[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Iona[/name_f] McGrath (23) is one of Jeth’s former co-stars on FunkyKidZ, who subsequently chose to continue artistic pursuits, albeit they’re now working as a concept artist for video games and tabletop RPGs, which compliments their own fanatical playing of D&D quite nicely. Both on-and-off screen, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] was always the most reserved of the cast members - being a naturally shy person who still prefers sticking with the friends they know - but when [name_m]Jeth[/name_m] got back in contact, they were delighted to reconnect and reminisce about the past.

It wasn’t a surprise for them learning [name_m]Jeth[/name_m] was married, given how naturally warm and engaging his personality is, but [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] has jokingly made him promise he won’t try setting them up on any dates. Right now, a relationship isn’t something [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] has any interest in pursuing as their careers hectic and they’re just enjoying spending time with their friends, going out frequently on impromptu trips and mini-adventures. They live with their best friend, another former FunkyKidZ actor who [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] became incredibly close with during the time of filming, and two dogs: [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] the elderly Cocker Spaniel, who’s been Maeve’s pet since they were 13; the other is their roommate’s, a much younger and more excitable pup.

There have been rumours in the grape vine about some sort of reunion project being proposed and while [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] isn’t totally against the idea, they only want to do it if all 4 of their fellows are up for appearing together again (and that’s not taking into account Maeve’s much more camera shy now). Aside from their artistry and spending time relaxing with [name_f]Hattie[/name_f] by their side, caving is something they’ve become increasingly interested in, having been introduced to it by their older brother and his boyfriend. For [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], it’s important finding beauty in the most unusual of places, and they’ve invited [name_m]Jeth[/name_m] and [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] to accompany them and their usual group if the couple are interested.

Euna Jang (23) is a fellow FunkyKidZ co-star with Maeve and Jeth, rocking magenta as her colour on the show. Euna is a voice actress for an animated series. She’s the daughter of Jun Jang but they’re not as close as they used to be due to her father constantly being in South Korea for movies, moving back to America, then moving away to permanently live in South Korea. She wishes she had more time to spend with her father but understood that he’s been very busy with his life. She can’t help but be closer to her mother, who is not currently together with her father anymore as they split long ago. She’s trying not to think of Jun as the hacker in the mystery but her knowledge isn’t any better than anyone else’s. But why would he specifically target Elsie? He still is the weakest link.

She lives with Maeve as roommates and close friends and she too would be willing to be in a FunkyKidZ reunion as well. Deep down, she’s falling for one of her former co-stars but she never told him out of her own nervousness. And he was falling for her too at the time. Unfortunately for Euna, that ship has sailed since he’s long fallen out of love with her and he’s announced online he has a new girlfriend. Euna is miffed that if they were to reunite, she’d have to see the one that got away, even if he didn’t realise he was. But there’s a silver lining: he still wants to be best friends with her and he has a brother who is more her type and is falling for her.

This stems mostly from childhood, as Eve’s parents had an incredibly combative relationship - dominated by arguments over the phone - in spite of having divorced when she was 3 and her younger brother, who uses they/he pronouns [having announced this about a year ago after confiding in [name_f]Eve[/name_f] about questioning their gender identity], was only six months old. While the young girl had hoped being apart would allow for their resentment to cool, it did little to help how years of financial stress and arguments regarding parenting styles had embittered them drastically. She knows her mother especially has a lot of guilt over this now, having removed herself from concentrating so much energy into fighting with her ex, and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] remains complex in how she feels; appreciating the efforts she’s gone to make amends, but still struggling with all the discord she witnessed, as well as how it often fell to her to protect her brother from being too exposed to the adult conversations loudly going on no matter whose house they were staying at.

Having been an enthusiastic amateur face painter throughout childhood - her brother proudly wearing most of the creations she invented - [name_f]Eve[/name_f] now works as a make up artist in the avant-garde side of fashion and commercials; specialising in bold, unusual visuals. She’s also done some work in film, specifically set design and custom murals, which is how she met her boyfriend, who continued on as an actor following a brief retirement to complete school and figure out if it was really for him. Given how much she took to him, it concerned [name_f]Eve[/name_f] knowing her own hangups and baggage, as several of her prior relationships ended when she opened up about her childhood - with the typical reaction being that the person in question couldn’t handle her past. [name_f]Eve[/name_f] can’t stand being dishonest- after a childhood spent covering for her parents, as she was terrified at any thought of going into care and losing her brother - but when she told him she was greatly relieved and endeared by how he was honest about the shock yet didn’t end things, instead learning more about her and listening opposed to dismissing her.

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] tends to be quite a solitary person outside of her work, having a close friend group but its small thanks to how she’s naturally shy and prefers her own company. She and her brother are both talented cooks who frequently spend time together sharing recipes and trying to one up each other - they’re better with pastry, while [name_f]Eve[/name_f] knows how to handle spices - and they’ve even hosted amateur contests to amuse themselves. The two still live together, [name_f]Eve[/name_f] wanting to support them while they’re attending college [having gotten in on a scholarship], although they’re always conscientious about the fact their sister enjoys space to listen to podcasts or write poems; contrasting with the fact they’re quite a social butterfly - not that [name_f]Eve[/name_f] takes any issue. She and her boyfriend have opted for taking things slowly instead of rushing, but he stays over frequently - especially when between sets - and to her own surprise, [name_f]Eve[/name_f] doesn’t feel stifled by this, which she had worried about due to not having many serious relationships. Having been invited to accompany him to the reunion intimidates [name_f]Eve[/name_f] a bit, but she wants to support him more than anything, even if it means his brother accompanying them so she has someone to talk to if feeling especially anxious.

[name_u]Kieran[/name_u] “Kier” [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] McAllway (24) is Eve’s boyfriend and a fellow former star of FunkyKidZ, who also was once a possible romantic interest of [name_f]Euna[/name_f]. Unlike some of the other cast members, [name_m]Kier[/name_m] got on the show mostly by chance. His mom saw an advertisement and, given her son was popular and had recently performed a leading role in his school play, decided to take him along just for the experience. [name_m]Kier[/name_m] wasn’t expecting to get a contract as he came from a single parent household and had no credits to his name, but his sense of humour and rakish charm convinced the casting agents and producers that he was just what they were looking for. This would ignite Kier’s life long passion for acting and desire to keep pursuing a career in it, unlike some of his fellows. He and [name_f]Euna[/name_f] bonded because of how they usually were paired together - his exuberance made for a nice contrast with her approachability, according to the producers of the show - and it led to mutual infatuation, an on-off feeling that persisted well into when the show concluded.

Following this, [name_m]Kier[/name_m] went back to a much more average life, albeit with plans on getting back into acting once he graduated from high school. This was mostly for his mom, who worried a lot about her son following the tragic path of many child stars, and who also was concerned about the stability of the industry. [name_m]Kier[/name_m] and his brother’s dad died in an accident while working as a long haul truck driver when he was 3 and his brother was only 1. Their parents both came from dysfunctional, unpleasant family backgrounds and so there was little support, aside from family friends; but they were likewise strapped for cash and time. [name_m]Kier[/name_m] and his brother were usually babysat by their mom’s best friend while she worked long hours as a cashier, on top of what small benefits she was entitled to. Really his time on the show helped keep their finances healthy, but his mom refused to treat her son as source of income and prioritised his happiness above all else; something he loves her dearly for and has repaid by buying her a house now his film career is reliable and fruitful. Most people at his schools knew he was once on TV but given his natural confidence and charisma, it never phased [name_m]Kier[/name_m] too much: instead he took it in his stride and spoke positively not just about his experience, but also his relationships with his castmates, who he came to consider genuine friends. Kier’s younger brother would often accompany him to set and he did meet his co-stars a few times, including [name_f]Euna[/name_f]. However he was the shy one of the duo - not exactly hard given [name_m]Kier[/name_m] can talk to just about anyone - he never felt confident approaching any of the cast without his big brother present.

In the period of having feelings for [name_f]Euna[/name_f], [name_m]Kier[/name_m] unfortunately ended up sidetracked by the process of reigniting his career. After starring in a few indie projects to get back into things, he found success in a found footage horror film Cut Lens, which was directed by a friend he’d known since middle school, and they joked a lot about using his ‘old status’ to endorse the film. [name_m]Kier[/name_m] ended up dating one of his co-stars from this project for a few months, and so his communications with [name_f]Euna[/name_f] remained strictly platonic. Although they broke up, the pair are still friends, helped by their director who’s an almost superhumanly good mediator. It was on her second horror production - The Top [name_f]Floor[/name_f] - that [name_m]Kier[/name_m] met [name_f]Eve[/name_f] though, and he was a little shocked by how quickly he fell for her. Something about her just clicked with him…and secretly he admits she’s ‘The One’ to himself based on how deep of a connection they’ve formed.

The reunion is something Kier’s very eager to see happen: not because he expects a great fanfair, but as he just wants everyone back together again. He has admitted to his mom and best friend that he feels guilt for disappearing into his career, and subsequently only maintaining much contact with [name_f]Euna[/name_f]. [name_m]Kier[/name_m] got along with everyone, but does sometimes worry he seemed like he played favourites, based on his very close bonds with [name_f]Euna[/name_f] and one other cast member. On the more optimistic side, he’s very pleased [name_f]Eve[/name_f] will be accompanying him, as for how flighty he sometimes seems, [name_m]Kier[/name_m] just wants to show his friends how important she is to him. His brother accompanying them is also for the ‘sake of tradition’ as he calls it, given the now 22-year-old frequented set all the time when [name_m]Kier[/name_m], [name_f]Euna[/name_f] and the others were in starring roles. Honestly, they’d have had their mom come too if they didn’t know she’d rather be spending some time relaxing - not that either boy’s going to complain - as she was very popular among the kids on set thanks to how much kind warmth she projected; traits [name_m]Kier[/name_m] wishes he had a bit more of alongside his wild energy and fairly erratic charisma.

[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] wishes he was in FunkyKidZ but was more reserved and wasn’t the personality the show wanted. He still hopes [name_m]Kier[/name_m] and the other cast members have a great reunion. [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] loves drawing cartoons and likes drawing funny little animals best. This was a trait he had from his late father, who drew cartoons for fun every once in a while, and [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] saved his father’s drawings in a special scrapbook. He’s not as outgoing as his brother and was even bullied a lot by a classmate when he was in middle and high school. [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] simply tried to ignore and avoid the bully but didn’t feel comfortable or safe. He’s gotten strength and support thanks to his mother’s best friend and by [name_m]Kier[/name_m] himself and [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] has moved on. Unfortunately his former school bully never learned and is currently in prison after carjacking and assaulting the car’s original owner.

[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] supports [name_m]Kier[/name_m] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] together despite the awkwardness with Euna‘s unrequited crush that she didn’t make a move on. [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] knew from [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] that someone liked [name_m]Kier[/name_m] before he fell for [name_f]Eve[/name_f], but [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] doesn’t know it was [name_f]Euna[/name_f] who was once falling for [name_m]Kier[/name_m]. Ultimately [name_m]Kier[/name_m] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] are true love and right for each other and [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] knows sometimes true love doesn’t have to be like the romantic stories in fairy tales to be true love. He doesn’t discuss this much with his brother because although it’s a nice and honest statement, [name_m]Kier[/name_m] knows it’s because [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] likes [name_f]Euna[/name_f]. Nathan’s been accompanying [name_m]Kier[/name_m] lately and has seen [name_f]Euna[/name_f] more but is afraid to make a move and has no idea about what she felt of [name_m]Kier[/name_m]. The final FunkyKidZ cast member and the friendly co-star ex of [name_m]Kier[/name_m] both sorta knew of Euna’s former crush on [name_m]Kier[/name_m] but haven’t told [name_m]Nathan[/name_m]. Still, he and [name_f]Euna[/name_f] are each other’s type yet he doesn’t want to make a move now…but he’s trying to find the right time to make one before [name_f]Euna[/name_f] becomes “the one that got away”.

[name_f]Elle[/name_f] is really good at realism but not as good at cartoons which [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] helps her with. She’s bisexual and she secretly has a crush on [name_m]Nathan[/name_m], but she will never act on her feelings, she’s too shy.

[name_f]Bria[/name_f] wears contact lenses while [name_f]Elle[/name_f] does not and [name_f]Bria[/name_f] has very bad eyesight and is never without them. [name_f]Bria[/name_f] is also bisexual and is crushing on the last FunkyKidZ star. She’s a fan of old nostalgic movies and watches one every [name_f]Wednesday[/name_f] and [name_m]Friday[/name_m] night for fun. [name_f]Bria[/name_f] was in Cut Lens but only as an extra and she’s excited to be in more movies but is somewhat nervous and doubtful of her acting skills. [name_f]Bria[/name_f] is mutual friends with Kier’s Cut Lens co-star and ex-turned-friend. [name_f]Bria[/name_f] is currently a costume designer for films and sometimes attends art classes with her sister.

[name_f]Safiya[/name_f] ‘Saffy’ Oseye Ngoma (middle, 15) and Nizam ‘Niz’ Mosegi Ngoma (to the right on the end, 17) are siblings who also attend the art class at the community college, [name_f]Mayberry[/name_f] college. For Niz, the class was an essential part of his life as he is looking to get into an art school in [name_u]London[/name_u] but his application was declined because he didn’t have enough variety in his art work so he decided to take a cartoon class, his weakest area. Saffy isn’t sure what she wants to do, she is really good at makeup and loves science, she has already created a few of her own products and sometimes she envisions her own beauty line: Ngoma Cosmetics. She often discovers that her favourite ranges don’t have foundation dark enough for her skin which is really limiting and her makeup line would specialise in makeup for her African women like herself who often find themselves limited by finding a shade for their skin. Niz and Saffy are pictured with their Mum (in between Niz and Saffy) their Mum’s elder sister (Next to saffy) and her mum’s younger sister (Towards the left on the end) Saffy is really close with her Mom whereas Niz isn’t because he spends more time with their Dad then their Mom because their parents are divorced and when they divorced each child went to live with different parents until their Dad moved away last year and Niz moved in with his Mum, sister and two aunts.

He’s the last former FunkyKidZ cast member and he’s excited more than ever about a potential reunion. He’s more subdued in how he dresses but he is still a fan of the wild craze and has a lot of inside jokes with his family, friends, and the other cast members. He’s very close with his culture and is proud of it and believes there’s so many beautiful colours and skin pigments within the [name_m]Black[/name_m] community and believes they should all be embraced no matter where on the spectrum. [name_u]Aza[/name_u] currently works in a brewery and knows he and [name_f]Bria[/name_f] are closer than before but doesn’t know [name_f]Bria[/name_f] likes him yet. [name_u]Aza[/name_u] is very empowering and adores what his cousins dream of doing.

[name_f]Malika[/name_f] ‘Mal’ Isabis Ngoma (20) is Aza’s little sister and the middle child. She is really close with her cousin Niz which people think is kinda weird because he’s bold and cocky whereas [name_u]Mal[/name_u] is more shy and quiet but actually they both have quite a similar personality, deadpan and sarcastic. [name_u]Mal[/name_u] loves his fashion sense but is intimidated by his sister who is loud and bouncy and not considerate of people’s feelings and she has never been as close with Saffy as [name_u]Aza[/name_u]. [name_u]Mal[/name_u] is good at writing and she spends a lot of time observing people.

[name_m]Bilal[/name_m] ‘ [name_u]Billie[/name_u] ‘ [name_u]Idris[/name_u] Ngoma (18) is the youngest of his siblings and is best friends with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] Navarrete’s younger brother. He and they are fans of cooking and the two binge-watch cooking shows together. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is fully supportive of his friend’s they/he pronouns and his friend supports [name_m]Bilal[/name_m] being pansexual, although they’re strictly just friends. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is also close with his cousins Niz and Saffy since they moved to be with their aunts as well. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] doesn’t live with his mother or aunts and is currently in university but he’s staying in close proximity, being in the nearby university which he dreamed of since childhood. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is one to stay true to everything he dreamed of and everything special that’s happened for him in his life. After university, [name_u]Billie[/name_u] plans to go to medical school and eventually become a doctor working at the very same hospital he was born. He’s always wanted a career as a doctor one day but for now, he’s chilling through life and making memories. On his 18th birthday, he skydived and yes, this too was something he dreamed about.

[name_f]Vera[/name_f] Kuniko Wu (18) is a friendly acquaintance of Billie’s, who he met through their mutual friend, [name_f]Eve[/name_f] Navarrete’s younger brother. The two met attending the same middle school and bonded over a mutual love of swimming, both eventually joining the junior team. They were separated at high school though, as Vera’s mother managed to secure her a spot at a Catholic academy, and she agreed to attend because of how much religion means to her, in spite of being agnostic herself. She’s quite defensive when it comes to this facet of her family, as several people have assumed her mother is a [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] White esq. figure, something [name_f]Vera[/name_f] will never allow to be said about her loving, supportive mom.

Growing up in a multicultural household, Vera’s mixed race: her dad’s Taiwanese-American and her mom’s white, following Buddhism and Catholicism respectively, with their children being given an option to engage in either practice if they wanted to. Vera’s the youngest and there’s quite an age gap - her brother’s 29 and her sister’s 25; stemming from the fact their dad decided to focus on gaining his doctorate following the birth of her sister, and this put her parents on hold about having another baby, not that anyone exactly complained when [name_f]Vera[/name_f] came along.

She was never phased about her siblings’ being closer on account of the age gap, as Vera’s always been socially inclined, and actually enjoyed the freedoms of not having anyone comparing her to her brother or sister in school, developing her love of history and [name_f]English[/name_f] literature without feeling overshadowed by her brothers’ acting talents or her sister’s drive to become a doctor. Her brother is actually working with the director of Cut Lens right now, leading to more closeness between the Wu’s and Navarrete’s; as Vera’s parents often acted as a sounding board whenever her friend or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] found their parents animosity exhaustive.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] Hanfei Wu (25) is the older sister of [name_f]Vera[/name_f], and studying to become a doctor at [name_f]Columbia[/name_f] University. She enjoys school and knows that being a doctor is her passion- in fact, she has for almost her entire life. A type-a personality to a T, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is a very determined and headstrong person. Some see her as overbearing due to her perfectionistic nature, but those close to her just see it as a part of her. [name_u]Ever[/name_u] since she was in elementary school, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] has gotten fed up with anyone who’s not as driven or effective as her- which somewhat impacted her social life. Everyone in school saw her as a rude bully who wouldn’t stop until she got her way, or worse- an annoying spoiled brat. Really, this couldn’t be father from the truth- [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] has a condition called OCD, which causes her to act irrational at times.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] always felt nobody truly got her- until she met her best friend (who uses she/they pronouns) on the first day of eighth grade on the debate team. The two have been inseparable ever since that day- the duo was very unpopular all through high school but that didn’t matter to either of them. They had each other, and that was what mattered. This friend is now studying abroad and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] misses them terribly as the girl was like a sister to her (while [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is close to [name_f]Vera[/name_f] now, [name_f]Vera[/name_f] was so much younger than [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] and she never felt like she could bond with her because of this barrier), but the two FaceTime every [name_m]Saturday[/name_m] night to catch up. Maeve’s actually planning a flight to see her friend in [name_u]January[/name_u], but it’s a surprise, so she hasn’t told her yet.

[name_f]Columbia[/name_f] University is quite far from Maeve’s hometown and she misses it terribly, but luckily she has her boyfriend to keep her company- her boyfriend is another bright young scholar studying to become a doctor. The two met in the hallways when he bumped into her and knocked all her books over- he profusely apologized to her, but she yelled at him for five minutes straight because he made her late to class. He jokes now that that was the moment he knew he was in love with her, and that he never wanted her to stop yelling at him. She apologized the next day and the two became friends, and soon more than that- they realized they had so much in common, including being of mixed-race backgrounds, studying to become doctors, and being intense perfectionists.

A year ago, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] was diagnosed with mild OCD, which made sense to her- she’d often read over her essays dozens of times, constantly looking for typos, clean her room constantly and experience anxiety attacks when things went terribly wrong. Luckily, she’s on medication to help with this and is seeing a therapist. She’s also got a big, lovable orange cat named Xiaomiao, which means “small cat” in Chinese. Maeve’s really close with both sides of her family and her history, taking great pride in it. As for her religion, she follows different aspects of Catholicism and Buddhism and sort of mixes both together, saying “it works for her.” However, she respects and honors Vera’s choice in beliefs and loves her family no matter what they believe.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] also knows she’ll support her future child no matter what they believe- that’s right, she’s expecting a baby, who’s due in [name_u]June[/name_u] 2023. Her and her boyfriend were ecstatic when they found out and are so excited to meet their child- they’re choosing not to find out the gender until the birth. She knows her middle school best friend is going to be the godmother, and is very excited to welcome her child into the world.

Kirstina Else Fiske (48) is Maeve’s therapist. She was born in Stavanger, Norway and has a younger brother a decade her junior, Sven Fiske. Despite her career, she’s not very open about her own personal life but it hasn’t changed her relationship with her brother. Kirstina is especially not open with stating her religion but she’s not judgemental of other people‘s beliefs. In fact, seeing Maeve improve with her life and being happy with her boyfriend is something Maeve greatly admires. She’s head-over-heels whenever she sees others happy and she is motivated by happiness. Kirstina’s biggest motivation is her best friend Eve, who was born in Italy before emigrating as a teenager with her parents. While Kirstina isn’t one to discuss religion, she is a godmother herself, being to godmother to Eve’s granddaughter Teddi. Kirstina is also a therapist to Maeve’s boyfriend, who consulted her given his perfectionism and stress with grades and worrying about future success in life. She is quite fun and often starts conversations off asking how people’s days are or what they enjoy and this is how she knows Maeve’s boyfriend loves long walks and the smell of nature, just like she does. The best part about Kirstina is her ways of never judging, seeing that she always liked to accept people and enjoyed taking in the beauty of humanity. Despite her kind and mellow nature, she loves horror and Maeve is “quietly and indirectly” convincing Kirstina to look into Cut Lens without making it obvious she’s asking her.

Rudy Solomon Edelsberg (17) is another one of Kirstina’s patients, and on a surface level, his presence confuses some people associated with her. The younger son of a successful hotelier, Rudy’s family are very prestigious where they live - being known for their composure, charitable work and lack of snobbery when it comes to wealth - but this didn’t prevent their second youngest experiencing crippling anxiety from the age of 12. There was no inciting incident for this development, but Rudy has acknowledged to Kirstina [and now his mother], that he does feel a personal pressure to succeed, given how his dad worked from a non-existent status to become so revered. He has two older sisters’ - one of whom is obviously going to take over the family business thanks to her natural talent for organising; the other is currently working as a screenwriter for indie horror - and a brother who’s in management at a local animal charity, who he frequently compares himself to in particular. Rudy always idolised his brother - who defended him from bullies, who picked on the young boy for his love of gymnastics - and has never resented him, in spite of the ease of this happening due to his uncertainty when he looks at their paths in life.

While he’s still very much an athletic person, Rudy never dreamed of the Olympics or competing professionally as a gymnast: it’s strictly a hobby that he uses to practice self-discipline and get a break from studies. He’s planning on majoring in history at college, although Rudy definitely doesn’t want to become a teacher, something that is a bit distressing as he knows the subject tends to lead to that path thanks to job limitations [and he refuses to rely on family status for handouts, even if some of his friends insist he should go for it]. Rudy and his girlfriend, Junko " June " Kobayashi got together following a difficult period in her life, plagued by infidelities [her boyfriend and father to be exact], and the young man admits he worries a lot about her, more than most people know. She’s confided in him a lot about the circumstances of her parents divorce and the emotional strain of all the betrayal, which has led to him striving for good communication between them as a couple, as he doesn’t want her going through anything similar. Rudy is a lot more sensitive and emotionally in tune than he both lets on or admits, something Kirstina has become increasingly aware of through their sessions, and she does her best to spare him from burnout, which is an understandable concern given his tendency to bottle things.

The main family member Rudy confides in is undeniably his mom - but that’s true for all 4 of the children. Working as the main accountant for the hotel business, she’s a very warm, gentle and compassionate person, whose children inherited her thoughtfulness in their own variety of ways. It’s not that their dad isn’t loving or openly affectionate, he’s just someone always tied up in work, a regret now he’s older due to the time it took away from enjoying family life with his loved one’s. Rudy and his dad do have a shared love of hiking, which they’re both avid about, and he encourages his youngest child’s interest in travel, with Rudy having plans on taking a gap year to go abroad following graduation. When he isn’t with friends or going on kitsch, impromptu dates with June, Rudy can be found doing some minor humorous video editing [he does have a semi-secret YouTube channel for this] or doting upon his mom’s beloved Persian cats: Rascal and Snow. The final sibling of Rudy’s - his younger sister - is someone who tends to enjoy bothering him, always having questions about high school and dating which she plagues him with at every turn [much to his embarrassment]. He respects her independence though - which she’s very grateful for - and does his best to offer her advice when she’s looking for it, as he suspects she sometimes feels a little more lost than him, given her status as baby of the family.

[name_f]Summer[/name_f] [name_f]Ada[/name_f] Edelsberg (52) is Rudy’s mother and main confidant. She is also the mother of the other Edelsberg children of the family. She’s the hotel’s main accountant and dedicated herself on making guests happy with the most of their vacation. She doesn’t like to be flashy in taking credit for stuff, not even in her pleasant nature, which she credits Rascal and [name_u]Snow[/name_u] for being the true rocks behind everything. She’s convinced her husband to not let work overtake his passions or his family life and she’s happily married to him.

[name_f]Summer[/name_f] is a supporter of success but she hates the idea of her children being pressured into it. When she’s proud of them, she’s truly proud, not just “satisfied” like some strict parents tend to be, and her pride in her children achieving is something that lights up her whole world. She’s very close with her husband too and could never imagine cheating on him or him cheating on her so she feels for [name_f]Junko[/name_f]. Summer’s parents are happily married to this day but [name_f]Summer[/name_f] recently learned her father had an unfaithful moment cheating on her mother. It was one unfaithful moment over 50 years ago before the two were even married, but it happened when he flirted with two woman at his bachelor party, the night before his wedding. There’s belief he may have been drunk at the time and he had never cheated since but it feels wrong with [name_f]Summer[/name_f] knowing that, especially since her parents are still happily married today, with her mother having no knowledge of the incident. Summer’s eldest child had caught onto this and [name_f]Summer[/name_f] questions what the best option is. Tell her mother her husband cheated on her long ago or stay quiet for the sake of keeping her parents’ marriage happy? [name_u]Or[/name_u] confront her father first and ask why he hasn’t come forward all these years? [name_f]Summer[/name_f] had always been a vigilant person and would have done something in that moment if she was there, but the incident happened before she was born. She’s a person who wants answers but also she still remains a kind and calming person who never wants to make things worse.

[name_m]Brandt[/name_m] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] Edelsberg (20) is [name_f]Summer[/name_f] and her husband’s first son and the second oldest. Being only two years older than the eldest sister and a few years younger than his other two sisters and [name_u]Rudy[/name_u], he’s always gotten along well with them. [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] is more carefree than his eldest sister and could never dream of running a whole company. He applauds her and their father for deciding to take that on though. Despite appearing like he doesn’t care about things, he really does. He hates any kind of injustice which is why he always defended [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] when he was getting bullied. Brandt’s family means a lot to him and he loves them all, frequently coming to the house to check in with his parents and little brother and sister.

During high school [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] was able to get some college credits which contributed, as did the accelerated path he took, to getting his bachelor’s degree in business in two years. With a focus in non-profit management, [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] decided to work at the animal charity he loved as a kid. He convinced his parents to start donating to them when he was six. After moving into a modest two story house earlier this year, [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] adopted two three year old cats of unknown breed and the most adorable five year old mutt. Chessy, [name_m]Colonel[/name_m], and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] are now an established part of his life and he loves them almost as much as his family. The dog’s name [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] was decided by his youngest sister and he thinks it fits perfectly.

[name_m]Brandt[/name_m] has been dating his girlfriend since their senior year of high school. They’re still going strong and [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] is very much in love. He’s not afraid to tell anyone either and hopes that she’s the one he’ll end up marrying. [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] will never understand men who don’t respect women as it isn’t how he was raised. His dad told him how to treat women well but what really stuck with [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] is how his dad showed it. [name_m]Even[/name_m] with his busy and hectic life he respected the women he worked with, treated his wife wonderfully, and loved his daughters. [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] saw the good relationship his parents had and wants to have what they have eventually.

Although not a big fan of hiking or traveling, [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] is still close to his brother and they find plenty of things to do together. Whether that be going for a walk, hanging out at the beach, or whatever they think up. His youngest sister loves dressing up for galas and parties and things so [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] ends up taking her to the animal charity’s biannual ball. The two of them have a lot of fun, especially when there’s animal related dress codes. [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] is happy that his family has welcomed his girlfriend. She’s become good friends with his sisters and he’s glad.

[name_u]Penn[/name_u] [name_m]Armin[/name_m] Edelsberg (52) is the father of [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] and the family, who has a great sense of running the hotel but hates the term “patriarch” to describe himself. [name_u]Penn[/name_u] often gets mistaken for older than he is due to his albinism despite actually being the same age as his wife [name_f]Summer[/name_f]. He’s known to be the busiest of the family but will do anything to make time for them, with the help of one of his daughters, who plans to inherit when he retires. [name_u]Penn[/name_u] is very supportive of Brandt’s girlfriend and is flattered [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] compares their relationship to the loving relationship of he and [name_f]Summer[/name_f]. He and [name_f]Summer[/name_f] always go together at the biannual charity ball and [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] has taken his girlfriend there before and plans to continue. Penn’s been particularly busy this month due to some hotel fix-ups — well rather, a bit more landscaping, to emphasise the beautiful nature the vacation spot has to offer. Next month, he’s planning more time with his family, which everyone’s excited about. He’s definitely grateful for [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] stepping up by being there for him as well and finds [name_m]Brandt[/name_m] the most mutual of his family members, but loves them all the same and wouldn’t have them any other way. [name_u]Penn[/name_u] isn’t always obsessed with his hotel as people perceive him and he thanks [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] especially for this. He loves hiking with [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] and just enjoying nature. [name_u]Penn[/name_u] hates when people leave trash on the trail and he and [name_u]Rudy[/name_u] clean it up sometimes to stop the litter. [name_u]Penn[/name_u] also despises it when people take stuff away from nature, in his eyes, on a trail one must only be taking and leaving footsteps.
