There were so many beautiful combos I had to chose three!

‘The Dog Days Are Over’ - [name_u]Florence[/name_u] + The Machine

‘Can’t Take [name_f]My[/name_f] Eyes off You’- [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Valli[/name_f]
[name_m]Elwood[/name_m] [name_u]Ocean[/name_u] - I saw [name_m]Elwood[/name_m] (GP of mine ) and instantly thought of the character from the [name_m]Blues[/name_m] Brothers so I will include one of those songs! This little man gives me very calming, vintage vibes…
‘She Caught The Katy’ - The [name_m]Blues[/name_m] Brothers
‘Pale [name_u]Blue[/name_u] Eyes’ - [name_f]Velvet[/name_f] Underground (you have one of my favourite songs here!)

@Scottie491 I love it! Thank you so so much! This collage is just wonderful
Your 1920s name is nancy millicent.
explanation
Your description made me think bright and energetic but also scholarly and wise. I initially was toying with daisy, ada or sylvia for a first name. But in the end I went with nancy. I imagine a nancy to be able to take on the world with not only knowledge and wit but also a little fun and heaps of enthusiasm. It also made me think of nancy mitford who was a member of ‘the bright young things’ in 1920s [name_u]London[/name_u]. She was a fierce moderate socialist and an author who wrote ‘The Pursuit of Love’ and ‘Love in a Cold Climate.’
I actually had your middle name of millicent picked out before your first. Although millicent wasn’t in the Top 100 names of 1920s, I justified it by taking inspiration from dame millicent fawcett. She was a british suffragist who concentrated her efforts on improving women’s education. She died in 1929 which was still technically the 20s! Your description about being protective of your students and a promoter of justice and equality made me think of her.
@EleanorVintage [name_f]Nancy[/name_f] [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] is absolutely perfect and your description is so inspiring and thoughtful. Thank you so much!
@oceansea I’d love a movie poster with the name [name_f]Dulcinea[/name_f] please. I would be happy to do a bright, busy collage board for any name or combo you’d like in exchange. Thanks!
@OpheliaFlora I’d love a childhood mood board for [name_m]Otis[/name_m] [name_m]Leander[/name_m], but can I please request not to have actual children in it (silhouettes are fine). I’d be thrilled to do a bright, busy collage board for any name or combo you’d like in exchange. Thank you!
if anyone would like, or a name analysis using the popularity data from the US database
an example of my analysis:
name | peak year | current rank | years in top 1000
-|-
lana | 1948 | #390 | 1939-present (81 years)
carole | 1942 | #13668 | 1913-1977 (64 years)
@emilymca - could I please get a song match for Gregory Brian “Greg”?
@eleanorvintage - could I please get a past decades rename for a girl’s name from the 1940s? I’d like to hear what my name would have been as an Elvis fan back in his prime in the 1950s/1960s!
I’m very tall, long blonde hair, and I wear glasses. I love anything pop culture related! I’m a huge cinephile (movie buff) and telephile (movie buff, but make it TV). I’m also a hopeless romantic and a sucker for a good, sappy love story! I’ve always been the type to daydream!
Oh wow I would love a mood board! (I’m not sure if I need to give a name for this mood board but if I do - I would love one for [name_f]Martha[/name_f] Rosemary!)
@leafsgirl44 I couldn’t choose just one name, so I gave you two instead!
Your 1940s names are hilary-judith diane & gillian bridget.
explanation
I’ll start by saying that this was exceedingly difficult! I had so many names that I wanted to give you. For some reason, I pictured a character from ‘Mallory Towers’ by enid blyton when I read your description. I had this image of you lying on your front, reading or writing in a journal, your hair gathered around you like a cloak from when it had fallen into place due to the lengthy time you had been lying there. You could have been carol-ann, georgina, kathleen, muriel, pauline or susan. In the end, I gave you two names because I just couldn’t choose! hilary was my first thought when I read your description. I didn’t want something classic (I did think about catherine) because although I think you would suit a classic name, I wanted to use something that sounded more specifically 1940s. I got a very ernest feel from your description but because you mentioned [name_m]Elvis[/name_m], I wanted something that also sounded surprising. I really wanted to give you a double barrelled name because I think you’d suit one but carol-ann and sally-ann (another possibility) didn’t sound right. Then I saw judith and thought that you could totally pull off a clunky sounding double barrelled name! So I merged the two together and surprisingly, they sounded well together! gillian came about purely because it was a toss up between all three so I thought I’d give you another choice of a name instead of agonising over which one to give you! For your middles, that’s where I wanted the element of surprise to come in. I couldn’t choose between bridget, denise, diane and irene. I thought they sounded quite lively names which is what I wanted. In the end, I felt bridget and diane went better with your first names!
(I didn’t mean it to be such a long explanation) (oops! )
@leafsgirl44 I forgot to ask you for a moodboard for myself if that’s alright?
description
I am half [name_f]English[/name_f] and half Welsh, 5ft tall and very petite. I have blue eyes and fair skin and exposed to the sun, my freckles come out and my baby hairs turn white blonde. I also have very long blonde hair which is a mixture of natural waves, curls and exceedingly tight ringlets. I often wear it down naturally, or I braid it/wear butterly clips or scrunchies. I love to read, write stories, sing and do ballet. I love the victorian era and my favourite decades are the 1910-1930s & 1980s-early 2000s. I also have an eclectic taste in music. I LOVE [name_m]Iron[/name_m] Maiden but I equally love Take That, MyFly, Steps & Spice Girls!
[name_m]Gregory[/name_m] [name_m]Brian[/name_m] “Greg” - [name_m]Brian[/name_m] (secret love of mine) is automatically connected to [name_m]Brian[/name_m] [name_f]May[/name_f], of whom I am a massive fan, so I will have to include a [name_f]Queen[/name_f] song here. That aside I get a strong 80s vibe here - I can imagine little [name_m]Greg[/name_m] jumping around his room listening to the latest pop rock tune on the record player…
‘Hammer To Fall’ - [name_f]Queen[/name_f] (Brian May’s playing here is exquisite and you have got one of my favourite songs here!)
[name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f] is stunning thank you so much! Is there a combo or two you would like to see matched so songs or perhaps a UC reading in return?
@oceansea Could I possibly request another name movie poster for [name_u]Dana[/name_u] Felicity?! I would be more than happy to do another song matching for you or a UC reading!
I’m glad you like it! Nora Colette gives me such Paris vibes - limestones buildings, art museums, vintage flea markets, old cafes, pattering rain … I wanted to create a childhood board that, I feel, would grow up to be this person.
I’d love for you to read my UC, I know some names may be tricky so here’s how I pronounce them: Olalla (o-lye-a), Ofelia (just like Ophelia), Odilon (in English I’d say O-dee-lonn), Auguste (just like August) and Rosalind (roz-a-lind, with the -d sound at the end). I hope this made sense, haha. But don’t worry, I’ll take anything I get.
I hope it’s okay to make a post where all offers are summarised (especially once the thread becomes longer and more cluttered; also feel free to put this in the original post @Scottie491)
All Offers (but please look at the original post before requesting anything; see if it's still up and if there are any more requirements; this just makes it easier to find them)
Absolutely! Sorry, I had typed that on my lunch at work and my brain moved faster than my fingers so I skipped some bits I’ll get on that tonight for you!!
Oh I love this!! Thank you so much! I do love Carol-Ann as well, but I agree, I think Hilary or Gillian would be great for me! Diane, funnily enough, is my aunt’s middle!
absolutely! i’ll get this done for you tonight!
This is wonderful, thank you! How could anyone not love Queen?! and You Make My Dreams Come True is S/O’s favourite song! It’s actually the goal song for our favourite hockey team too!
