Obscurity Corner: Apricity šŸ§£

A Nameberry staple joins us in the corner today! A two-in-one posting day, because I wanted it to be one.

[name_f]Apricity[/name_f] is a melodic name with a Puritan feel and a poetic meaning: ā€œthe warmth of the sun in winter.ā€ Sheā€™s one I discovered on this siteā€”and one I know many of the berries are fans of, too! The name is a word of Latin origin, considered in modern writing to be obsolete. Though, it is no less gleaming or gorgeous today.

Here are my findings:
[name_f]Apricity[/name_f] has been used as a name for 1 calendar year. The earliest documented birth of a baby named [name_f]Apricity[/name_f] was in the year 2022, when 5 baby girls and 0 baby boys were given the name. According to the SSA, only 5 baby girls in the US have ever been named [name_f]Apricity[/name_f]!
[2022] 5

And here are my personal observations:
Well, there isnā€™t much to say. But, I scoured 143 years of data looking to find [name_f]Apricity[/name_f] representationā€¦ and I did find some! I would have thought that such an old-English word name like this one might have at least had sprinkles of popularity earlier. Perhaps as a middle, she might have had a use or two. But, now we know!

[name_f]Apricity[/name_f] has such a warm, cosy feel!
When I first started seeing it around I wasnā€™t really a fan but she has definitely grown on me!

I have never heard of this name before. It sounds like a smoosh of [name_f]April[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], but it is not a bad thing: one could intepret it as ā€œhappiness of aprilā€ / ā€œhappiness born in Aprilā€

[name_f]Apricity[/name_f] is so lovely and spring-y! I much prefer it to [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

I also think (if they werenā€™t so close) sheā€™d make a great sister to [name_f]Affinity[/name_f] !!

[name_f]Apricity[/name_f] is warm & lovely! I will admit I am more of a secret-admirer to her, though.

I like the names Aphelion (another one of my favourites!), [name_u]Meridian[/name_u] [name_f]Vespertine[/name_f], [name_m]Petrichor[/name_m] and [name_u]Alpenglow[/name_u] as siblings for her.
