I have seen this done for girls, but not for boys. If it has been done, please post the thread below. What are some of your favorite girl names for boys? They can be first names, middle names, or nicknames, or guilty pleasures.
Some of mine are [name_u]Mackenzie[/name_u], [name_u]Harmony[/name_u], [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Luci[/name_f], and [name_f]Joy[/name_f].
my absolute favorite is [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] / [name_f]Jasmin[/name_f]!
I also thought [name_u]Lark[/name_u] sounded like more of a boy name before I joined nb (even had a male character named [name_u]Lark[/name_u] for a while), and I still think it sounds quite neutral!
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] is my favourite boy name, I know that it is unisex but it leans much heavier on the girl name side but i think it would be so cute on a boy
A lot of the ones listed arenāt even girlsā names to me! But to add my own two cents, Willow is by far my biggest love. Itās one of my ten favourite names for a boy! It has the cool factor of other -o boy names like Arlo & Cosmo, with the friendly nickname Will and the sweet nature connection
I also quite like Hazel on a boy, although in that case I prefer it on a girl! Really most word names are gender-neutral to me by principle. Just imagine a boy called Sunny or Summer!!
A non-word guilty pleasure name that comes to mind is Winifred, which I can imagine on any gender so easily! And I like Evelyn on a boy 10 times more than I do on a girl (with either pronunciation).
Also feminine nicknames from masculine names! Like [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] from [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m], [name_f]Pia[/name_f] or [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] from Caspian/Cassian, [name_u]Allie[/name_u] from [name_m]Marshall[/name_m] etc
Hard bc most names known today as primarily girl names began as boy names about 100 or so years ago. Im thinking of the following which all started as boy names, as far as I know:
[name_u]Courtney[/name_u]
[name_u]Whitney[/name_u]
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
[name_u]Ashley[/name_u]
[name_u]Kelly[/name_u]
[name_u]Kim[/name_u]
[name_u]Lindsey[/name_u]
I am sure there are more but those are the ones off the top of my head.
I love [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] on a boy but not as much on a girl- also [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] (Sylvester?), [name_u]Laurel[/name_u], [name_u]Izzy[/name_u], [name_f]Leontine[/name_f], [name_u]Honor[/name_u], [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_u]Kitty[/name_u], [name_f]Clemency[/name_f], [name_u]Darcy[/name_u], [name_u]Skye[/name_u], [name_u]Hyacinth[/name_u], [name_u]Celeste[/name_u], [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f] (any weekday name), [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], [name_u]Seren[/name_u], [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]
[name_u]Sidney[/name_u] / [name_u]Sydney[/name_u], [name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f], and [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] have always been boysā names to me
Non-anglophone boysā names that are feminine sounding, such as [name_u]Ilia[/name_u], Eanna, [name_u]Elia[/name_u], [name_u]Andrea[/name_u], too
