully against [name_m]Ollie[/name_m] in any way. She knows [name_m]Ollie[/name_m] is a true friend, though she’s tried to be empathetic about the other girls and see Sariah’s view in why she wants to stay with them. Though it’s not always something [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] agrees with.

She seems to be relatively fine with the other parents of Sariah’s friend group, except for [name_f]Queen[/name_f] [name_f]Bee[/name_f] Diana’s – who has a mother obsessed with fame, a father who also enjoys bullying people, and a maid who is more of a parent than the other two. She doesn’t like to make [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] feel uncomfortable but [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] already knows that [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] doesn’t like Diana’s parents. To the point where she wouldn’t want [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] at Diana’s house, especially seeing [name_f]Diana[/name_f] also influences her younger siblings to have her lifestyle. Still, [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] fears losing a friend and [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] knows this all too well. However she’s stern on the fact that [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] needs to dump this clique if they rag on her for having other friends. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] feels [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is at a good place away from the drama, even if she doesn’t know where to start in terms of making new friends. [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] is alright with [name_f]Sariah[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] talking to one another, though they often e-mail or snail mail long distance. She loves seeing how Sariah’s grown throughout her life and she will be Sariah’s biggest supporter seeing how much she’s willing to untangle the craziness.

cw: deadbeat dad

[name_f]Vivianne[/name_f] " [name_f]Viv[/name_f] " [name_f]May[/name_f] [Plummer] Mason-Plummer, pictured here before her second pregnancy, is a friend of [name_f]Juliette[/name_f], the pair having met when they were working together, prior to [name_f]Viv[/name_f] relocating to [name_f]Manhattan[/name_f]. This was after [name_f]Viv[/name_f] was offered a new position - a dream for her in terms of work, salary and potential for progression - and her husband, [name_m]Clancy[/name_m], encouraged her to follow her heart on the matter.

Saying goodbye to those she knows and cares for in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] wasn’t easy for [name_f]Viv[/name_f], who’s openly pretty sentimental, but the gains for her family have proven worth taking this step [although [name_f]Viv[/name_f] hopes to move back some day should the right opportunity arise for her family].

Having a second child isn’t something [name_f]Viv[/name_f] considered before meeting [name_m]Clancy[/name_m]. The deadbeat nature of Oliver’s dad made her wary, most of all because of how he made a lot of demands - choosing their sons first name, changing his mind about the nursery, even talking about moving house for school districts - before losing interest the moment actual responsibility was asked of him. He has paid child support since moving to Ohio, where his family live, but that’s the only contact between him and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], something that came about after several promises of visitation were broken.

While she’s forgiving about a lot of things, her son’s the absolute person [name_f]Viv[/name_f] won’t compromise for, and it’s why her relationship with [name_m]Clancy[/name_m] is so meaningful. The way he’s stepped up as a father and not changed in how he treats [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] since [name_f]Viv[/name_f] fell pregnant means the absolute world to her, as she didn’t imagine she’d meet someone so sincere in their goodness.

[name_f]Viv[/name_f] and [name_m]Clancy[/name_m] have chosen a name for their second child - which means peace - and everything about this experience already feels so much more positive to the whole family.

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] " [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] " [name_f]Kate[/name_f] [name_m]Plummer[/name_m] (29) is Viv’s younger sister and the aunt of [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and his unborn sibling. Her nephew considers her a ridiculously cool person as Ellie’s job as a flight attendant means she’s always travelling, bringing him gifts when she visits the Mason-Plummer family, and it’s not just to do with her work: [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] loves travelling abroad when she has a chance, and this is why she’s renting a room in a shared house at the moment, as settling in one place isn’t worth the costs thanks to her lifestyle.

In what she calls a cliche, Ellie’s boyfriend is a pilot, although they don’t work together, as he’s based in cargo hauls while she’s with people. He lives with his brother in a shared apartment, so the couple don’t have a ton of claimed space when they spend time together, but for them it’s not the biggest deal, as they’ve not settled into a particular rhythm yet and don’t want to rush things. [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] had a very whirlwind romance in high school that was difficult to break off, and so she’s pretty determined to not get in that situation again.

She does joke about envying her sister for moving to [name_m]New[/name_m] [name_m]York[/name_m] as, of course, it has a lot of perks [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] appreciates, but she knows a big city isn’t somewhere for her to call home. Airports are busy enough places, so [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] actually likes going back to [name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_m]Creek[/name_m] where life is much slower and quieter: the perfect environment to unwind after all her jet setting.

The two are serious about spending time together and love smoke art, though Ellie’s boyfriend is much more responsible and ambitious. So much talk of which brother is older and neither are open and direct, but it’s actually not[name_f][/name_f] the pilot after all! The two want to prove they are always side-by-side, even if it isn’t literal. Their parents are close, their maternal uncle and aunt are closer, but their paternal aunt and uncle are so far away.

Warning for babies switched at birth and unlikeable character.

[name_f]Harpina[/name_f] [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_m]Ambers[/name_m] (46) is the aunt who [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_m]Ares[/name_m] disliked greatly, even though she and her husband, the twins’ uncle, have since split. They’re glad Mr. [name_m]Martin[/name_m] is away from [name_f]Harpina[/name_f], though the fact he’s so distanced makes reuniting difficult. [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] doesn’t care, she’s always said they could “just fly over there”. [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] got along better with [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] since he was more open about his career choice and felt [name_m]Ares[/name_m] was immature for wanting to work freelance. She says freelance work isn’t that free because it depends so hard on people wanting to hire you over a “real professional”. Not to mention AI could easily replace that. While [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] was often biased, she did keep her feuds against her ex-husband away from the family. She knew they’d side with him. She and her husband weren’t really meant to marry, they only did because they had a grown daughter together. [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] got pregnant with his child when she was 20, and they were in a bad state in their relationship. He wasn’t going to leave her but she didn’t trust him. When their daughter was born, she was secretly very angry that her daughter looked more like him than her. So she conspired with a shady nurse to switch her daughter with another baby girl who had more similar features. It happened, and she started acting much more kind to her husband, mainly since he had no idea.

[name_f][/name_f]

The switch actually only lasted a few days, with some eagle eyes from the other family convinced this baby was not the baby who was born to them. So reluctantly (in Harpina’s eyes), the two were unswitched. Harpina’s husband was frightened but glad to be with his true daughter, and [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] had to play along. [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] went into medical school and became a doctor as planned, giving a stiff cold shoulder that having a child wouldn’t control her life. She never had another one and her daughter really wanted to impress [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] at first. She was convinced [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] secretly disliked her and her husband but didn’t act on this. Eventually she started loathing [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] back and didn’t want to keep supporting her. [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] did give her a good life in childcare during her early years, and she and her husband gave a lot of time with her to bond with cousins, but she always felt something was missing.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Harpina[/name_f] is actually the hospital employee who mistakenly switched [name_m]Sammy[/name_m] and [name_m]Sal[/name_m]. It was a genuine accident, but also because she just didn’t care. She just saw them as two babies both named [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] who had very ambiguous facial features. [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] is acutely aware something was wrong, but didn’t bother. The families weren’t smart enough to turn them in after a few days, and are still living switched, so [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] feels she has nothing to do with those families anymore. [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] and [name_m]Ares[/name_m] had more visible differences as babies and they were twins. Granted, [name_m]Sammy[/name_m] and [name_m]Sal[/name_m] look much different now[name_f][/name_f] but [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] wouldn’t have known. [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] doesn’t really care about family time since her inevitable divorce, though she’s willing to talk to [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] and [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] as long as it’s not about children. Harpina’s daughter only sees her on big get-togethers, but she’s mainly moved on. Admittedly, [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] feels sorry for [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] and the fact her husband wants a divorce, accusing her of an affair. But Harpina’s alright considering she was divorced too and turned out fine, and glad she’s not getting blamed for this. What she doesn’t know is [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] has[name_f][/name_f] tried to contact her, though [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] does not[name_f][/name_f] want suspicion. And given the way [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] treated her sole daughter, [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] is not the type of person to get parenting advice from, when [name_f]Loretta[/name_f] is actively trying to be a good mother of five.

[name_f]Selene[/name_f] [name_f]Artemis[/name_f] [name_m]Martin[/name_m] (26) is Harpina’s estranged daughter. She knows [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] wanted a different girl as her daughter. It angers her that her mother would attempt to put her with a different family. She works in flight as well as a baggage handler. Her father is very special to her and the only consistent figure in her life, though she’s grown closer to her cousins in the aftermath. There are so many unsolved problems in her life and she is still willing to have answers in one way or another.

Warning for toxic family and debts.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f] “ [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] “ [name_f]Trina[/name_f] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] (26) is the other young woman in Selene’s switch, though she wasn’t really in the know of [name_f]Selene[/name_f]. She’s aware her family took home the wrong baby at one point but laughs it off. She wonders how the other baby, [name_f]Selene[/name_f], would have fared under the name [name_f]Chrysanthemum[/name_f]. Her parents are happily married, though she was used to her grandparents fighting. One of her paternal cousins was involved and didn’t like [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] for her mother, which really bothered her. [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] was used to never having extended family comment on her achievements, though she loved that her parents had her back. [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] would never be okay with anyone belittling her mother’s intelligence though [name_f][/name_f]- her mother was the one who realised days later that she had the wrong baby! Her parents were nearing 40 when they had [name_f]Rumi[/name_f], a contrast from [name_f]Harpina[/name_f] and her husband. So they found her a glory, especially with how they almost didn’t raise her. Sometimes [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] finds her parents a bit overbearing on how much they hug and cherish her, but she finds them wholesome.

[name_f][/name_f]

Rumi’s had some bitterness from her paternal grandfather, in the fact that she had a similar career as him, but wasn’t doing as well. By the way she was mollycoddled as a baby, he assumed that she was going to grow up thinking she’s better than anyone else. [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] didn’t want that outlook, even if her first days were being seen as a “better Selene” to [name_f]Harpina[/name_f], which she never wanted to think. [name_m]Even[/name_m] though he was openly more successful, he left the family in debt when he passed away, which felt awful and somewhat suspicious. [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] admittedly isn’t good at trying to prove people wrong either. It feels like she tells people the same thing. So she often tries to avoid this altogether. It feels like she tells people the same thing. While [name_f]Rumi[/name_f] knows where she stands in her family, she’s always talking to co-workers and seeing their new perspectives. She used to hate not knowing how others felt, but she’s fine with accepting and learning. Ironically, she’s a co-worker of Loretta’s husband, though he hasn’t discussed issues so personal with his co-workers. However, he has a niece who’s becoming a cousin figure to [name_f]Rumi[/name_f], and she has a very exquisite view on the matter.
