Time for another LavenderWitch aesthetic!
Recap
I was having a really difficult time with my name lists in the wake of naming my first child, until I was inspired by a series of aesthetic posts and moodboard threads to think about my names in a new way. I have a touch of synesthesia, so there are always colors and imagery associated with my favorite names. I switched from trying to organize my existing lists to gathering new lists of names, grouped together by the overall aesthetic I was looking for. This approach totally worked, and for the first time ever, I actually finished a top ten list!
My original goal was to do ten masc and ten femme moodboards to collect names and create a final combo for each aesthetic. I finished all the masc boards - though I ended up with more than ten combos - and this will be my eighth femme moodboard. I have two more in the works, and then there will be a special bonus moodboard for both masc and femme names before I make a final wrap-up post. So stay tuned!
I’m calling this one Weather Witch. Names in this category are witches and sorceresses, goddesses and demons, enchantresses and elementals, banshees and harpies, dark women, wild women, women who are forces of nature. Colors and textures are storm and charcoal, mist and raven; the blue-white of lightning and the dark teal of ocean waves; a lonely island buffeted by tempests; oil-slick black feathers and the beating of wings; sheets of rain blown sideways in gusts; a throaty voice chanting words of power; thick blankets of fog rolling over the land; a murder of stormcrows filling the air with their raucous cries; wild black hair whipping in the wind; the bright crack of lightning and the clash of thunder; the taste of ozone in your teeth.
So! What would you name a Weather Witch? (As always, I’ll be adding my favorite suggestions to a public list as we go along.)
