honestly, i kinda dig jean augustine celine as a combo (the names that originally inspired that post)
at this point if i have a girl… who even knows i’m all set for like 10 boys but i don’t think i even have one girl name that i’m in love with
[name_u]August[/name_u] is a summer month but [name_u]August[/name_u] is the most autumn-y name ever
[name_f]Michelle[/name_f] feels like such an older sibling name but because of Full House I can see it on little siblings only
[name_u]Jasper[/name_u] is the greenest name ever but jasper stone is brown
I’ve always felt this way about August, but I have no idea why
I love how [name_f]Aoife[/name_f] looks. But the sound is meh.
Ok, can somebody PLEASE explain to me why [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] is so popular. I know that I don’t want to start any fights, but when did it like spike?!?
I think it sort of started in a “has the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f], but more feminine than Addison” way. [name_m]Just[/name_m] my theory though.
I want so badly to “know” what names I’m going to use and have a top boy and girl name picked out and ready to stay with me. But once I have a favorite name for awhile it starts to feel tired and I want something new.
[name_m]Five[/name_m] your old me would love having a unique, cool name
A very distant relative has a daughter named [name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] late mum made fun of it when she was born
What if I give my child a name she absolutely hates
I imagine my mum looking at me and my baby from heaven, thinking oh Laurie’s being weird again lol
I worry the same in general I don’t ridiculously care what they think and my mom has always been a very “it’s your child, your decision” person which I’m very great full for but at the same time I don’t wanna choose a name she hates
but it kinda balances out cause once I tell her Kahlo is after her grandma her opinion would probably change on the name
coming in here again to complain about my girls list oh my gosh. i just reorganized my list into a google sheet and the boys’ page was so easy to fill out and looking at it all done was a very “yes this is such a vibe i love all these names” moment. but i’ve just started filling out the girls’ page and it feels like every name has a different style and some names are stale but for some reason i can’t tell which ones are ??? weird
five-year-old Haley wanted to be named Princess Haley so Hallelujah is lovely and generally children that young don’t really care or notice their names are super different in my experience - in my experience, it takes an adult pointing an unusual name out to a child before any children actually take notice.
also my own rant: I love the name Michael. Always have. I want my firstborn son to be Michael. S/O has not yet decided if he can bring himself to use Michael bc he knows too many people named Mike. I just want to know if I can continue to cling or if I should put my eggs in another name basket
Michael / Mike always reminds me of this video, it’s really just a joke of course and I do think it’s totally usable! Maybe your S/O could come up with a different nickname that would keep people from defaulting to Mike (if others want to give him a nickname).
For the nickname [name_f]Addie[/name_f], but in a more feminine way than [name_u]Addison[/name_u]. Also perhaps a newer version of [name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] and [name_f]Madelyn[/name_f].
If necessary you can change your names. It is not always as complicated or expensive as thought.
I forgot about this video Honestly I would just call him Michael at home, and none of the ones he knows go by their full name. He’s still “deciding”
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] it goes your way! I especially love the idea of [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_f]Stephanie[/name_f] as siblings, they give off all the cozy 80s vibes.
Me too!!
