He is very fun and has an innocent way of life with lots of goofiness in its path. The twins love him and find him hilarious. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] and [name_m]Keaton[/name_m] always play sports together. He is friends with [name_u]Kirby[/name_u] [name_f]Sommers[/name_f], who he feels like an older brother to and the two relate being the only son of their bio siblings. He is in the same school with twin brothers [name_m]George[/name_m] and [name_m]Wally[/name_m] Retallick, going in the same class with the latter, and they love to have a fun time with shenanigans. [name_m]Keaton[/name_m] loves their teaching assistant [name_f]Eileen[/name_f] and doesn’t mind the teacher but finds her kind of…stinky, which he laughs about. His family has told him it’s not polite to call people “stinky” but he insisted to them that she is, so they tell him to instead say she “smells like a gardenia”. He is only 5 and doesn’t know what a gardenia is so he doesn’t know it’s a sweet-smelling flower. He doesn’t have anyone he hates but sometimes he has no filter and says bad names to them, not knowing any better that he is insulting them and it is rude. He has a “puppy love” for one of the girls in his class but acts like he dislikes her and calls her “icky” behind her back to the boys. His family, tells him it’s rude that he’s calling her “icky” and instead tells him to say she is “the bee’s knees”. He doesn’t understand idioms and uses it on her, but it has backfired on him because now his teacher knows what it means and now definitely knows he likes her.

A sensitive, shy child, [name_f]Bella[/name_f] is utterly oblivious to how he feels about her but this might be for the best as such interest would terrify her. She hates being the centre of attention, finding it completely overwhelming, and has had a good hand ensuring it doesn’t happen in the forms of her two older brothers - both headstrong and bold. Bella’s much more content drawing or reading by herself, sometimes accompanied by her best friend, the only person she really opens up around and shares her great imagination with. More than anything, Bella’s happiest lost in fantasy worlds, musing about mermaids and fairies, which is arguably influenced by the fact her dad’s a respected graphic novelist who’s written books for each of his children and also his wife. Creativities a trait shared throughout the family, with the exception of her mother who’s a financial lawyer and her dad tends to joke any common sense the children will inherit comes from their maternal genes. No doubt, [name_u]Keaton[/name_u] also considers [name_f]Bella[/name_f] a bit of a crybaby on account of how sensitive she is, but this is accompanied by a lot of affection, loyalty and caring for those she’s close to - hating to see anyone she cares about unhappy.

[name_m]Bruce[/name_m] [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] Pitchner (17) one of Bella’s older brothers. He loves his family and supports [name_f]Bella[/name_f] and her best friend and loves her innocence. He is the maternal cousin of [name_u]Jojo[/name_u] DuPoint, making him Corinna’s grandson. [name_u]Jojo[/name_u] and her siblings often hang out with him and his siblings to escape the drama of their father’s alcoholism and mother’s financial crisis. He goes to the same school as [name_u]Jojo[/name_u] but doesn’t know about the Aria-Riley-Cayde feud and keeps out of it, supporting Jojo’s stance as a friend to both. He was friends with [name_m]Cayde[/name_m] at one point but the friendship faded when [name_m]Cayde[/name_m] was always too busy. He always assumed it was because of Cayde’s male modeling and knew about [name_u]Aria[/name_u] and [name_m]Cayde[/name_m] but like anyone not named [name_u]Aria[/name_u] or [name_m]Cayde[/name_m], he has no idea about the secret pregnancy, which [name_u]Aria[/name_u] has only ever told [name_m]Cayde[/name_m]. Still, he thinks [name_m]Cayde[/name_m] is just going through some stress balancing school and modeling and knows he isn’t a bad person and will be ready to hang out with him when he is.

[name_m]Bruce[/name_m] loves that [name_f]Bella[/name_f] isn’t trying to get attention because he has been wrapped up in so much drama he’s trying to avoid and while he’s not a fantasy type person, deep down he’d rather talk about that than his aunt and uncle or about [name_m]Cayde[/name_m]. He doesn’t tell [name_f]Bella[/name_f] about the drama because he hates seeing her get so upset and doesn’t need her into it. [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] loves how his parents are great people and always do what’s right instead of being dysfunctional and he wants to have children when he is older. He and his dad get along very well and he admires his father living his dream job as a graphic novelist. [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] is an action movie and superhero movie fan. He is president of his high school club “Tech Ninjas” who do all the tech work for the school’s performing arts centre. He wants to be a movie technician when he is older.

Isembard ’ Bard ’ Hayes Pitchner (12) is the middle child - younger brother of Bruce and older brother of Bella. A contradiction, Bard’s a fairly introverted kid who prefers keeping to himself, but where Bella loves fantastical worlds and fairytales, Bard’s mad about history itself: this is where his confidence comes out, and he can absolutely talk for hours about the subject. In particular he’s become interested in researching his maternal routes in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and now geography has started to intrigue him too given the infamous river. When he was younger, Bard wanted nothing more than to emulate Bruce - who he considers the embodiment of coolness and maturity, wishing he could easily befriend others like the older boy can, but he’s quite awkward, especially around new people in spite of how he throws himself into things.

Thankfully, Bard’s known his best friend since they were toddlers and they live only a 10 minute walk apart, constantly visiting each other or hanging out in the gardens if they want some time away from their younger siblings. While he loves Bella, being the middle child means he can feel a bit overlooked in comparison to her - especially given how adorable she is - and Bard fears being cruel to her because of this. It’s their mom who’s always a listening ear to him and provides him good advice, although her curious streak might have set off some latent detective tendencies in him, as Bard suspects Bruce has a crush on his best friend’s older sister and is now wondering if matchmaking might be an unlocked talent of his.

He and [name_m]Bard[/name_m] love talking about geography and he is mutually interested in Bard’s culture as well. Rami’s older sister is the President of the Textiles Club but thinks Vice President [name_u]Riley[/name_u] is better as President because she is very amazing and hardworking at the skill and is a star at the school for it. While his sister is mostly in support of [name_u]Riley[/name_u] concerning the drama, she doesn’t know [name_u]Aria[/name_u] and doesn’t really judge. [name_m]Rami[/name_m] sometimes wonders if [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] likes her but is generally bad at reading flirt signs and isn’t sure.

[name_m]Rami[/name_m] is the youngest of his three siblings and used to love being treated like the baby of the family but now hates it because he feels he can’t be taken seriously growing up. [name_m]Bard[/name_m], being the middle child, bonds with him a lot and they often talk about what it’s like to be the sibling you are in the birth order. [name_m]Rami[/name_m] and his siblings often feel like they are overshadowed by one another and by other people at the schools they go to, so [name_m]Rami[/name_m] is happy to have a friend he’s known since daycare that he still has a great friendship with. What [name_m]Rami[/name_m] doesn’t know, but will know soon, is that he’s actually not going to be the youngest child for much longer — his mother just found out she is pregnant with their 4th child.

Riya Saanvika Deshan (47) is Rami’s mother. She was understandably surprised when she discovered she was pregnant, given her age, and she is both excited and anxious. So far, she feels good and strong physically, but she works on her feet all day as a gourmet chef, so she knows that she will need to listen to her body and request an early maternity leave if needed.

Riya grew up in Sri Lanka but hasn’t visited since her first pregnancy 18 years ago. She is longing to see the Hindu and Buddhist temples that she loved so much as a child, and to share them with her family. She still follows some spiritual practices, but doesn’t label herself as anything in particular anymore. She and her spouse have both tried to teach their children about any and all religions with respect and nuance, and to let them know that whatever they choose is fine with them, as long as it makes them happy and doesn’t hurt anyone.

Ranjit Krishna Deshan (47) is Rami‘s father and Riya’s husband. He is from Sri Lankan descent but was not born there, his single mother emigrating while she was still pregnant with him. He and Riya are pleasantly surprised about their fourth child and are taking a special maternity class with other expecting couples. They are new to the class but get along best with Sloane and her wife Evie, with single mother Vivienne, and one other couple in the class. They are also close with the maternity class teacher who relates to them because she too was the daughter of an older mother. Ranjit is completely agnostic and truly doesn’t know at all whether or not there is a God or Gods but knows when to guide life and when to let life guide him and is okay no matter what is truth.

Ruhansa ’ Rudhi ’ Sarindi [name_m]Deshan[/name_m] (18) is [name_m]Ranjit[/name_m] and Riya’s daughter, Rami’s older sister and the [name_m]President[/name_m] of the Textiles Club. Although she’s less conventionally exceptional than [name_u]Riley[/name_u] at crafting, Rudhi’s organisational skills are far better, helped by the fact she doesn’t get involved in any kind of drama - and honestly prefers to keep it out the club, supporting her [name_m]Vice[/name_m] [name_m]President[/name_m] by helping her focus elsewhere instead of adding fuel to the fire. Arguably her maturity and dedication to her leadership stems from being the eldest, and she was only two when her younger sister was born, meaning she never really experienced being an only child - something she’s honestly glad for.

Aside from continuously working on her collection - a fashion line inspired by her Sri Lankan heritage, albeit through a lens of editorial deconstruction - Rudhi enjoys being a darling of the languages department, speaking not just Sinhala and Tamil, but also [name_u]French[/name_u]. She enjoys joking to her siblings that her brain just acquires new languages easily, something she’s very pleased about given how [name_u]Paris[/name_u] is one of the fashion capitals of the world and she hopes on attending university there, helped by her linguistic fluency. Rudhi was the first to learn she’s expecting another younger sibling and is very excited, as she hopes to become a mother herself some day and this might provide the perfect experience to help her continuing to decide on her own future.

I’m sure everyone else has already caught on and I’m just noticing and going like…“hey look at that, all R names”, and everyone else is like “Girl you haven’t noticed yet?”

Rishi Mayuri Deshan (16) Rudhi’s younger sister, Rami’s older sister, and Riya & Ranjit’s second daughter. She is also president of a school club, the Design Club and is current Vice President of Socean and Bandgeekz, the latter being their band club. She is best friends with Uriel of the Design Club who also joined and thinks he would make a great Vice President, but he turned down the offer because he wanted to focus more on his mental health involving the pain in their family which Rishi understands. The club currently has no Vice President after the previous Vice President walked out on the club without explanation and Rishi is trying what she can as President to keep up the club, but really needs a Vice President and is looking for one. She doesn’t want to get involved in the drama involving her former VP and wants to be more like her older sister, who is supportive to Riley but not getting involved in the drama. However she can get stressed out by the heat of things. She knows Riley a little and knows she doesn’t get along with Aria but know no specific details. She wants to visit Paris someday and also would like to see Sri Lanka when she is older.

Elsa Rose Fletcher (16) is Rishi’s best friend and fellow member of Bandgeekz. She is very musically inclined, playing the piano, guitar, trumpet, violin, and clarinet, her favorite being the clarinet.

Ever since her mother passed away six years ago, Riya has been like a mom to Elsa. Though she hates to admit it, Elsa spends more nights at the Deshan’s than at her own house.

Elsa, like Rishi, has only sisters. Her oldest sister, Amara, is nineteen and engaged. Then is Isabela, fifteen, whom Elsa is closest with. Elsa was eight when the youngest, Odessa, was born. Unfortunately, the age gap and her father’s favoritism toward Dess has caused the two to always be at odds.

Elsa has her superstitions of why her father favors Dess. Likely, it’s because she was the only one of the four sisters to inherit their mother’s blonde hair and blue eyes. Their father seemed to cling to everything that reminded him of his dear wife after she passed away.

When her mom died, Elsa turned to music as her main comfort. However, as a teenager, she has turned more to boys. Recently, she found out that she is pregnant with her boyfriend, Bruce, and is scared to tell him more than anyone. She knows how upset he was with Cayde and Aria’s situation, and is a close friend of Cayde’s.

He was initially surprised [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] was dating [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] because he believed [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] liked Rudhi and [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] liked another boy in the school, but [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] had explained that she and [name_m]Bruce[/name_m] have lots of opposite-gendered friends. [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] now understands that the couple is very close, but does not yet know about the pregnancy. However he is a supporting father to [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and always attends the band recitals and always likes to ask her about her day.

[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] believes [name_u]Curtis[/name_u] has gotten more out-of-focus about the girls since his wife’s death and feels he has never been in the same mindset since. She is an awesome mother & handled all of the emotional things that a woman needs another woman for. She met Curtis while she was hiking in the Himalaya’s & he was hopelessly lost. She saved him & they found they had much in common. About eleven months later, they were married. She was raised in a multi-cultural household with her dad being Swedish & her mom being American. She was raised in America with her younger sister, Maja. She was killed in a hit-and-run with a (unknown to them) serial killer. She had a good life & was a good person.

This decision was made for more symbolic reasons than a rush to get married, as [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and her fiancé consider it highly important to exercise their rights as queer women, now that gay marriage has been legalised. [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and her fiancé were both completely open with their families about this reasoning: which prevented any kind of premature panic for their parents about them rushing things. The couple aren’t planning any ceremonies yet, instead wanting to actually wed once they’ve both graduated from college, which is where they technically met - having both attended the same open day, and bonded due to a mutual interest in exploring as much of the library as possible once guided tours and explanations about societies had finished. As a literature student, Amara’s desire to be surrounded by books surpises absolutely no-one, with reading having become her favourite comfort mechanism following the death of her mother.

Having always had more of an independent streak than any of her siblings and being the eldest anyways, she’s never felt as overlooked as [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], maintaining a good relationship with their dad and choosing to complete her degree close to home so she’s around if he or her sisters need her. This isn’t always that obvious though, as [name_f]Amara[/name_f] was typically the one out with friends or up in her room engrossed in her latest read; so her decision seems odd to [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabela[/name_f] who assumed she’d go wherever she wanted, in spite of the distance. Unbeknownst to anyone else, she’s aware of the pregnancy. While visiting home to pick up some more clothes (to resist the temptation of overhauling her whole wardrobe), [name_f]Amara[/name_f] found one of the tests [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] had taken when she began to suspect what was going on and it wasn’t too difficult guessing her sister with a boyfriend is the expectant mother. She doesn’t know how to approach [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] with this knowledge though, as while they get on they’ve never been especially close - Amara’s always confided in her best friend, who she’s known since she was five; whereas [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] has [name_f]Isabela[/name_f] - and even with her fiancé advising her to just speak to her sister, she’s scared of unleashing more tensions in the family.

[name_m]Matthew[/name_m] “Matt” [name_u]Shea[/name_u] [name_u]Corben[/name_u] (18) was at one point not close with [name_f]Amara[/name_f] but now have something in common no other person shares — they both found out about the secret teen pregnancy. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] is another one of Bruce‘s friends. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] is club President of Socean and a member of Bandgeekz when [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] asked him to get the sheet music from her backpack while she was setting up the instruments. He found the sheet music but not before finding notes in her backpack that she wrote about all the possible ways she can tell her family and friends about her pregnancy and what to do about balancing it with her life.

[name_m]Matt[/name_m] was adopted and secretly wonders if they will put up their baby for adoption. However his family is loving and he has another adopted brother the same age but in college and the oldest child is a foster daughter with the parents only biologically having [name_f]Nia[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoey[/name_f]. Being the current club president of Socean he credits [name_f]Nia[/name_f], the original president and a founding member of the club, with making such a world-changing and friendly club and after rescuing some fish, he was able to keep a female domesticated angelfish which he playfully named “Nia 2“ and kept as the unofficial club mascot. However is is close with [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] as well and says she really got him into heavy metal, which was an acquired taste for him because the school band never played that, but loves it and enjoys going to concerts with her.

He and [name_f]Amara[/name_f] have since bonded when he was talking to her casually about what university she goes to and whether he would enjoy it too. When they started talking about futures, he then said that he’s seen around about some “crazy news with Elsa” and that he “knows he shouldn’t tell so he won’t.” Feeling like she needed someone to talk to about it, [name_f]Amara[/name_f] said “You don’t have to hide it around me, I already knew. Don’t tell anyone else though.” The two of them had an odd but redeeming conversation and have bonded to some degree over this, with [name_m]Matt[/name_m] bonding with Amara’s new fiancée and supporting the couple and also getting information from Amara’s best friend, provided he does not tell anyone. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] is a very future-focused individual and is very saddened by Anne’s death and believes her killer is a psychopath. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] knows the least about [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] and Amara’s other two siblings but is interested in learning about their family as well. [name_m]Matt[/name_m] and Amara’s best friend currently have an after-school job together.

[name_m]Born[/name_m] and raised in San [name_m]Francisco[/name_m], [name_m]Sash[/name_m] decided to get some time away from the vibrant but somewhat chaotic environment she grew up in after becoming burnt out from the constant partying and social butterfly expectations placed upon her. [name_m]Sash[/name_m] lost her own mother when she was only 2, who died during a traumatic and premature delivery of a stillborn baby girl; an event she barely remembers thanks to being so young, but it’s stuck with her given the suddenness of this tragedy. This led to [name_m]Sash[/name_m] being raised by her maternal aunt, [name_f]Porsha[/name_f], with her cousin - who’s only 8 months younger than her - becoming a surrogate sister; the two developing a bond which has remained just as tight in spite of [name_m]Sash[/name_m] moving away.

[name_m]Sash[/name_m] still has contact with her dad, who was unable to raise her thanks to the trauma losing his wife caused, and loves him dearly; having developed an understanding of his reaction as she grew older - being consumed by feelings of rejection and resentment when she was young. She’s always been a very outgoing, strong-willed person though, who loves meeting new people and is unapologetically affectionate - something intensified when she came out as gay and freely expresses her love for [name_f]Amara[/name_f] in spite of what intolerant people think. [name_f]Porsha[/name_f] herself is a teacher and teaches band, sometimes supervising the Bandgeekz club events when they need a supervisor. She has a daughter 8 months younger than [name_m]Sash[/name_m] who is very close with her mother and cousin. [name_f]Porsha[/name_f] has not seen Sash’s father in months but always bonds with him as soon as she sees him, due to their mutual grief. She also gets along great with the [name_m]Fletcher[/name_m] family.

Her mother travels a lot for work and is often away from home. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] hopes a “bring your daughter to work day” is coming up soon & she can travel somewhere new and exotic with her mom. He loves gaming but between him and Willa, he isn’t very good, a below-average player who is easy to beat when people are playing against him rather than with him. She always beats him when they’re opponents. He and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] are Aria’s cousins and know about the Aria-Riley drama, but only hang out with [name_u]Aria[/name_u] after school when there’s less drama. [name_m]Dennis[/name_m] loves playing video games with [name_u]Aria[/name_u] too, and insists they play as teammates because “being opponents would just add more drama to your life, Aria”. She rolls her eyes but agrees anyway to take stress off, seeing he has no idea she has a secret as well and his secret of being a bad video game opponent is nothing compared to Aria’s secret of being pregnant.

[name_m]Dennis[/name_m] and Willa’s mother is the sister of [name_u]Aria[/name_u] and Rhea’s father, who is is a toxic evangelical Baptist who mistreated Aria’s older sister [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] over her sexuality. However [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and Dennis’s mother was never like that and her brother converted during adulthood having already moved out. Their mother doesn’t speak with her brother or equally bigoted sister-in-law and has gotten into travel so she can life her life in a less traditional and more open way, enjoying the experiences. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_m]Dennis[/name_m] have two very wonderful parents who love them for who they are and always will. The Kellans know [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is only staying Baptist to please her parents and keep a good relationship with them but are here to support she and her siblings when they need it. [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] " [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] " [name_u]Cove[/name_u] Morall (27) is [name_m]Dennis[/name_m] and Willa’s third maternal cousin, as well as the middle child of her parents - likewise estranged from them. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] cut off contact with her parents following their mistreatment of [name_f]Rhea[/name_f], who she’s always been very close with in spite of their age gap; following years of being emotionally abused herself. Being diagnosed as dyslexic when she was nine, Tessa’s mother wrote her off as unlikely to accomplish anything; while her father took this cruelty even further and berated her as stupid whenever she made a mistake thanks to something entirely out of her control.

As she grew older, [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] was always the one fighting with Mr and Mrs Morall, although the latter kept this secret from everyone - including her in-laws - as the idea of ruining their image in the Baptist community was something she was unwilling to consider. She’d claim [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] not coming to church was just a typical teenage rebellion: pretending that her daughter wasn’t outright refusing to be there. [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] was the only person who comforted, praised and defended [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], which unfortunately led to [name_u]Aria[/name_u] being distanced from her older siblings somewhat - as they were isolated in their defiance and being seen as ‘shameful’ by their cruel parents. This was partially why they cut off contact at the same point in time, the other factor being Tessa’s lack of prejudice and bigotry.

Ironically, [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] has gone onto be the most academically accomplished of all three siblings. Although her dyslexia caused her setbacks and frustration, she’s always had an undeniable knack at computing and technology - allowing her to become a successful programmer in the gaming industry (no doubt influenced by her cousins, who she dearly loves). [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] suspects she might be asexual on account of her disinterest in pursuing relationship - having spoken to [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] and her aunt about this - but this doesn’t mean people aren’t interested in her, as she suspects one of her colleagues is working up the courage to ask her on a date, and she’s not entirely opposed to trying.

Ravenna Raven Enid Morall (24) is Tessa’s younger cousin. She is the youngest child of her parents. She saw what her parents did to anyone who was different & kept closeted about being demi-sexual. She left the faith of her parents when she moved out but did not leave Christianity. Instead she became a Methodist which accepts all people for who they are. She went to college to get her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education & has been a daycare worker for four years now. She met a bisexual man that she felt a connection with in her last year of high school at eighteen. Now, six years later, they are married & she is expecting a child (or two). She & the guy, Danny also plan to adopt people that have been religiously abused. In fact, they already have a five year old little girl who was treated horribly because she is left-handed. Raven is, too, a lefty & is teaching her how to write at the moment. She is glad that no matter how close-minded her parents were they didn’t prosecute her for her handedness. She is close with both her older sisters (one of whom is still in the faith but disagree’s with some of the doctorines & one of whom is an atheist) & her brother (who is a Mormon). She is also close with Danny’s family who are very accepting especially his siblings.
