šŸ« madison plays name guru to the berries

The moment youā€™ve been waiting for has finally arrived  Nope Iā€™ve overhyped it please dial down your expectations

Like a few others that have mentioned introversion, being quiet, romanticizing - Iā€™ll say that you will pick a name that is very meaningful to you and this name will be thought out in depth. Itā€™s likely to have significant meaning. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if itā€™s something that only you would pick up on like a memory of making flower crowns or learning to play guitar.

I was ready to lean into the free-spirited, spunky names until I got to the last bit: a cute little house walking distance to school. Your kids are not going to be living in a van following your favorite band on tour. Youā€™re going to find a house in a nice school district where your kids can take music lessons and dance in the kitchen!

This definitely takes it down a notch. But Iā€™m not saying you wonā€™t pick a whimsical name! I actually donā€™t see you picking a ā€œclassicā€ name unless it holds personal significance (like naming after Grandpa [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] or passing on the middle name Elizabeth). The whimsicality is just more likely to be along the lines of [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] or [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] than [name_f]Feather[/name_f] or [name_f]Sunflower[/name_f]. It also wonā€™t be a trendy pick or one that you picked because you heard it a few weeks before the baby came along and thought it sounded nice. No, this name will be thought and overthought.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you remember in elementary school when everyone would decorate a shoebox to serve as a mailbox on Valentineā€™s [name_f]Day[/name_f]? (Hopefully this was not just a me thing) I think the ultimate test for your pick is whether it would fit on an over the top Valentineā€™s [name_f]Day[/name_f] box. Iā€™m talking rainbow letters and causing a national glitter shortage. This imagery doesnā€™t actually tell you that much about the names I chose but you simply have to understand that this is what I was imagining.

Individual name predictions:
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Bernadette[/name_f], [name_f]Roberta[/name_f], [name_f]Bobbie[/name_f], [name_f]Margo[/name_f], [name_f]Andie[/name_f], [name_f]Rani[/name_f], Josephine/Joey/Joanie, [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]
[name_m]Flynn[/name_m], [name_m]Finn[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Ozzy[/name_m], [name_m]Hart[/name_m], [name_m]August[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], [name_m]Zeppelin[/name_m], [name_m]Asa[/name_m], [name_m]Casey[/name_m], [name_m]Jesse[/name_m]

Combo prediction ideas:

[name_f]Bernadette[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f]

[name_m]Asa[/name_m] [name_f]Rooney[/name_f]

notes

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! [name_f]Glad[/name_f] youā€™re back - oh wait actually this is your first time here because I predicted for some other [name_f]Mollie[/name_f] with different kids names;)

If I were to write a headline for this prediction it would be ā€œBoy With Sisters Needs a Feminist Name!ā€ Often naming a son after a bunch of daughters can introduce some style dichotomy. This doesnā€™t have to be a big deal but I dislike when a sibset is along the lines of ā€œArabella, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], and Maverick.ā€ You have a lot of different directions that you can go in within your style, but I also see some areas for potential missteps. For example, when looking for virtue/feminist names I saw [name_f]Hero[/name_f]. [name_f]Hero[/name_f] (g) would fit perfectly with your crew - a literary reference and a favorable word name. [name_f]Hero[/name_f] (b) would be fine, Iā€™m sort of dramatizing, but I donā€™t like the imagery of these girls - with their mettle and their MERIT - and then brother [name_f]Hero[/name_f] swoops in.

I have a few names that I really want to sell you on. And a bunch of names that felt less like serendipity but may work better in actuality.

[name_m]March[/name_m]: Loooove [name_m]March[/name_m] for you! Literary through the [name_m]March[/name_m] Sisters. But it also reminds me of the Womenā€™s [name_m]March[/name_m]. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation is whether you might feel like month names are off the table since you already have [name_m]Alcott[/name_m] [name_f]June[/name_f]. [name_m]Alcott[/name_m], [name_f]Favor[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f] & [name_m]March[/name_m].

[name_m]Jem[/name_m]: We have [name_f]Harper[/name_f] Leeā€™s [name_m]Jem[/name_m], [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_m]Jemison[/name_m] the astronaut, and the general idea of gemstones. If it werenā€™t for the other references, I might have gone for the true word name of [name_f]Gem[/name_f] but I was really excited about the prospect of the kids reading these books (and TKAM of course). [name_m]Alcott[/name_m], [name_f]Favor[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f] & [name_m]Jem[/name_m].

[name_f]Bell[/name_f]: A double feminist literary reference! [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]BrontĆ«[/name_f] used the name ā€œEllis Bellā€ and I think bell hooks is such an icon. You could also dial in to literal bells such as the [name_f]Liberty[/name_f] [name_f]Bell[/name_f]. [name_m]Alcott[/name_m], [name_f]Favor[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f] & [name_f]Bell[/name_f].

[name_m]Ellis[/name_m]: The other half of [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] [name_f]Bell[/name_f]. I also found out about [name_f]Jill[/name_f] [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] who played a pivotal role in advancing the success of womenā€™s soccer. I worry that it might be too similar to [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] or too tame compared to the girls, but I do really enjoy it in this set. [name_m]Alcott[/name_m], [name_f]Favor[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f] & [name_m]Ellis[/name_m].

[name_m]Smith[/name_m]: I passed over [name_m]Smith[/name_m] on about 10 different searches of feminist scholars, authors, politicians, symbols. And then I realized that perhaps it was on all of those lists for a reason. We have [name_f]Zadie[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] E. [name_m]Smith[/name_m], [name_f]Barbara[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], [name_m]Smith[/name_m] College (historically womenā€™s college), and its connection to hammers as a symbol of suffrage. [name_m]Alcott[/name_m], [name_f]Favor[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f] & [name_m]Smith[/name_m].

Those are the names that I felt I had to really explain out because the connections kept coming up and I wasnā€™t sure they would be obvious enough on their own. For the rest Iā€™m not saying that theyā€™re less meaningful, just that I think they can largely explain themselves? The only exception is that I picked out a couple bird names because I liked the idea of birdsong, animal symbolism, and I saw something about birds ā†’ rising ā†’ uprising ā†’ feminism. That one I will admit is pretty roundabout. Iā€™m also including the above names in the form of combos. But everything counts as a prediction even if you choose [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] instead of [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]!

Back to the name predictions:
[name_m]Jem[/name_m] [name_m]Valentine[/name_m], [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] [name_m]Gardiner[/name_m], [name_m]Woolf[/name_m], [name_m]March[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] (maybe ā€˜Marsā€™), [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m], [name_m]Lucky[/name_m] [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] (maybe ā€˜Lunaā€™), [name_m]Noble[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m], [name_f]Harper[/name_f] [name_m]Seneca[/name_m], [name_f]Blume[/name_f], [name_m]Smith[/name_m] [name_f]Indigo[/name_f], [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m], [name_f]Bell[/name_f] [name_m]Vincent[/name_m], [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_f]Hope[/name_f] [name_m]Alistair[/name_m], [name_m]Pax[/name_m] [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m], [name_m]Truth[/name_m] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] (maybe ā€˜Rueā€™), [name_f]Blume[/name_f] [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_m]Rise[/name_m] [name_m]Callum[/name_m]

Swing back anytime!

Itā€™s these books

[name_f]Madison[/name_f], you have done it again! ā€¦ Well for the first time, I mean!

Iā€™m reading this as I type, so donā€™t be surprised if my thoughts are jumbled and ranty, and the whole reply ends up wordy and repetitive!

I honestly didnā€™t hate [name_f]Hero[/name_f] as a brother name in this set until you said it in your answerā€¦it makes 100% sense, and I think is why I wasnā€™t the biggest fan of it subconsciously. The girls donā€™t need their brother to be the Heroā€¦they are! And the title of ā€œBoy With Sisters Needs a Feminist Name!ā€ is so fun

I love the differences, ones to sell me on, ones that are more ā€œprobable!ā€ Iā€™m not usually a fan of [name_m]Jem[/name_m], but heā€™s surprisingly fun in this set. I love the books, too. Iā€™m a huge fan of reading childrenā€™s books and cherry-picking the ones Iā€™ll buy for my babies, so itā€™s always good to have suggestions! Fun for name searching, too. For some reason, seeing [name_f]Merit[/name_f] and [name_m]Jem[/name_m] together is reminding me of strawberry jam, which ties in well to the growing fruits aspect of my explanation! [name_f]Bell[/name_f] is never one I would have thought of for a boy, but I probably would have turned a shoulder to [name_m]Vision[/name_m], [name_f]Favor[/name_f], and [name_f]Merit[/name_f] in the past, so why should I do that now! I do like the gender-bend in this situationā€¦makes for a good feminist feel, especially with [name_m]Alcott[/name_m] being somewhat of a ā€œboysā€ name (at least according to Nameberry!) I would have never expected to like [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] with them, but I do find him fun. [name_m]Alcott[/name_m] and [name_f]Favor[/name_f] have their prominent Oā€™s in the second syllable, and [name_f]Merit[/name_f] and [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] would have their Iā€™s in that same spot! Smithā€¦golly, I might actually like this one for a girl, honestly! Thatā€™s a good thing, I supposeā€¦I was initially going to request a sister name! What a fun tie this name has too.

And you know what, I actually love the idea of birds ā†’ rising ā†’ uprising ā†’ feminism. They can also represent freedom, which is - of course - central to the feminist movement. Birds do have that quality of being sweet and peaceful, with a spunky and strong spirit, which is another representation Iā€™m particularly fond of in names that relates back to feminism, for the type of person I am especially. These are the honors and symbolism I love!! Doesnā€™t make much sense, definitely a stretch, a little offbeatā€¦itā€™s perfect

[name_m]Ellis[/name_m] [name_m]Gardiner[/name_m] is so freaking funā€¦I love, love, love the soft adventurer vibe the combination has! Spunky, but not in an overtly masculine way, which I think sometimes puts me off combos, because although I generally like historically male names for my boys, a strong sense of masculinity in a combo can make it feel a little sharp and uncomfortable to me. [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] as a whole is great, and though Iā€™m generally a fan of the [name_m]Wolf[/name_m] spelling, I definitely think the double O is the way to go here! [name_m]March[/name_m] [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] is so fun, as is [name_f]Lark[/name_f] [name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m]. [name_m]Noble[/name_m] [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], this is probably something I would have picked for myself, but with maybe a different middle. [name_m]Noble[/name_m] is the perfect fit for a brother, in my opinion! Soft and strong, but not more valiant than his sisterā€™s names - theyā€™re all even and badass in their own way! [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] Maximillianā€¦wow, just wow!!! I donā€™t think I ever would have thought of [name_f]Eyre[/name_f], but I adore him as a brother to these girls :face_holding_back_tears: Going to separate this, as I am a terrible rambler.

[name_f]Blume[/name_f] is so fun for a boy, too! [name_m]Smith[/name_m] [name_f]Indigo[/name_f] fits that bright vibe I described and so thoroughly associate with these names! [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m] is just great tooā€¦like so outdoorsy and sweet, which is how Iā€™d imagine this boy to be! Heā€™s a little quiet because of his outspoken and headstrong sisters, but heā€™s got that same spirit. I love the alliteration of [name_m]Woolf[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]! Iā€™m not usually a big fan of it, but when alliteration is done right it can be so fun, and I think you managed to do that here! [name_m]Truth[/name_m] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] ā€œRueā€ is genuinely perfect  I donā€™t know if itā€™s the exact vibe I was looking for, but it 100% fits with my general boys list, so Iā€™ll certainly be adding it!

And of course, just like last time, I loved reading the notes for this (especially seeing the ā€œBridgerton-y namesā€ noteā€¦Iā€™m a big Bridgerton girl, haha!!) Once again, you have me laughing with the part of ā€œHozier (LĢ¶eĢ¶dĢ¶aĢ¶!!)ā€¦itā€™s a boy :laughing:ā€. Seeing the names of his songs included just shows how detailed you are. This is an art form in and of itself! Also loving ā€œRoosevelt ā€œRoseā€? At what point is it more weird than quirky?ā€ :sob:

Thank you so, so, so much! You are a genius, [name_f]Madison[/name_f]! :white_heart:

And because I am an idiot who didnā€™t have a brother name in mind before asking you to predict what Iā€™d pick, Iā€™ll just say, from your suggestions Iā€™d probably go with either [name_m]Ellis[/name_m] [name_m]Gardiner[/name_m] or [name_f]Eyre[/name_f] [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]

this is so spot on, so perfect, youā€™ve nailed every bit of it!

this!!! sometimes i feel like the meaning behind alot of my names isnt ā€œimportantā€ enough because i often attach significance to very small moments, but i guess thatā€™s what makes it me

youā€™ve got it, this is everything i want in life :heartpulse:

this is painfully accurate!!

i totally see the vision!! this sums up what iā€™m looking for perfectlyā€” i want my kids to have a splendidly normal childhood, filled with all the little things that make growing up so magical!

and then the names oh my goodness!! you did a splendid job! like youā€™ve said above, itā€™s especially difficult to guess names when sentimentality is a big part of how i choose names, so even if my specific names arenā€™t on the list, the style is just right!! i love seeing all of the grateful dead inspired names, especially loving seeing althea, sheā€™s a special one for me<3 and your boys list is giving me some new ideas!! i especially love hart as a middle!

OMG, Iā€™m obsessed with this thread!! How fun!
Firstly, a bit about me:

Summary

I am a outgoing, talkative, extroverted person who loves engaging with people- and any future job of mine will definitely represent this love of connecting with and helping others , especially children as I love little ones!

My biggest passion is dance- specifically Ballet with I have been dancing since I was little. I find the balance of grace and strength, elegance and power, very beautiful. The fluidity of contemporary also appeals to me! I love the way that through dance I am able to express myself and feel freedom and joy through movements, as well as connect to my body and clear my mind- almost like a form of meditation.

I also adore reading, anything I can get my hands on! Love the classics like Jane Eyre, Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, etcā€¦but also have a Sherlock Holmes and Poe lover in me. Any name that has a literature connection is extra special to me.

My favourite paintings are Claude Monetā€™s waterlilies and Degasā€™ Dancers in the Foyer!

As for my naming style

Summary

I have two children named Catherine Ophelia and Thomas Lavender!! Iā€™m looking for a name for a third sibling ( gender unknown, but my instinct says girl so feel free to focus on girl names!) I love names that have a soft sound-boys names included! I would describe my style as classic with a touch of whimsy, or timeless with a hint of storybook nostalgia.
Bonus if the first name works well in Spanish, although it is NOT a priority as I know it narrows down the options considerably and might not fit the vibe well!

I adore the moodboard you made for me a while ago in the moodboard aesthetic thread by the way!! It captures the vibe Iā€™m going for perfectly, so feel free to take inspiration from that!!
Thank you so so much and sorry if this is too much detail!!

oh my gosh madison :sob: :sob: thank you so much

having both my irl and nameberry names suggested to me here makes me feel amazing

all of these suggestions are perfect. So many of these names are on my list, and the rest will be new additions! [name_m]Talha[/name_m], [name_f]Afnan[/name_f], [name_m]Nasim[/name_m], Kunala, [name_m]Varun[/name_m] all going on the list!

[name_f]Amrit[/name_f] [name_m]Surya[/name_m] and [name_f]Gita[/name_f] [name_f]Hayat[/name_f] are some of the most beautiful combos Iā€™ve ever heard. [name_f]Gita[/name_f] [name_f]Hayat[/name_f] also has an insane amount of personal significance for me, how did you do that?

Iā€™ve never thought of choosing a middle name for nameberry but [name_f]Mayim[/name_f] [name_f]Afnan[/name_f] is too beautiful of a combo to ignore. You might have just chosen my new online name!!

I donā€™t often participate in threads like this because I know people can understandably feel uncomfortable working with unfamiliar/multilingual names, but something about your post felt so inviting that I just had to try!!

The care you took in your notes on my names and the fact that you looked into bharatanatyam makes my heart so happy. This made my entire month!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart

Iā€™m back!

Admittedly, this one makes me a little nervous. I got about halfway through your comment with a pretty distinct game plan. Then I got to your kidsā€™ names. They are absolutely gorgeous! But if I were predicting for your first baby, letā€™s just say I wouldnā€™t have gotten it right.

I had pretty strong imagery - Highlands, watercolors, outdoorsy, cuddly hand-knit sweaters, pastel colors, waterlilies. Literary and art references would be in there somewhere too. Some of the names that I had been ā€œexpectingā€ were Evangeline and Gilbert. I had actually already come up with Evangeline Maud/Evangeline Lavender Maud. But Evangeline is not (necessarily) what I would predict as a sibling to your names.

I wrote that your kidsā€™ names could be a faerie or blacksmith. They would fit dancing through the night in Midsummer Nightā€™s Dream just as they would carrying picnic baskets through Avonlea.

For my predictions, Iā€™m including a few that could be described as ā€œwildcards.ā€ Theyā€™re very likely not on your list, but I think they would be very cool with your set.

Before I get into the names, thereā€™s one that I want to pitch/defend/explain. I feel like with your interests and thoughtfulness, you may need no explanation but these were connections I was previously unaware of so perhaps this will be helpful to you/othersā€¦

Terebinth: It is a landmark tree that grows slowly with nearly indestructible wood, remaining green in times of drought, and able to regrow from the stump if cut down. David defeated Goliath in the Valley of the Terebinth. While under a terebinth tree, Abraham was told that Sarah would give birth to a son. And Gideon was called to be a great warrior while under a terebinth tree. I donā€™t want to take away from those great points, but it also reminds me of Terabithia. Doesnā€™t quite meet your Romance language aspect, but Iā€™m listing Terebinth for a boy or a girl (potentially nicknamed Benny? Or Tibby? Terra/Terry isnā€™t the vibe imho).

Iā€™m going to primarily list singular name predictions because, you said it yourself, Iā€™m going to have a tough time guessing your (often special/honor name) middles. But I do have a few that just sounded particularly nice;)

Individual name predictions:

Boys:
Bede, Paschal, Hadrian, Augustine, Plutarch, Wordsworth, Terebinth, Bartholomew, Tavish/Hamish, Ferdinand, Bonaventure, Erasmus

Girls:
Theodota, Terebinth, Zinnia, Hereswith, Fortunata, Clarimond, Hildegard, Persis, Liliette, Felicienne, Neoma/Cleoma, Andromeda/Halimede (I like the ā€œmedomaiā€ = ā€œto be mindful of, to provide for, to think onā€ but not 100% sure what name I would go for)

Combo prediction ideas:

Theodota Lily
Terebinth Matilda
Clarimond Avielle
Zinnia Martine
Cleoma Evangeline
Viviette Maud

Paschal Fenn
Hadrian August(e)
Wordsworth Jude
Bede Alexander
Bartholomew Sion
Ferdinand Walter

:lotus:

This was really fun to come up with but Iā€™m a bit worried that I got stuck in my own head with these ideas. So I would be really happy to give you a fresh set if you arenā€™t vibing with these - or if you just want to comment again you (and everyone else) are welcome to any time!

Your comment is so meaningful to me! Iā€™m glad you like the names! And the idea that you would choose one for your online name or add some to your list makes me really happy

this made me tear up (okay I did tear up at a McDonaldā€™s commercial yesterday so maybe not the highest bar). Iā€™m so glad to have had the opportunity to predict for you

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], hello, I made it!!

Oh, [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]! Sorry for that, had to do it. But I really like [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] - feels very sweet, homey, prairie, sunny.

I know a [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] (with an H) who has siblings along the lines of J0hn P@ul, N@ncy, ā€¦ and Al!s0n which always threw me but I digress. [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], to me, is sort of ā€œtier 2 traditional.ā€ First you have your Elizabeths, [name_f]Marys[/name_f], Graces, and then you have [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] at the next level. Still traditional, everyone knows it, but less commonly heard.

I definitely see the Biblical, classic, cottagecore vibes in [name_f]Susanna[/name_f]. I think that since you can identify that in yourself (consciousness), then your future choices for her sibling(s) will match it as well.

Individual name predictions:

Girls:
Marianne/Marian/Martha, [name_f]Philippa[/name_f], [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f], [name_f]Virginia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Joan[/name_f], Dorothy/Theodora, [name_f]Lois[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f], [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f], [name_f]Edith[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

Boys:
[name_m]Jacoby[/name_m], [name_m]Walter[/name_m], [name_m]Truman[/name_m], [name_m]Clement[/name_m], Abraham/Abram, Benjamin/Benedict, [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m], [name_m]Amos[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_m]Frederick[/name_m], [name_m]Albert[/name_m]

You didnā€™t give a middle name for [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] so Iā€™m going to take this into my own hands and give some different vibe options
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Prairie[/name_f], [name_f]Raphaela[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] + [name_m]Jacoby[/name_m] [name_f]June[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] + [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] [name_m]Amos[/name_m]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] + [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Clare[/name_f], [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] [name_m]Benjamin[/name_m] + [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f], [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Rue[/name_f] + [name_m]Truman[/name_m] [name_f]Sage[/name_f]

Oh my goodness, this is fabulous [name_f]Madison[/name_f]! You have totally nailed my style! Lots of names that are currently on my list or have been on past lists, but there are also some that I hadnā€™t really considered! Lots to think over! Thank you so much for the time youā€™ve put into this!

 Itā€™s ok, I blame myself. I probably gave too much info haha! And should have specified maybe that Alphonse is the only one my husband chose solo and really set the precedent for me because I really like cohesion/nice patterns/repetitive sounds that arenā€™t too in-your-face matchy.

Ɖvangelie is one of my all-time favorite girls and Evangeline was my middle choice for my last pregnancy if R. had been a girl. Also really like Evangelina.

I have never thought of Terabinth ā€œTibbyā€ but I do really like the symbolism and the thought process is totally me!!! I can actually see it for a boy too! And I actually have always liked the sound of Terabithiaā€”I came up with a Tirsaera inspired in part by Terabithia.

I think I wasnā€™t clear on this. My point was that I wouldnā€™t have used ā€œWilliamā€ if not for my inspirations and the meaning behind the name (because William feels so extremely overused to me) but my other top choice of my long-time favorite (Oliver) didnā€™t fit meaningfully enough for me (if ravens inhabited olive trees Oliver would have been a bigger contender) and Theodore just didnā€™t pack as much inspiration for me. Plus, I like the repetitive ā€œwiā€ in the first and middles! I think how I shouldā€™ve put it is that even if a name isnā€™t necessarily my typical choice, I may just go for it based on the beautiful meaning of the name itself or the meaning it takes on when paired with another name. Iā€™m interested in seeing meaningful combos if youā€™re up to it!

Pascal has been off and on my list, August is one of my longest standing favorites but too popular for the first spot, I like Augustine as a name but wouldnā€™t use it as I am not very inspired by the views of Augustine. Iā€™m also not inspired by Catholic saint names (I may like some of the names but am not inspired by Catholic sainthood).

Hadrien/Hadrian has also been on and off my list. I like the sound but canā€™t glean substantial meaning from it.

I also do like Bartholomew and Erasmus! Wordsworth is a neat suggestion I have never considered!!

Zinnia and Lillette are pretty (Lillette is new to me!)

I like the suggestions of Wordsworth Jude, (Jude is a favorite) Hadrian August and Pascal Fenn! Also, Liliette and Avielle are pretty, similar to my style and new to me!

Also really like some of the names in the notes!!!

Thank you! I know I wrote a lot so Iā€™ll do a new post and shorten it this time and if you can try to forget everything else and just go off of my new post Iā€™d be happy to see more fresh ideas!!!

oh my goodness - how am i only seeing this now? this is absolutely amazing! thank you so much for doing this!

if you have the time i would absolutely love to see what names you have for me :sunny:

a bit about me!

my absolute favourite place to be is at the beach, surfing, swimming or doing absolutely anything else in the water. i literally never go on holiday, well overseas at least, but my dream is to travel around europe. half of me wants to raise my kids in a small town in switzerland and the other half wants to stay near where i live already, by the beach! i love sport, especially running (athletics and cross country), netball, touch footy and soccer. i love reading, but one of my favourite things to do is curl up in bed and watch friends or any rom-com movie. i love babies and little kids and have three younger siblings myself. iā€™m a pretty confident, bubbly person and fairly popular amongst my friends/other people my age but if i find someone annoying, i find them annoying. i really donā€™t like ā€˜followersā€™ and when people try to exclude others by just being nice to one person. overall, i would say that i am a pretty fun person! anyway, thats just a bit about me!

thank you so much!!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Thanks for your patience!

[name_f]Marilla[/name_f] [name_f]Hope[/name_f] & [name_m]Robin[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] feel so soft, sunlit, happy, and nostalgic. Like running through a meadow carrying a picnic basket. They feel a little clunky (not in a Germanic ā€˜Bertha Hildegardā€™ way but in a leather shoes & skipping rocks way). I donā€™t forsee their sibling having a name that is modern or super on trend. I also wanted to look for names that have some sort of literary, religious, or nature symbolism/meaning.

I wasnā€™t sure how much overlap you would be interested in. [name_m]Can[/name_m] you have two [name_m]Austen[/name_m] names? Two names from [name_m]Little[/name_m] Women? I would have included some like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (but its sound/cadence reminded me too much of Marilla), Christopher/Kit (but [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] Robinā€¦), [name_m]Colin[/name_m] (but 2 _o_in seemed too much), [name_f]Marianne[/name_f] (but 2 [name_f]Mari[/name_f]- names). I also thought that some names would work amazingly but sounded too ā€œfancy.ā€ For example, [name_f]Anne[/name_f] liked [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] because it sounded gorgeous, dramatic. But I see your names as more practical, so [name_f]Anne[/name_f] > [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]!

Individual name predictions (some of these may be middle only but I wanted to include them anyway):

Oh my gosh! I literally squealed when I saw the notification for this! And you did not disappoint
The thought you put into this is amazing. The notes were so fun to read, and I love all the combos you made. [name_f]Elinor[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f] Caroline?! I would name my kids these in a heartbeat. But the boys combos are especially breathtaking. [name_m]Charles[/name_m] [name_f]Wren[/name_f], [name_m]Edmund[/name_m] [name_m]Anchor[/name_m], [name_m]Timothy[/name_m] [name_m]Harbor[/name_m], [name_m]Philip[/name_m] [name_m]Linus[/name_m], [name_m]Gilbert[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], [name_m]James[/name_m] Atticusā€”all so stunning. [name_f]Do[/name_f] mind if I put some of these in my UC?
Anyways, thank you so so much, this was so fun, and you are absolutely amazing at this! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Hello, Iā€™m coming back again! Feel free to ignore me if itā€™s too much, Madison

My husband and I are having our first child, and we do not know their sex yet! Iā€™ve wanted children for as long as I can remember, and have always felt very maternal and drawn to positions in childcare. I worked as a nanny through grad-school and before that was a babysitter. Iā€™ve followed gentle/respectful parenting in those jobs and plan to do so with my children. I find IVF and fertility a very interesting topic, and enjoy researching it in my free time, as strange as it sounds. At the moment, I work as a postpartum doula, but I have a degree in psychology and planned to become a perinatal and postpartum therapist, specifically for those dealing with PPD and PPA. I donā€™t plan on going back to work until this (and any subsequent) baby is in school full-time, but Iā€™ve done newborn and childhood photography on the side since I was in school and will be continuing to do that until then!

I love reading (the book closest to my heart is A Court of Silver Flames) and romance, and am a hopeless romantic. My husband and I had a small wedding with only our closest friends and family members a few years back, it was super small and intimate and I think that reflects us a lot! Our house is from the Victorian era and is cozy and warm. We have a big back yard that leads to the woods and spend a lot of time outside together enjoying nature, as we live in the countryside. Iā€™ve always leaned towards being stereotypically feminine and have wanted to be a SAHM since I was a teen, but Iā€™m also an outspoken feminist and tend to be stubborn! I enjoy flowy skirts and bows, flowers, crocheting, impressionist paintings, traveling the world, and writing! I am introverted and only have a few close friends, Iā€™ve always lived quietly and been a bit of a hermit! I enjoy the vintage cottagecore aesthetic. My husband and I have three cats and we hope to eventually get a dog and perhaps some ducks! I like the idea of homesteading, but it isnā€™t something Iā€™ll probably pursue. I try to live mindfully and recycle and I want to keep this earth in the best condition possible. Iā€™ve found my love of baking and cooking in adulthood. I enjoy watching ballet and figure skating. My favorite things include Monet, Hozier, childrenā€™s literature, romance, the stars, sunsets, pink tulips, making flower bouquets, spending time with my family, the season of fall, watching my favorite movies and reading my favorite books repeatedly, and thinking about motherhood.

So, Madison, if youā€™re playing name guru, what names would you predict for me?
