Both this and the boys’ list are fairly typical Nameberry names, and they correspond closely to the non-ranked-choice rankings for this year (linked below) with the main difference being rearrangement of the top names. I included the top 30 for a fuller picture of how much the data changed (answer: not that much).

There are a LOT of ties, possibly because the data collected was less in size. (77 users for girls, 53 users for boys, against the non-ranked-choice version having 97 users for girls and 77 users for boys).

There are a fair number of anomalies [name_f][/name_f]- the ones that jumped out at me are [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m], which feels totally out of left field (it was at no 116 with just 4 mentions back in August) and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], which doesn’t necessarily have an abnormally high number of mentions but has taken a leap in rankings. Logically [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] should not be at no. 6, but many of the people who mentioned it (including me) put it near the top of their lists. [name_m]The[/name_m] total number of points looks like this [name_f][/name_f]-

25 + 24 + 16 + 17 + 22 + 9 + 7 + 10 + 21 + 9 + 21 = 181

And the number of points for [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], which is more loved on Nameberry and has the same number of mentions, but has fallen to no. 20, looks like this [name_f][/name_f]-

And let’s not forget that [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] at no. 1 (and by such a large margin) is also an unexpected choice.

I’m mostly convinced that there will be variation always, because not the same people respond always and the names submitted always change a little too, but it is interesting to see that [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] dropped like we thought she might! [name_f][/name_f] ECSTATIC Daisy’s as high as she is tho, I was super bummed she wasn’t in the top 25 this past summer. [name_f][/name_f] :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:
