@pennysola That’s a shame about [name_f]Persephone[/name_f], it’s such a gorgeous name. You have great taste in names if she’s your favourite, I look forward to seeing what you choose!
I can definitely see how this would add challenges. I’m thankful I don’t have to think of this haha. I’m sure you’ll find names that fit your purposes.
(and hopefully your other half shows a bit more interest eventually).
[name_f]Persephone[/name_f] is one of our top girls names too. I’m sorry you can’t use it; it’s so stunning.
@LiliMorgana Fingers crosses for you this cycle! I think I’m like CD10 maybe? I don’t recall and my phone’s too far away to bother checking lol ![]()
We are in the “just keep trying” stage of my cycle, as it were.
I have a new nephew!! Freshly arrived this morning!

Congrats!!
that’s amazing news!
I’m glad to read you’re feeling this way. I hope it happens for you this month, but having more peace wherever you are in the journey can only be a good thing. Congratulations on the nephew, too.
Yay, Grandma [name_f]Lilian[/name_f]. It’s a great name. Too bad about little Lilje beating you to the name but you could still consider it. [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m] are both stunning, too, but I understand the international bit. I only speak [name_u]French[/name_u] and Japanese with my kids. [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] has always been an absolute favorite of ours but it doesn’t work well in [name_u]French[/name_u] and I’m not sure I can get over it to use it even though we live in an [name_f]English[/name_f] speaking community and are native [name_f]English[/name_f] speakers ourselves.
[name_f]Glad[/name_f] you caught the positive this month at least. I hope it happens.
Somebody needs a BFP this month. Last month was kind of a downer. I’m ready for great news.
Thank you!
He’s so little - only 6lb! Still no name though… being a name enthusiast makes the wait so painful ![]()
Thank you. It’s definitely been better to approach things calmly.
I hope so too, but I admit I haven’t been as focused or committed to trying this cycle. Not that I don’t want to, but I think I just needed to step back a bit for a little while. Who knows… maybe being less pedantic will help.
I’m starting to feel a bit burnt out in general, which isn’t helping my will for TTC. Hubby says we’ll organise a holiday once he finishes study, so I will be cheering him on very intensely to make it happen as soon as possible! ![]()
Yes! I’m ready too! ![]()

They named him C.a.s.p.i.a.n ![]()
Big brother is T.h.e.o.d.o.r.e.
@_thelittlefairywren Oh I love those names together! What a gorgeous sibset!
@LiliMorgana I know, right. Somehow they sound both strong and whimsical together - like storybook characters.
@pennysola [name_f]Persephone[/name_f] and [name_m]Llewellyn[/name_m] are both stunning, I’m sorry you can’t used them
@hyacinthbucket [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] is wonderful too, it always is a bummer when you can’t use something because it doesn’t “work”
@_thelittlefairywren what a gorgeous sibset! Congrats on the new nephew!
What names have you all considered for this future bean?
DH and I have gone back and forth on girl names, we have 3 or 4 front runners [name_f]Annora[/name_f]/ [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f], and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], though I’m not sure if that works with our last name. Middles will be honors, some variant of [name_f]Ann[/name_f], [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] or [name_u]Louise[/name_u].
Boys are alot easier, top boy name is probably [name_m]Roland[/name_m], middle going to be more honor names, either [name_m]Craig[/name_m] or [name_m]Eugene[/name_m].
@_thelittlefairywren, Cute sibset names! I hope you can get your holiday soon. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you know where you’ll go?
@PrincessShannon, [name_m]Roland[/name_m] [name_m]Craig[/name_m] is absolutely swoon-worthy! Seriously dashing. I’ll talk more names later when I have time.
@hyacinthbucket Not really. We can’t really go far at the moment with COVID restrictions, but hopefully some borders start opening and we can go on a decent trip soon(ish). We were discussing the other day about taking a couple of days off to go see the new baby - they only live a hour and a half away, so it could be a nice “mini” holiday. Our Labour [name_u]Day[/name_u] weekend is coming up, so we might do that then.
@PrincessShannon Thank you!
@PrincessShannon A girl will be either [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. A boy will be [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] Hades. He always says he doesn’t care about middle names (even though there’s been compromise as he wants to use Hades as a first name and I just can’t commit to that) so I’m hoping that extends to [name_f]Morgana[/name_f], I know he doesn’t like it as much as I do, but if not we’ll fall back on his suggestion of [name_f]Rose[/name_f], which is pretty, just not my favourite. Coming up with names to go with [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] has been so difficult because apparently I love names that have -el in them, or end in -la, or contain -et and it sounds too repetitive. So here’s hoping [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] sticks!
I really like [name_f]Annora[/name_f] and [name_f]Seraphina[/name_f] from your list!
@_thelittlefairywren Hopefully you can get away somewhere, even briefly. Going to see C would be nice too!
@LiliMorgana, [name_f]Mila[/name_f] [name_f]Elizaveta[/name_f] [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] and [name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Bartholomew[/name_m] Hades are gorgeous! I hope your husband lets [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] stick!
@PrincessShannon and @LiliMorgana, your names under consideration are so lovely. I certainly envy your certainty.
I really don’t know what we will name another child. I spend way too much time thinking about it. For boys, we have a shortlist of about 10 combos (most of which are in my current usercard). For the most part my boys’ names remain really constant over time. I might introduce a new favorite combo here or there but they have been remarkably consistent over years. Many of them have been on our list since before our first boy was born and this would be our third boy. I really do love them and think I’ll have trouble choosing between them but I think it will be a difficulty between 2 or 3 options that feel right during pregnancy.
The girls constantly haunt me. I just can’t seem to ever be consistent with my love for girls’ names, and if I do go for a tried and true love, they definitely feel “basic” to me with the passage of time. I have just recently narrowed things down to a list of 25 combos, and I’m really hoping that either one of those will be right… OR I’ll create a new combo but it will just feel 100% right and I won’t ever waver again. With my first (since we were team green), the name we settled on about halfway through my pregnancy I felt about 98% sure on and that felt amazing. It took me so much deliberation during the first half of pregnancy to get there, though. I look forward to the process but I also just wish I already knew what I wanted.
CD5 here on my final pre-TTC cycle. Getting so excited but also nervous.
In other news, during our usual visit with A’s birth family yesterday they mentioned hoping to take him out for the first time on their own (this is something we have always talked about… we have an open adoption and this type of thing is important to all of us involved) for birth mom’s birthday at the end of [name_f]October[/name_f]. They plan on going to a cider mill and pumpkin patch for a few hours. In my head when they mentioned the timing all I was thinking was, “Excellent, if I can arrange a drop-off playdate for H with our pod people for the same day then hubby and I can have some uninterrupted baby dancing time! What fun!” It will likely line right up with my fertile window but of course no guarantee. Hubby and I haven’t had any no-kid time since our anniversary on Leap [name_u]Day[/name_u] this year a couple weeks before we started quarantine and before A joined our family. Of course we have our stay-at-home date-nights but those of you with kids I’m sure can appreciate the thought of an empty house for a few hours, especially during the day when we both have much more energy than when all is said and done by the end of the day. I’m excited.
Otherwise, for those of you with kids, how hard is it to try consistently during your fertile window? I’m so worried we will be really burnt out, especially if it takes a while. We don’t usually do it regularly as often as we did to conceive during last TTC. [name_f]My[/name_f] partner works nights and usually comes home at 10 or 11, by which time I’m usually asleep. I’m definitely open to staying awake for that time but man we are both so tired at that point and the early morning is no better because my partner (never a morning person to begin with) usually sleeps in to get enough rest before work and the kids wake up early and don’t usually nap until right when he is leaving for work.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you ever confine your kids in one part of the house so you can sneak off to another part when they’re awake? We have never done that before but I know it is a thing people do… we don’t do any screentime yet so I’m not sure it would work as seamlessly as other families but they do play independently and like audiobooks…
@hyacinthbucket TTC when you have kids already is a very different scenario than before you do, that’s for sure. We managed to get through it most days, although some I would have much rather slept (and he was the same). Usually once in the morning or at night, sometimes both, but rarely to be honest. We’re probably just not doing it enough but it’s hard to sneak off when the kids are old enough to come looking for you. We’ve managed that a few times but with massive anxiety. I would say just grab whatever opportunities you have and hope that it’s a short process and you’re pregnant soon. I’m not looking forward to another month of this, largely because there were a few times this month that it felt like such a chore, and who wants that? Hopefully we all get to move on soon so we can not sleep for different reasons like needing to pee or acid reflux
Oh goodness yes. I can’t imagine. Thankfully H can’t yet open the baby gates at the base and top of our stairs (he can open all the others in the house but we have left them up for A). If I stick H downstairs with an activity of some sort and some music or audiobook on and if A is napping with whitenoise things might work during the middle of the day before my husband goes to work…
@hyacinthbucket That sounds like it might work. I hope you can find a system that works for you (better than we have!)
This is just so stunning! What a strong, yet feminine combination! ![]()

@_thelittlefairywren Thanks! I hope I have the opportunity to use it (and he’s okay with it in the end!)
8dpo today (I think?) Am feeling really run down since last night and especially tired. Really, really hope it means something is going on pregnancy-wise and not that I’m getting sick.
How is everyone?
