Celine!! Such a lovely [name_u]French[/name_u] name
Ida is a delight! [name_f]My[/name_f] girlfriend’s alter ego is [name_f]Katie[/name_f] [name_f]Ida[/name_f].
Forsythia
I really think this is the name I would name my daughter were I having a baby.
I love rollicking, multi-syllabic - a ending names for girls, but many are overly popular. I’ve never met a [name_f]Forsythia[/name_f] but would love to.
The yellow-blossomed plant is a harbinger of spring.
The nicknames rock: [name_m]Forsythe[/name_m], [name_f]Flor[/name_f], [name_f]Flo[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Floss[/name_f], [name_f]Flossie[/name_f], [name_f]Florrie[/name_f], Sythia.
I just thought of this now (my boyfriend’s a huge philosophy nerd), but I think Eudemonia/Eudaemonia/Eudaimonia would be a cool middle name (or first if you’re daring!) for a girl! It’s essentially the Greek concept of peak human fulfillment — flourishing!!! thriving!!! — and I love it.
Definitely thought that you started your post with Lies!!!
I do like [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] though!
I know a lot of people love [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]/Sophia/Sofia but are hesitant because of its popularity. I wish more people would look at [name_f]Zosia[/name_f]! There may be varied pronunciations, but I know someone with this name and she pronounces it “zo-shuh”. Isn’t that so lovely?
I loooove [name_f]Zosia[/name_f] and we considered it! Such a funky name.
[name_f]Ziva[/name_f] - It has a very modern and fun sound! It reminds me of a funkier [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f]
[name_f]Thora[/name_f] and [name_f]Theda[/name_f] - Cool alternatives to [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]!
[name_f]Palmira[/name_f] - Not sure why, but this reminds me of the ocean! [name_f]Mira[/name_f] is a great nickname but you could also do the cute [name_f]Polly[/name_f]
[name_m]Just[/name_m] found out that [name_f]Apricity[/name_f] means “warmth of the sun in winter” which should sell you right there. Perfect for a winter baby. Reminds me of apple cider, mittens, and sledding. Feels very fresh and lovely, reminiscent of [name_f]April[/name_f] & [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and could use the nicknames [name_f]Lissy[/name_f], Cici, or [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]
Euphrasie for the quirky-fantasy name lovers!
Having a small obsession recently
I went to school with a girl called Zosie pronounced [name_m]Zo[/name_m]-see and i thought that was super cute
Ottilie - what a strong name for a strong woman ‘prosperous in battle’ I love the ‘tillie’ sound in it and so many possibilites for cute nn - ottie, tillie, [name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
Henrietta - I love [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] and it’s nn [name_f]Hettie[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f], you could even have Rie and [name_f]Hennie[/name_f], so many possibilities. I think it’s gorgeous for a first child as it means ‘ruler of the house’ I really love everything about this name and it suprises me that it’s so rare and so unspoken of. It’s classic and regency era and elegant and lovely.
Someone earlier mentioned [name_f]Odette[/name_f] which again is so beautiful. And [name_f]Tirzah[/name_f] i’ve seen as meaning “she is my delight” Which is just gorgeous also love the spanish [name_f]Tirsa[/name_f].
Mehetabel - “how good is God” i love it’s similarities to [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] and the possibility of the [name_f]Hettie[/name_f] nn. [name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Belle[/name_f].
Edda - means poetry. Think The [name_f]Edda[/name_f] prose. And now [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and [name_f]Etta[/name_f] are popular [name_f]Edda[/name_f] and [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] could be too.
Ceridwen - a welsh mythological enchantress from the Mabinogion. Although the meaning on nameberry is not really accurate.
Penrose - a cornish unisex name that I think is just gorgeous with the [name_u]Penny[/name_u] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] options for nn just stunning.
Annarose - i once met a girl with this created combo and thought it was gorgeous. Still obsessed.
Lilac - in flower meanings it means first love, and with all the L names in fashion right now I don’t know why it’s not as popular at least in the uk where we pronounce it lie-luck
Bronte - meaning thunder, and obviously the bronte sisters association, this is such a strong and gorgeous name for any girl.
Aleidis - a dutch form of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], so beautiful
Adeliza/Adelisa - really love this medieval form of [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Adelheid[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f] just gorgeous. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the options for [name_f]Addie[/name_f] and [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]/Elisa at the same time
there are so many names in conclusion, but I think i’m going to stop myself here
@rosepip [name_m]Just[/name_m] saw an aesthetic edit of the word “Hiraeth” (HERE-eyeth) and thought it might be up your alley as a potential middle. Reminds me of the charm of a lot of your favorites mixed with that -th ending [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] has!
I was just about to suggest [name_f]Ottilie[/name_f] as well!
These are all amazing!
Giselle!
im not sure if im too late, but wow… uve really sold this name to me ! it would actually sound so beautiful in a combination, id love to use it
